Very nice place for hiking! The road to Theth is quite a challenge to go by car as you have to ride all over the mountains but the views are worth it! Be sure to bring cash in leks as they charge you for paying by card or by euros!

It is no longer called Theth National Park but rather Albanian Alps National Park according to the locals I met. Anyway, this is, hands down, the most beautiful part of this country. And I'm quite scarred that with the new tarmac road the hordes of car-rental tourists might damage the natural beauty of the mountains. Make sure to come here soon or choose off season, autumn would be best in my opinion, still warm-ish, but no snow yet.

Best Nature , super views , great mountains. I have no word. I spent a great time with my family there hiking in nature , but all I want to say is about the people being more careful about their trash , to not let them there but to take them with themselves and not to get dirty in the environment.

Nature at its best. Amazing views, We couldn't make the journey to see the waterfalls as we had small children's. Highly recommend if you like hiking and mountains

Amazing scenery all around. From Tirana around 4 hrs depends on traffic. Lots of twist and turns to get there once you are closer to the mountain roads. Recommend booking a place in advance. A friend and I looked around and finally found one vacancy while we arrived there. We went on Oct 7th and the weather was perfect in early Oct.

When you arrive to Theth, the tourist information building is on the right.

If you want to hike to blue eye it takes 8-9hours but you discover the area a lot more than paying top dollar and trucks shake you quite a lot.
Just follow the white red white trail, this is mild trail and if you are capable walking around 18km it’s nicely spent time.

At the road there are several points were you can buy drinks or eat, carry LEKs with you!

I would suggest it for everyone who visits Theth!

Such a serene landscape, high mountains touching the clear blue sky. A wonderful moderate difficulty hiking trip. Must visit if you find yourself in Albanien.

It is an amazing place and was a must do in my wish list. Thiugh I could not visit the places where we need to trek

The Theth National Park is worth a visit with its beautiful nature and old wooden and stone huts. The valley is reached via a winding, narrow road. (completely paved). The national park has been visited by numerous adventurous people since its completion. The valley with the view of the surrounding mountains is very suitable for camping and hiking trips.

Great National Park in the north of Albania with several treking options to do, being the Grunas Waterfall (6km), Nderlysaj (8 km), Blue Eye (18km ). Excelent to relax and enjoy nature during summer or autumn.

Awesome place to visit... Iconic views and vistas, and the hike from Valbone to Theth is about a 6 hrs... An intermediate to expert hike so be sure footed and in great shape in order not to kill yourself! One of the best experiences in Albania and I highly recommend as you travel by mini van, ferry, and by your own two feet!😊

Breathtaking scenery! We stayed for three nights in Theth and walked from Theth up to the highest point of the Theth - Valbona hike. Lots of development happening in Theth, glad to have visited there before it gets too busy.

The road there is new asphalt all the way. I got some conflicting advice about the drive there and was really worried about the roads, but found they were newly finished asphalt! It is still very narrow and there are many sharp turns, so be careful!
Also very important- make sure you fill up on petrol before heading there as there are NO gas stations on the way or in Theth. I found a guy to fill me up from a jerrycan and he put diesel in my car instead of benzine. I understand this happens a lot.
Also- you can’t pay with credit card anywhere so make sure you have a lot of cash.
As a local told me- you’re in the end of the world here!
So once here, the road is pretty dodgy, you should find a place to stay and start walking everywhere. There are many hikes, all super beautiful.
Would recommend at least 2 nights, not including any overnight tracks you might go on.

I went in November 1st week and it was rainy season so unable to visit many places.
I just visited few places and it was looks beautiful.

Hotels and all mostly free and very less people around. Driving in this national park is wonderful experience, lot of hair pin bends..

This is best part if Albania for nature (and mountain) lovers! You got easy (car) access to valley and lower mountains, and few walking trails (on about 2500m) for advance hikkers. On june threre is still lot of snow in top parts, but still ton of fun (no other peoples on trails)

I must have come here at the perfect time, end of October, after most of the visitors had left, and when the forests were stunningly colourful. And the temperature was perfect - at least 20 degrees during daytime and a little cold at night. I hadn't expected the road in here to be that rough; it took me two hours to drive the last 15 kilometers. I didn't have a 4WD, but certainly it would be recommended and needed if the weather is wet. Coming down the valley is like driving into a fairytale, you just hope that not too many visitors will discover it and that it will stay like this forever.

Theth is the heart of the Albanian Alps!

To everyone that is a nature lover or loves hiking and exploring, Theth can offer you all that. This was my third time visiting it and finally the road was asphalted and everyone with a normal car can reach it within 2 hours from the city of Shkodra. I would recommend at least 2 nights so you can enjoy most of the attractions and activities. Some beautiful attractions are the Watefall of Theth, The Blue Eye, and The Church. You can also have a swim in the river and try delicious traditional Albanian food.

Important tips:
• be sure to fill up with petrol before heading there as there are no Gas Stations on the way or in Theth. The last petrol stop is in Koplik 50 km far from Theth.
• I would highly suggest to visit Theth in spring or during the summer.
• I would not recommend hiking to some places like the waterfall with little kids beacuse the track is narrow and slippery.
