Guesthouse Pal Rupa

We loved our stay at Rupa’s guesthouse. On arrival we were greeted with the best pancakes we have ever tasted with hot coffee and tea. Our room was clean, tidy and cosy - like a ski lodge! On return from a wet and cold walk to the blue eye, we had a warm fire to sit and dry our clothes by. The host was a brilliant cook and we had an abundance of food from homemade bread, cheese, aubergines, salad, and whipped feta peppers with a dessert of wonderful fresh pomegranate, grapes and chestnuts.
For breakfast we had a spread of fresh fruit, salad, bread, cheese, homemade jams and an omelette. The host felt like our real grandma - it was a home away from home :) would 100% recommend for a relaxed and authentic experience. Xx

Simple but lovely campsite. No electricity. Hostel like vibe. Keep track of the food/drinks/nights you stay. Lovely atmosphere!

The host (Nona Rosa - 70 years old) cooks most deliciously!! 10euro for a complete meal. Vegans / vegetarians; eat your heart out too. :-)

We spent two nights camping in the garden of the guesthouse.
A lovely granny prepares delicious dinners, you sit at the table with the other guests and overall it's a warming experience. There are also two hammocks in the garden where you can chill.

We ended up staying here for 5 nights. Great atmosphere, good hikes to the Blue Eye, tasty family food, cheap quiet camping spot for tents and campers. Basic facilities, ice cold river nearby. Would have loved to stay longer and enjoy the fireflies at night ⭐⭐⭐

(As for the guard dog: the fact that he was on a short leash and very stressed, that broke my heart. I have seen this elsewhere in Albania too. Also I saw horses eating garbage on the streets. This is terrible.
But the people are so so very nice, I hope the treatment of animals and littering of garbage will improve. Albania is a magical place, let's help eachother to keep it that way ❤❤❤)

Very good experience overall. The lady host is an excellent cook, we felt like at our grandma's home - we could not leave the table without a full belly :)
Accommodation very simple, but clean, all we needed, comfy beds, central location in Theth.

The place is amazing. A really good choice when you are interested in hiking and nature and you are staying in Theth. If you are more into party you should probably stay somewhere else closer to the car bridge.
The owners are super kind and friendly. Their selfmade dinner and breakfast is amazing and you will never starve.

Loved our stay there, Rosa, the owner, and her husband even took us by 4x4 to Theth and made a stop for us with a beautiful view of the valley. They were really helpful with directions when we were going to the blue eye and with the path to valbona.

After a long hike and some rain we were immediately offered some tee and some very tasty difficult to describe cookie things.

The food in the evening was just delicious and more extensive that we expected. Even after a day of hiking we (sadly) could not finish it. Same with breakfast. The homemade bread and Joghurt were just delicious as well.

The room was tidy and she brought us an extra thick blanked as it was already getting quite cold.

Basically, Lovely people, delicious food, clean and comfortable rooms, what could you want more?

Very pleasant time in this guest house - we’ve liked the spot, attitude of hosts and service. Good price for value. Authentic place. Host speaks advanced English and can advise on a lot of things which is a big advantage. Hope to be there one more time :)

Amazing guesthouse with authentic Albanian hospitality and good food. Small rooms but amazing views, hot showers are the cherry on top after a long day hiking.
