Reconciliation Tower

I had read a lot about the history of the tower and the Code of Lekë Dukagjini before I went and it was worth it, you should visit it if you are in Theth. The ticket costs 150 lek and the owner of the tower will tell you all its history and more.

There's a quite a history behind this building which served as a sort of village court. The elders would try to resolve here disputes between different clans, sometimes even bloody, by reconciliation hence the name. You can stop here on the way along the river to the most popular easy hikes: waterfall and Blue Eye.

The name is deceiving as this is a tower where majority of people reconciled, which is the opposite of locking themselves in. Before the existence of courts, people who had a dispute came to this house to resolve a conflict and elders weight the matter and largely brought about some form of justice by reconciling people. Thus, the house served like a court. Those rare disputes that were irreconcilable ended up with someone being locked in and having food brought to them. Today, you can have this story being told to you in the tower (which should be called Reconciliation Tower) by one of the successors of the elders who did this reconciliation. Ask to know about the role of the cradle in this process. If Sokol is the one telling you the story, he will also play you music on the oldest instrument, the leaf! If you are in Teth, this tower is a necessary stop.

Beautiful, fascinating, interesting location with a lovely family-run cafe associated with it - some of the best Turkish coffee we've ever had. Well worth a visit.

It was such a great experience to explore the nature, history and beauty of Theth is astonishing.The food is great and people are very hospitable.

Interesting place with lovely staff - in order to understand the neccessity of this building (and the life in the mountains earlier), knowing some details of the Kanun helps a lot.

This place is a must see in Theth. We loved the tower and its history.

Der Turm ist beeindruckend, wenn man die Geschichte dazu kennt. Leider gibt es vor Ort keine Infos dazu oder Führung. Man muss es selbst recherchieren. Ansonsten ist er ein guter Ausgangspunkt für weitere Erkundungen in der Umgebung. Einen Parkplatz gibt es in der Nähe. Die Straßen dorthin sind sehr eng - für manchen zu eng, da gefühlt nur für 1,5 Autos nebeneinander und überholen schon mal gar nicht. Ticket 150 Lek

Luogo interessante per conoscere il codice consuetudinario di Lekë Dukagjini, definito "Kanun" in albanese. Era presente una guida al nostro arrivo che descriveva le funzioni della torre e molto altro. È previsto un biglietto di entrata di 150 Lekë.

Kulla e pajtimit është e veçantë. Ka shumë histori. Shpjegimi i pajtimeve dhe kanunit nga guida e kullës familja e të cilit zotëron dhe kullën shum i mirë.

مكان رائع جدا هو عبارة عن قلعه جميلة مع مناظر رائعه ولكن الحذر لمن معهم اطفال فالمكان ليس به متطلبات الامأن

Interesante. Tiene varios pisos para ver. Supuestamente cuesta unos 100 leks entrar, pero no había nadie para cobrar.
