Bikes were great and almost new and the hire kit was good quality relative to other places I have hired kit.
I wanted to do a longer tour with FTV but due to an injury I couldn't manage it. FTV took me out for a day to the mountains for a bit of off roading which was great. Great stop offs with nice views and Thang (Victor) was a great tour guide and great company as well. We were chatting and laughing together all day. I had a fantastic time.

Just a quick preview to our trip, this trip around the North of Vietnam was originally planned for May 2020 which should have been our 10 year anniversary of riding in Vietnam but there was a bit of a flu going around at that time so our trip had to be postponed.
Fast forward to October 2022 and the plan was reinstated and the ball started rolling for lift of for May 2023.
After all this time Thang had everything ready for us when we arrived in Hanoi, a great hotel in the Old Quarter to base our selves for a few days checking out the sights and everyone getting re acquainted with one another.
The ride started with an overnight train trip to the Chinese border where our luggage and CRF300's were waiting for us.
This ride was an 8 day 7 night epic adventure through some of if not the most beautiful riding country in Vietnam.
Around every corner were comments coming through the comms(have a go at that view or look at that mountain range) and it didn't stop till we rode back into Hanoi on day 8.
We stayed in some great little towns where the local people were surprised to see a foreign face and there was a couple of nights we didn't see any foreign tourists which all ways adds to the experience.
Thang and his Crew being Darren the Mechanic following us and his support vehicle driver always had our every need covered. When we arrived at our overnight stay there was always a cold beer waiting.
And special mention for Aimee, Thangs office assistant she sorted any of our needs out as required.
All in all this trip was beyond epic, from the hotels along the way, the meals that were provided for us everyday, as I previously said the unbelievable scenery, the bikes provided were exactly the bike for this type of terrain and Thang, his knowledge of this part of Vietnam was incredible and his grasp of the English language was better than ours sometimes.
This was my second time traveling with Thang and plans are already in motion for another tour next year.
Thanks again Thang(Victor) and all your staff for the memories that will be with us all for a long time.

An incredible adventure - best trip I've ever done! A huge thank you to Thang (Victor) and the whole Frontier team for making this an unforgettable experience from start to finish. I joined 3 other guys who came as a group for a 7 day trip that covered North Vietnam starting and ending in Hanoi. Breathtaking vistas, far flung villages frozen in time, incredible local food and exhilarating mountain roads are just some of the things you can expect on your journey. There was never a dull moment and pulling into a homestay nested in a valley to crack open a cold beer and admire the beautiful scenery after a day on the road is one of those experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime. Despite my very limited experience with offroading I was able to get the hang of it pretty quick thanks to everyone's help. Thang is an awesome guide and really does his best to make sure everyone has a good time. What more can I say? Do it! It will be the trip of a lifetime.

I've visited Vietnam independently many times before and after Covid and the only company I'd book a tour with now is Frontier Travel. My first trip was a 10 day tour of Sapa and the north a few years ago and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Thang is a lovely guy who speaks excellent English and his knowledge of the culture, history, food and local customs made the trip so much more than a standard tour. We got the chance stay in local homestays which gave you a much better insight into how people really live and was so much more enjoyable than staying in hotels. The scenery is fantastic and you can stop and take pictures whenever you want. More recently in May 2022 I went on a day trip to Ninh Binh from Hanoi which was another fantastic experience, it's amazing how we managed to see so much and for me learn so much in a day. Following a lovely boat trip along Tam Coc River we had a great lunch before cycling through the beautiful countryside in Trang An before climbing to Mua Cave viewpoint. I'm already planning my next trip later this year! There are 1000's of tour companies in Hanoi but I highly recommend Frontier which is streets ahead of the others I've been with previously.

We heard Frontier had a great reputation, but WOW the whole team over our 8 day ride was unbelievable.The moto of the company is "EXPERIENCE VIETNAM LIKE A LOCAL" which is exactly what we got and some.The bikes we rode were prepared and fantastic for the conditions we rode.Our group had arranged back up support vehicle, which took the whole ride to another level, as we arrived into each town and our luggage was all there.Getting to local knowledge of the country and seeing first hand their culture was unforgettable.Our bike ride was over and we used Frontier again a few days later to see Halong bay and having the team look after this was brilliant.

Booked Transport from Hanoi to Mai Chau through Frontier. It was a mini bus with luxury seats for quite a reasonable price. Got there safely and comfortably, though we did have some extra local passengers in the spare seats who it seemed were friends of the driver. It wasn’t a problem for us, even though we had to listen to their tv programmes playing on their phones and one of the passages shouting rather than talking!

The entire trip was outstanding from start to finish. His entire team, from the guide and company owner Victor, to his mechanics, the support car driver, and his office staff could not do enough to ensure the trip was unforgettable. Victor tailored the entire trip to maximise the experiences for the entire group. I can’t recommend the Frontier travel team enough for a trip of a life time!

I don't usually write reviews however we have had a fantastic time in Vietnam having booked some excursions through the family run business that is Frontier travel. We originally arrived in Hanoi with no plans and after looking at reviews we decided to go with Frontier travel and were not disappointed. Thang (Victor) has been incredibly helpful. He has lived and travelled through Vietnam his entire life and is extremely knowledgeable about the whole country. His English speaking is brilliant and this really helped when asking for specific recommendations along our route. He was contactable at all times and always answered the phone with advice and directions as needed. We rented a bike and travelled over 1000kms and Victor had advice on activities and homestays throughout our weeks travelling. A huge thanks to Victor and his family, you have made our trip special! Cannot recommend this company enough 👌

Frontier Travel organised a 2D/1N cruise trip on Cat Ba island to visit the Lan Ha Bay (Halong Bay area).
We spend the night on the Veneziana cruise and they took care of everything! All the trip was so well organized! We went from Hanoi to the Hai Phong port, from there a boat came to pick us up and we made our way to the ship! All the connection were made on time and our guide followed us trough very easely. Very efficient! The cruise they work with is amazing! We took a different route to see the Halong Bay and they were barely anyone else! The experience felt even more magic! We went kayaking and swimming on a perfect area were we had the beach to ourselves. There were only 1 other ship were we spent the night and in the morning we went on Cat Ba island for a visit!
Then they took us all the way back to Hanoi, with an other boat and a bus! They dropped us at our hotel and made sure we were home safe!
10/10 professionalism!

Thanks Victor Thang for making our trip to Vietnam unforgettable. We arrived early morning in Hanoi not really knowing how to plan our trip up north so we walked past the Frontier Travel Office and decided to ask for help!

Victor and Diệp really helped planning and made sure everything was fixed in detail. We booked the Ha Giang Loop and also a cruise in Ha Long Bay! Both experiences were amazing and because of clever work by Victor he could arrange night sleeper busses to save time and get the most out of our trip!

Very good value for money! Fixing all things by yourself could be a little bit cheaper but is also a big hassle and a lot of stress. So we are very happy that Frontier Travel arranged it all! We even got a free upgrade on the cruise and a big cake for the birthday of my girlfriend!
