A must see sight for anyone visiting the area!
Would recommend doing by motorbike if possible but by car is also an enjoyable experience!
Remember to bring a coat as the weather is unpredictable and don’t get scammed by people saying you can’t park up and look at the view, just drive away from them
Plenty of cafes with incredible views, proper great day out!

Very beautiful and majestic, pristine and natural. It will be natural if we go by car, we have booked a private car from Hue to Đà Nẵng to be able to stop and take pictures at any location. We also travel by train, but it's nice as well.

The view back to Da Nang as you make your way up the mountain is stunning. If you are on a motorbike or scooter, there are several spots you can stop to take photos. If you are in a car, stop at the cafe at the top and go down the left side all the way to the back, there is a deck there where you can take photos of the road and the view.

A fantastic day's ride from Hue to Da Nang.

Weather was beautiful, and we were very lucky.

Roads are quiet and perfect for new riders.

It's absolutely a top thing to do if you are in the area.

Motorvina bikes, which have multiple offices, were very helpful, and the whole rental process for a one way trip was easy.

Rent a motorbike and ride up this breathtaking road.
No prior experience required, it was the first time on a bike for me and I managed without problems (even when it started raining, the road is large and in excellent condition)

Short mountain drive but so beautiful along the coast! It was definitely a fun afternoon ride, I recommend if you're looking for a nice drive in the da Nang/hoi an/ hue area!

+ Beautiful scenery when you reached to the top
+ You can stop over for a drink and relax
+ Nice coast line and very windy
+ A place that you shouldn't missed.

I have been here about 3-5 years ago, it was beautiful place and to relax here for a drink.
You will needs to ride or drive from Danang or Hue to reach Hai Van Pass.

Breathtaking view. Only a short ride from Danang but remember that it is safer riding a manual scooter than a automatic one. Taking a train from Danang to Hue or vice versa to contemplate this view is also recommended

Hai Van Pass itself is secluded and scarcely traveled, but the drive up the mountain seems extremely popular for locals--and you can see why with the views. Gorgeous on the way up, through the pass, and back down. You might even see some endangered quoc monkeys and cows like we did!

Get yourself a scooter and head up in the morning, preferably around 7 am if you want to beat the crowds heading up the mountain. It's entirely a scenic tour, but if you have the time to spare for a peaceful drive then go for it. You'll be glad you did.

Beautiful view. Motorbikes can stop to take pictures but cars can’t. However the ride by car is more confortable. Can get very cloudy

Incredible drive with views to match!
I’d really recommend doing this one if in Da Nang as it’s only 30-40 mins to the summit from the city.

The road up the pass is in great order & very safe compared to other drives I’ve done in S.E.A. Besides this, we noticed there was not much traffic as most locals take a tunnel below to get to the other side quicker.
We found ourselves stopping on a number of occasions as every turn offered a new picturesque view to take in.
On the way up you will see a number of locals with small coffee/ snack stalls set up & table areas to relax at.
I’d advise going to these over the cafes on top who can be a little overbearing when trying to get you into their place.
We found a great family run stall on the way, which was so peaceful & offered what we thought was the best view.

Hai Van Thien is the first Hung Quan. The most beautiful pass road in central Vietnam at the end of the Truong Son mountain range of the northern Truong Son system. Tourists from all over the world should come here and experience it once in a lifetime and check in

Incredible views! Drive from Hue to the summit was spectacular. Return trip had taken 5 hours including stops.

Worth it going from Da Nang, it's very beautiful, very doable with a scooter, the road is good, there are little cafes near the road. We saw a couple of tourists who were flagged down by police.

The Hai Van pass is a super easy ride, the condition of the roads are good and not very busy.
The best piece of advice is if the weather is not very good then don’t bother doing it. It rained the whole day when we did it, we didn’t get to enjoy any views and it was a waste of time and money.
An option if you are in da nang is to rent a bike for 1 day and do the pass then go back to da nang, this way would be much cheaper and you can make sure the weather is good. It is not very long and would only take a couple of hours.
