Funny Monkeys Homestay

We were just here for a quick fresh up as we had planned for a cave trek the same day morning, our check in was super smooth and room was very neat and clean. Phuong helped us a lot by booking us the tickets to & forward from Funny Monkey. The view from the eating place is really nice and the food was tasty and overall I really recommend this place !

Thank you for being the best host ever! We had the most amazing stay at your homestay, everyone was so nice, the place was so clean and beautiful. Cave tour was also great with the amazing guide and good food. Thank you for arranging the bus and checking in on us. Kayaking would be one if our favourite memories. Hope to see you again!

Our stay in the Homestay was great! The staff was very friendly (especially Phuong) and accommodating. They were answering our requests fast and were helpful throughout our stay.

We extended our stay for an extra half day as we had a night train so we wanted to relax a bit and everything was smooth, including our transportation to the station which they also helped with.

The food there is great, many options and also there is a fridge with plenty of variety for drinks so you can have some beers while enjoying the fantastic view the place offers.

Amazing homestay! The bedrooms are very spacious, clean and the bed is really comfortable. The view is also breathtaking 🥰
And among all, Moon, the owner, is one of the loveliest person I’ve ever met.

We cannot recommend this homestay enough. The staff were so incredibly helpful and friendly - we felt like we were staying at a home from home. The food was some of the best we have experienced in Vietnam so far. The location is absolutely stunning, we saw the clouds rising over the mountains in the morning and the sun setting in the evening. This place is an absolute must if you are staying in Phong Nha. Thank you to Moon and all the other staff for our stay, we will miss your hospitality and smiles.

Funny Monkeys is a great little homestay right on the river with incredible views. Our room was the family room on the top floor and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Phuong was kind and helpful during the stay. The food is also tasty. Unfortunately we arrived during a cold snap and did not have the right clothing, which lead to us cutting our trip short. However, I would not hesitate to return (hopefully during better weather) and recommend the homestay to others.

Funny monkeys is a one of a kind. Located on the riverfront, it was incredibly picturesque, but what makes this place was the friendly and happy staff. Phuong made us feel at home, helped us organise our plans and even helped us improve our Vietnamese. The kitchen staff made tasty meals and always served them with a smile. Can't wait to come back to stay and explore more of Phong Nha. Chúc mừng năm mới!

The service was immense. For 600k vnd per night for the biggest room it's a steal!
Yes it has a few flaws such as the joint shower toilet, but for $35aud per night, why would you complain.
The staff were beautiful and so kind and helpful. We would highly recommend Funny Monkeys, especially with kids.
We would go back!

This place is amazing and I had such a wonderful time that I have reccomended this place to everyone I have met in my Vietnam travels, go there the staff are lovely the place is wonderful as well as the food! Plus the location is amazing with so many things to see my favourite place in Vietnam

This is a homestay full of human touch. The accommodation room is clean and there is sufficient hot water. The service attitude of the staff is excellent and understanding. They have a high level of English and really care about the needs of the guests. I enjoyed two dinners and one night's stay here. I was moved by the attentive service and the beautiful river view. If you are looking for family travel accommodation in phong nha or a living space that blends into the local environment, I highly recommend Funny Monkeys Homestay.

I stayed at 'Funny Monkeys Homestay' for 2nights, located right by the river, the place is super chill and homey.

The room is clean and the food is SUPER DUPER delicious especially smoothie, I literally had that in every meals

The host and Mrs.Tu is really nice and helpful. The little doggy accompanied me throughout the stay.

No doubt I had a very good time and warm welcome there

We stayed at the funny monkey homestay in the family room for 3 nights for around $25/night. We chose the homestay because of the amazing view of the mountains/river from the large windows. The view was way better than the most expensive lodging options in the area (which are still only ~$70/night) and the rooms looked on par if not better than those options.

Another positive for the homestay were how kind the hosts were. Phuong was super sweet and helped arrange a bus ticket from Da Nang to Phong Nha. There was some hiccup with the bus ticket but she helped deal with it remotely. We also rented motorbikes to go around Paradise/Dark Cave and they not only helped us with renting the motorbikes but Phuong also helped teach us how to use it! It was our first time (thankfully we survived). They really go above and beyond here.

The food at the homestay was pretty decent. It wasn't amazing but it was convenient to be able to eat close to our rooms and the view is beautiful. There was a wait to get your food but we brought our ipad from our room and watched some netflix while we waited :) We would highly recommend the drinks they offer- especially the blue passion fruit soda!

Stayed with my husband and teenage kids in the family room. Service was great, the hosts were lovely and very attentive. Great location, easy to walk to local restaurants and sights. Food was great and sitting facing the river to eat was definitely a highlight. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Funny Monkeys! The rooms had a great view, the location was perfect, in the center of the town. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the river after the trips we made in the National Park. The free bikes came out well too. The food was delicious. And above all we enjoyed the hospitality and warm welcome of Moon, Thu and the rest of the team! Thank you very much!

Absolutely stunning location!! The hosts at this homestay are lovely and will help you organise tours and transfers. The rooms are large and well equipped with a nice bathroom and ice cold air con. There is a restaurant/ cafe at the homestay with a ride variety of delicious food and drinks available. Highly recommend grabbing a coffee and just staring out at the view.

The best stay we had in the whole of Vietnam! I loved this place so much - I wish we could have stayed for much, much longer. Perfect rooms at a great price, breathtaking views, amazing food and just the sweetest staff ever. I really did feel like family and felt so sad leaving! I genuinely couldn't recommend it higher - thank you to everyone who made our stay so incredible, it was the highlight of our month long trip ♥

I loved that the accommodation has a restaurant, where you can sit together with others and eat or enjoy a drink. I felt so welcome here and will definitely be back should I get a chance.

Funny Monkeys was such a great homestay! We were there for one night only but I highly recommend it. Moon is a very lovely lady, so welcoming and helpful! She and the other staff made us dinner late at night when we arrived, and breakfast before the cave tour which she arranged for me and my friends. We could keep our luggage at the home stay and were able to shower there after we checked out. Will definitely come back here!

We stayed here 2 nights, it was a wonderful experience and the staff really makes the stay! They are really friendly and prepared to help with anything. Also good to note: their english is very good! The food was also delicious!

The room was fine, nothing major wrong other then the shower that drainages slow but something to be expected and it will not “ruin” your stay.

The room we had was in the ground Floor next to the reception and restaurant but it is quiet at 22:00 h.

I guess we where a bit unlucky because we stayed Sunday to tuesday and there is this church next to the homestay wich blasted very loud music at 4 in te morning on monday! It luckely only lasted half an hour and was probably because some sort of celabration of the church. We did mention it to the staff and they where even kind enough to give us a discount, wich we DIDN’T expect but was a very nice surprise.

They also organize tours etc from the homestay. We dit the tour where we went to paradise cave first, then had lunch at a restaurant near the dark cave. After we suited up in swimsuits we went from a zipline and ended close to the dakcave. We then proceeded to go in the cave and have a mudbath deep in the cave. Afterwards there where all sorts of fun water activities like a slide in to the water, another zipline and many more water activities. We where brought by minivan/bus from A to B to C etc.

I can almost say for certain that you will have a lovely stay here!

The duck farm! Apparently there is a duck farm close by where you can pet ducks and we heard a lot of people talk about it, we didn’t have the time unfortunately but if you have the chance, pet some ducks for me please!
