Villa Maison Kitchen & Wine Bar

We stayed here three nights and ate dinner here all three (and breakfast which is included for guests of the hotel).

Stylish boutique hotel and restaurant, no pool but a few minutes walk from the beach in Con Dao. Well put together and set in sweet gardens. Staff are very friendly and chatty, and do their best to help.

Food is very high quality with a varied menu. We tried as many different items as possible and were never disappointed.

Only suggestion from us would be to have a more varied wine list, and to offer cocktails (the owner runs an apparently good cocktail bar around the corner if that’s your bag)

Best meal I’ve had in a long time. Had a chicken breast salad, seafood curry, two cocktails and desert for 1 million VND. Not super cheap, but compared with other restaurants on the island, it’s very fair and reasonable when considering the quality of the food, as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant!

We were very satisfied with the diner we had here. It has a beautiful building, the staff is friendly, but most important: the food is amazing. We enjoyed all the fish. The seafood spring roll was the best one we had in Vietnam (and we tried them all ;) )

Charming restaurant bar in a beautifully restored French colonial villa. An ideal place to enjoy one of their tasty evening cocktails or a glass of wine amidst its lush tropical garden terrace. Centrally located, Villa Maison also offers boutique accomodations just a few meters off the beach.

We were very happy and satisfied with this hotel- from its look and design to the super delicious food. The staff were also great- very helpful and always with a positive attitude. Me and my wife couldnt wish for a better honeymoon. Recommended 100% :)

For our Christmas holiday, my partner and I were looking forward to relaxing in the sun and being surrounded by nature. Staying at Villa Maison allowed us to get all of this and more.

Con Dao can be busy this time of year as it is evidently very popular and I would guess soon to be more so. It wasn’t until our second day that we were able to stay there as they were fully booked for our arrival. In order to stay for the rest of our trip, we had to switch rooms mid-way through our stay. This wasn’t too inconvenient though as our second room was an upgrade and much more spacious. That said, the hotel was always fully occupied. I highly recommend booking a month in advance if you would like to stay here.

The Villa site is small but very charming in its elegance and colonial era heritage. The same could be said for much of the town close to the boardwalk which is really well-preserved and has ample balance of public and private space. Even though this hotel is small, it has many modern amenities. Every room had air-conditioners and spacious bathrooms with walk-in showers. The wifi was free and easy to use. The most attractive parts of the hotel were the common areas such as the reception, the indoor dining area, and outdoor dining areas as well as the bar. Their kitchen made delicious western and Vietnamese food and was one of the more popular places in town for tourists to eat. It was quite romantic in the evening. An onsite pool would have been great because it gets too hot to sit outside around mid-day. The hotel also had a number of scooters you can rent so you can explore the island.

For me, the most important considerations when choosing a hotel is the location. The Villa Maison is centrally located on the south side of the island so it’s very convenient for getting around. It is also only a 2-3 minute walk from the main boardwalk that goes along the edge of the town’s harbour. Most of the food, entertainment, and sightseeing options are found in this area too. The town is pretty small so you can walk or bike to most places within 10-20 minutes. Of course, a scooter will make everything much more accessible, especially if you are heading to the more remote parts of the island to go snorkelling, to visit one of several beaches, or to enjoy a hike. The island also has quite an interesting history as it was used as a prison colony during the time of the Vietnamese war. As sad has that history is, it has left behind many well kept colonial buildings that helped the town to grow. and continue to draw people to this lovely little island.

The staff that worked here were excellent and helped to make our stay very memorable. They were welcoming and always around to help us enjoy our stay. One recommended details about places to visit on the island and showed us how to get there. Even though several staff spoke limited English, we didn't have any miscommunications. The bar had a nice selection of drinks and someone was always around to offer you a cocktail or whatever you may like from the kitchen. The menu was so tempting that on several nights we decided to stay in for dinner. The entire hotel was also kept very clean.

The only thing about this hotel that made me think twice was the price. At $450 HKD a night, it was not the most affordable option in town. Adding dinner or lunch to that would make your bill higher, however, the scooter was not expensive. Luckily most other events and activities on the island were reasonably priced for tourists so it didn’t break our budget. But you could certainly find other basic options in the town for much less. That said, if we return. Villa Maison will be where we hope to stay.

Everying at Villa Maison was impeccable!

The food, beverages and decor were absolutely magnificent. The attention to detail and level of service was second to none.

I would highly recommend this restaurant and bar for a wonderful evening of sundowners or a special occasion with a loved one.

It was lovely breakfast. Omelet is not my preference actually ( bit hard inside ) but still fine( this may caused I haven’t mentioned)

Amazing food, great art-deco surroundings, and good service. The two of us both ate curries and were super happy. The red seafood curry with lychee was to die for. Oh and the cocktails were also delish!

Reviewing both hotel and restaurant. We had dinner here and everything was amazing. Food, staff and interior. So good that we switched hotel to stay here. The room was really good in every aspect. Not the cheapest but great value.

I did not stay at the Villa Maison. But I found it to have the best food in town. Its a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Open for breakfast and dinner. The cocktails are strong. The service is good and the food is fantastic.

A trip well spent for me. First time visiting Con Dao, and Villa Maison made it so much more memorable.

Location is great. You can choose to walk around and explore the attractions near by. Or hire scooter and zip around to see the island (highly recommended). Just speak to the hotel staff. Rental is cheap.

Highly recommend to anyone who's also hesitant on doubling down for Six Sense or Poulo Condo.

Stayed here for 3 nights, only regret is tht we did not stay longer. The staff is amazing, food delicious and vibe perfect. You can really feel that everything is made from the heart and the decor is hand picked both love. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you Maison for a wonderful stay!!

Excellent stay at Villa Maison. Great staff, excellent food and great choice of beverages.

The rooms are clean with comfortable beds and the bathrooms have all the space you need.

The hotel also rents motorbikes for 120000vdn / day

5 stars in comparison with surroundings) But sometimes "no steak, sorry", "no wine, sorry"... By the way, steak was stunning!!! When I finally got it. Really goooood!) Highly recommended! Seafood - 👌

We went to the restaurant and taste was delicious, decoration and vibes there are really great, western style and elegant, price could be a bit lower but food was really good ❤

We ended up coming back many times for dinner and drinks while we were in Con Dao. Great food and value for money. They even had Rooster Beer and NZ ice cream!
