SY's homestay

Everyone I met at Jungle Boss Lodge was really nice and helpful. I did get a pickup very late at night (2 am) from the bus drop-off point. I felt taken care of from that moment. Breakfast is a little odd - like pancakes were very oily, but then the next day I remembered so I got something else. Depending on what room you get, some are very spacious with very comfortable beds. The bathroom was a bit weird as the water spilled everywhere, but at least there was good water pressure, which I appreciated. They provide shower towels, but don't bring them on the trek. Unfortunately, I never used the pool, but it looked clean (it was cooler and rainy the whole time I was there). I ticked one star off for location, becuase there really isn't much to walk to for food options (very quiet during low season. Maybe during high season there are more restaurants nearby), however, they have FREE BICYCLES to use, which was super handy and lovely to bike through to the other edge of town. It is otherwise a very rustic location. (There will be bugs inside, frog noises outside -- rice paddies). Enjoy your stay!

Super cozy and well organised, excellent staff who knows how to take care of the guests.
You can organise many activities from here, also the home of Jungle Boss tours. I had no chance with limited time, but definitely would do it if I'm back!

The stay is mesmerising and extremely well maintained. The old rustic cabin look is something to desire for. Paddy fields, wooden benches and scenic mountains form a beautiful part of the stay. Especially with people like Quan make the stay more pleasant with undoubtedly the best service ever, there won’t be a single complaint if Quan assists you. Ann, who is the manager is excellent and well prepared for her guests and helps arrange excellent tours. This place is one of it’s kind and I would recommend the same.

Had an amazing stay at Sy’s, incredibly helpful and lovely staff!
Sy picked us up from the bus station at 4am & let us check in early which was amazing as we really needed sleep!
He also sorted our tour and onwards travel for us.
There’s lots of breakfast options so you can mix it up.
Rooms are lovely and spacious, the bathroom huge!

Had an amazing stay, Sy and the whole family made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. They gave us lots of information about things to do in the area and booked a tour and a taxi for us. Sy even picked us up from the bus station at 4am and let us check in straight away free of charge! The rooms were immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing. The location is beautiful, a little out of town but it's worth it for the views and he has bicycles and scooters for rent. The food there was also brilliant. Would highly recommend a stay here!

I stayed one night here as a stop over from Hue to Ninh Binh but I wish it was a longer stay. I would recommend anyone to come back to enjoy the pool.
I stayed in the cabin and it was very comfortable and clean. The view from the window is beautiful you have the open field and limestone mountains all to yourself.
It was a bonus to see two showers in the bathroom, one with an open roof!
I enjoyed the breakfast here too.
You can arrange anything you need here: motor bike rental and tour tickets.
It was also very handy we had a free pick up and drop off after check out.
Would recommend this place for couples, families or larger friend groups.

Loves the homestay feel. And the open air shower. Rooms are clean and comfy. Some construction stuff lying around. Breakfast just the usual backpacker stuff, pancakes/instant noodles/banh mi with egg.

Very cozy, nice, spacious room! Attending staffs are not professional (of course), but helpful and willing to help out with anything you need. Clean beds- but i recommend you bring your own amenities. The food at the place is delicious with huge portion at reasonable pricing! Definitely a good place to stay!

It does take a while to cycle to town though!

It was awesome stay in the middle of rice fields. Rooms are not luxurious, quite simple but if you are going to just sleep there that more than enough. The family is super friendly and helpful :)
Food is good, home cooking and it's quite conviniet because other restaurants are quite far away. They have free bicycles - not great ones but ther are working haha.

We loved our stay - great pool area and view of the sunset! special mention to Dung who was so kind and helpful, she gave us the best customer service we’ve had in our month in Vietnam.

This was my favourite place of stay during my Vietnam trip. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom was especially lovely with the stone interior and the open top shower. We got great breakfast and the staff was super helpful. The place is surrounded by rice fields. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We have had a really pleasant stay here! The view is divine. Such a nice way to wake up and see something so beautiful. The pool is simple but refreshing after a long day. Sy and his wife speak English proficiently. They are both professional and friendly. Our room was squeaky clean. We stayed for 3 nights and they came in once more during our stay to freshen our room up. The dinner they offer is 100k/person and well worth the price. It’s hard to come by such delicious and healthy Vietnamese family style cooking while on the road and it was such a treat. The breakfast is pretty standard for a free breakfast. I appreciate that it was fresh and not greasy. Also they have real butter, not margarine(!) I wouldn’t have minded spending an extra 20k for something more interesting to be honest, but I can’t complain really. Thank you!

Indian here. Stayed here for the paradise cave expedition. Sy helped us for the whole tour, breakfast and dinner also provided help in travel etc. Lovely and big rooms. Hot water. Good food. Vegetables and fruits also available.

Really peaceful stay in ideal surroundings. No frills but absolutely everything you need for a fab few days in phong Nha. Amazing hot choc. Easy to rent a scooter from them for 120K p/day.

We had the best stay here. The location is so peaceful directly in the country side, you can see water buffaloes during the day in the fields. The family is very friendly and offers a lot of services like free bicycles, tours, pick up and motorcycles (of course the ones in the town are cheaper). The breakfast is tasteful specially the pancakes are great. The hot and outdoor shower are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. You feel like in a spa retreat room :) we would definitely come back. Thank you for the great stay. There are so many things to explore here such a great place to visit.

Sy and his family are wonderful. Great food, he made arrangements to visit caves very nicely. Warm, lovely experience. The homestay location is fantastic, and the pool is nice. All praise for Sy!

Words can’t describe my 2 nights at Sy’s Homestay Phong Nha, the real highlight of my roadtrip. I have been welcomed during Tet days and got to share with them Tet, what an experience. Just book there you won’t regret it, if not you don’t know what you miss! Plus the rooms are quiet, nice bed, shower etc. Nice atmosphere in the middle of rice fields. I had a wonderful 2 days there. This place was Greta much more than a homestay, really lovely place with very comfortable rooms. A little bit out of town but you can get a lift easy and they will pick you up if you arrive by bus. Stayed two nights and was definitely the right choice after having it recommended by a friend who was staying there. Food was really good too

Stayed here for two nights and it was awesome! Sy and his family are very generous and willing to help with everything. We arrived at 4:30am and Sy picked us up from the bus stop and check in early! He helped us with tours (which pick up directly from the homestay) and even took us to the Dong Hoi train station when we decided to stay an extra afternoon.

Beautiful place to stay! Just a little bit out of town but bicycles are provided to get anywhere you need to go. The staff are friendly and helpful and Sy and his family make you feel welcome and at home. The breakfast provided is tasty as are the available evening meals. Sy has a lot of relationships with local tour companies and is a great resource when you are planning your time in Phong Nha. The rooms are very comfortable (best sleep during my time in Vietnam so far) and have an amazing view (see picture).
