Hillside View Bungalow

I had with my family such an amazing experience at this cozy place. The owners are the most welcoming, helpful and hospitable people you will ever meet. They were pending on us the whole time, making our time in Phong Nha one of the best experiences of our life. They even picked us from the bus stop at 5.30 in the morning and let us check in as soon as we got there.
Thank you so much for everything and good luck in life! You definitely deserve all the good things.

Great for visiting caves in Phong nha, especially you have own car. The owner is quite friendly and tried their best to serve clients. Rooms are not modern but clean which all we need.
Recommendations: should have more convenient charging points on each bedside as all electronics equipment needed recharge after day using.

We have booked a cooking class with Ngoc, the very friendly owner with great English skills.

Cooking class started with a fun trip to the local market to buy the ingredients.

The food we cooked was very tasty and we ate it in the scenic front garden.

The time with Ngoc was super interesting as for all our curious questions we got helpful explanations.

I can highly recommend the cooking classes here.

A lovely place. Husband and wife also run a fantastic restaurant in the town with delicious and affordable food. The homestay is in a nice location for people using mopeds or motorbikes, with stunning roads and views ready to go and quaint small towns to pass through and stop by. Beds are very comfortable as are the pillows, can be a tad noisy due to traffic at night but for the price you can't beat a stay like this. Very happy we stayed in more than one place whilst in Phong Nha and found this place. They also helped us set up transport to our next location and it ended up being cheaper than we could find online, and with a better sleeper bus than what we found. They also transported our luggage via car so we didn't have to carry on our mopeds. Very kind. (ask hostels/hotels for help to avoid the 2 star sleepers and get the better buses.)

The hosts are really kind and helped us a lot with using their bicycles and picking us up from the busstation. The rooms are really clean and comfortable. Also the swimming pool is nice and big!

We enjoyed our stay here- the value is great. Tuấn and Ngoc are very accommodating and the rooms clean with strong air conditioning. Breakfast is good too. It’s a couple km out of town but we didn’t mind that. The hosts offer transportation to and from town for a reasonable fee, as well as airport pickup and transport to Hue. Would stay here again as an affordable retreat after caving.

The owner Gem NGOC is very good person and can arrange for lot of things at short notice. Husband runs a restaurant in main Phong Nah town

A very nice place to have the best stay in Phong Nha. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. You have a fan in your room and a air conditioner. The beds are although very soft and comfortable. You musst try the traditional food from the menu very delicious. The breakfast is although from the menu and very good - just have a try! You can although rent an scooter for a very good price. We could recommend this nice place - we loved it!

Very nice place, the hosts, Tuan and Nhoc are very warming and give you the most welcoming feeling. They even gave us a few fantastic homemade local dishes! The bungalow was very nice and clean and has everything you need. They are very private and right next to the pool. Its surroundings are truly amazing and its located 2 minutes of Phong Nha. If we had the time to have stayed longer, we definitely did!

This little gem placed in the phong nha mountains. Family run home stay with great views. It consists of 6 bungalows. The hosts are really friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Reasonably priced. Definitely go back here.

Would definitely recommend the Hillside View Bungalow! We rented the private triple room, which was stylish and clean. Came with a bunk and (I think) a queen sized bed. They offered wifi, which was helpful as my provider didn't offer coverage in the mountains. Also air con, a fridge (stocked full of drinks which you had to pay for), free covered parking for motorcycle, and a pool. The staff and family were incredibly welcoming and helpful! Most can speak English too if you need. The free breakfast was a great way to start the day. They offered a selection from a set menu. The only negative thing was we had cold water showers, however once we notified the host he was able to remedy the situation for the most part. It's also slightly far from the city centre if you don't have your own transportation. About a 3-4 minute drive.

Located in the beautiful mountains of Phoung Nha, this is where you want to be while visiting this amazing piece of Vietnam!

The bed is really comfy and the rooms are clean with airco, a fridge and a nice warm shower :)

It’s only a 10 min scooter ride to the centre and there so much more to explore. I.e. Paradise Cave, Botanical Garden + Waterfall and the incredible landscapes.

The hosts are super sweet and will do anything to make you feel at home.
And for a lazy day you can just spend your time at the pool:)

There are some travelers that only want the cheapest bed available and don’t really care about where they sleep, after all their eyes are closed. What does it matter?
There are other travelers that concern themselves way too much with accommodations. These people end up spending so much time in the hotel that they all but miss, the culture and the people whose country they are visiting.
Recently I have come to realize the best way to travel is in a sweet spot somewhere in between. This is definitely how I intend to travel in the future. What I mean is, travelers remember experiences, not facilities. Don’t get me wrong, beautiful swimming pools and adorable bungalows are definitely part of it. But what I am really referring to is meeting and spending time with new people in a new place.
When people tell stories about their journeys, they say things like, “Do you remember the really cute old couple at the bed and breakfast that made us that wonderful tomato soup?” or “We want to tell you about this middle aged couple that we stayed with, at their Airbnb? Her apple pie completely took over all of your senses? And, do you remember how well he played the guitar?
Not many people have repeated conversations about a building. They talk about their experiences with other interesting people. I have met a couple just like that. Ngoc is a bright and cheerful young woman. She and her husband, Tuan are amazing people that are making their dreams come true. On top of owning a truly gorgeous homestay, that is a joy to stay in, Tuan is a respected member of his community and even participates in local team sports, football. Ngoc is also passionate about her dreams, she loves to cook and has her own restaurant (The Lantern). Tuan can make a mean plate of fried noodles with vegetables. Come help these amazing people live their dream.
When you come to Phong Nha you are going to love it anywhere you stay. It has spectacular scenery and wonderful people. But if you ask me, don’t stay just anywhere. Stay somewhere you can tell a story about. The Hillside View Bungalow story is a good story.

Very reasonable price with very nice service. We can have the bikes to ride around for free. What a good location and view. The host is very friendly and helpful 😊❤

I was lucky to be one of the very first guests at the Hillside View. The place is brand new and absolutely gorgeous. The bungalows may be close together, but you get a strong feeling of privacy. Plus the surroundings are beautiful; pictures don't do justice to the incredible views of the Phong Nha National Park.

But for my best memories of Phong Nha I have to thank the owners, Tuan and Nhoc. They were the sweetest hosts, always ready to help us out (Nhoc's English is quite good). For Tet they even invited my friends and me over for several traditional meals; we will definitely ask Nhoc for some of her recipes when we get back home.

Very wonderful place to stay. The room was comfortable and peaceful. The best part of the experience though, was the family that ran the home stay. Gem was thorough with ensuring my stay was great and was generally an incredibly sweet person. Will be visiting again when I come back to Phong Nha.
