Son Doong Riverside Hotel

We came at 5am, and there was a pick up at the bus station for free. We didnt have a booked room for the night we came but only for the night after. Yet they gave us a room at our arrival (where we stayed till end of our booking) so we had a bit of sleep after the night in the bus. We rented a scooter from them, and on the way to the caves we had a flat tire. In 15minutes they were there with a another scooter (and moved our freshly refueled petrol to the new scooter). Another of the nice things at this hotel is that they have around 10 different options for the breakfast, which is much more than is offered elsewhere. On our departure, which was a really hot day, they gave us a fresh bottle of cold water for free for our way. Overall it was really nice there :) Thank you!

Really enjoyed our stay at Son Doong Riverside hotel. Even though we were there during tet the family went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. We were picked up at the bus stop at 5am, given a temporary room so we could get some sleep before our room was ready. The rooms are clean with very comfortable beds. Simple but good breakfast every morning meant we could start our days early. We rented a scooter from the hotel to explore the caves and were allowed to use the cycles for free! They weren’t very pushy on the tours and we felt fine to go explore the caves on our own. We even booked our bus tickets out of Phong Nha with them. The family there is very sweet and kind and though their children had come back home for the holidays they really ensured we were well taken care of. When we reached the dark cave, we were a little short on cash to buy tickets but the owner transferred money to the staff on our behalf and we paid her back when we got to the hotel, such kindness is hard to come by! Couldn’t recommend it more!

We stayed in the river view room for two nights. The service is excellent. I WhatsApp the owner that our bus would arrive after 9pm and they have kindly arranged a car to pick us up free of charge when we arrived. The weather was cold during our stay and the owner lady was very nice offering us extra heater to keep the room warm. The breakfast was freshly cooked after we ordered and very delicious. Highly recommend this homestay in Phong Nha.

We just spent 3 nights here and I highly recommend it. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is fine, but it’s the hospitality that makes it 5 stars. They picked us up from the bus late at night for no extra charge. We booked our cave tours with them and it was excellent. We had a shuttle bus back to Dong Hoi which we also booked through them. I realized I had left my backpack on the bus which had my passport, iPad and cash in it. I was so scared and did not know what to do. I sent a What’s App message to the hotel owner and asked for help. She answered me immediately and talked to the bus driver and told me what to do. I got it back and I am so thankful to her and the great service of everyone at Son Doong Riverside Hotel. I hope to return one day.

Friendly staff, beautiful view, free bikes, very peaceful place and really comfortable beds. Worth the money for sure. 💸

A homey homestay away from home! Comfortable rooms in a very clean guesthouse. Highly attentive and helpful staff who catered well for vegetarians - the food was very tasty. Hue, our homestay 'Mom' was exceptional! The staff will organise any taxis or tours you need. Free access to free bicycles. Chilled out vibes for people looking to relax and enjoy the wonders of Phong Nha :) Definitely recommend this place.

This hotel is the place to be if you are heading to Phong Nha! The hotel/staff is like a whole big family. They do everything to pleasure your stay! It’s also well located next to the river. You can also book the cave trips from here for a fair price! Sand, you are such a nice guy. Stay as you are :) see you!

I couldn’t rate Son Doong higher. Communication was next level, booked our tour for us, everything ran like clockwork and they picked us up and dropped us back to the night bus. Such friendly helpful hosts. AMAZING Thank you.

Clean rooms and showers, lots of great services and beautiful view. They helped us with all our transfers. I will be back for sure !

Had a great 2 night stay here. Picked us up from the bus stop. Our room had an incredible view of the river and the surrounding area and was lovely and clean. The family was very friendly and hospitable.

Lovely view of the river, staff are very friendly, super helpful and always smiling. They gave us great information about activities to do in the area. Motorcycle rental onsite is cheap. Free breakfast was great! Nice clean rooms with a good shower. Possibly our favorite accomodation of our Vietnam holiday

Very nice stay, clean rooms, clean towels, good wifi. Very tasty breakfast included in the price. The owner even let us keep one of two rooms the day after to store our luggage and have a shower after tour to Phong Nha caves (really needed). We also got a free transfer from and to bus station. In the evening we got tasty dinner for a regular price. Would stay here again, all staff very nice and friendly

Had an amazing stay at Son doong riverside. The staff are extremely helpful with recommendations, taxi and motorbike services as well as booking tours. They booked a tour for me very last minute which was my highlight of Vietnam. Breakfast was great and everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back again!

Overall, my travel partner and I had an excellent stay. The hospitality was above and beyond! I wish we could have stayed longer! We booked online via Agoda. Coming from Ninh Binh on the night bus, we were worried about how we would get to the property. The staff was so outstanding. They responded quickly and easily to my messages via Agoda and Whatsapp when I asked about transportation from the bus stop. One of the staff members drove out to pick us up at the bus, even though it was 4 in the morning, and greeted us with a smile. My partner and I didn't want to pay for this night since we thought we would arrive at approximately 7am (the bus was early) and figured we could just begin the day, but the staff let us sleep for a few extra hours in a separate bedroom for free!! They rented out motorbikes for 150,000 VND and happily replaced it when we noticed some issues. (You can pay by card but there is an additional 3% fee) They helped us book a bus ticket to our next destination, too. Furtherore, the beds were comfortable, the water was hot, the room had a nice view and a kettle, and was clean. Excellent value, location, and overall experience.

Rooms were really nice and breakfast was good. Amazing service, the young lad even took our newly purchased motorbike for a test drive to see if it was OK. Really liked the location as it overlooked the river so was lovely in the evening.

The lady that ownes this place is simply amazing. We came to Phong Nha at 10 PM and she proactively offered us a free pickup at the bus station. Right after we arrived to the hotel she helped us choose and book a trip for next day. As we were leaving the next day few hours after our trip she happily agreed to store our baggage. Moreover, she kept one of our rooms available for us and let us take a shower for free before our departure. She also arranged for us a transport from Phong Nha to Ninh Binh for a reasonable price and she took us with her car to the bus station.
Rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast included and delicious. They have also many good options to choose from for a lunch or dinner.

This is one of the best environments I ever lived.
The owner and other staffs are too friendly.

Apart from that, it has an amazing view.

And their foods are also tasty.
