Carter's Country

I was looking to buy my first firearm and i'm glad i chose this place. I was looking for a PDP F-Series with MSRP price and found it. It was a tough choice between the Glock 19 Gen 5 and the PDP F series (same price), but i ended up choosing what i came here to buy which was the latter. The grip on that PDP was absolutely perfect for my small, midget hands.

The young man with brown, spiky hair was courteous and answered all of my questions and needs.

If i ever swing by Houston again (i'm a trucker), i'll be sure to drop by and get the glock 19 if i haven't gotten it already.

6 words : 2 Days, 3 people, 3 guns.

Last Thursday and Friday I had the pleasure of visiting one of my two favorite gun stores, both of which also happened to be within a 2 mile radius of my house. Buy Local and Avoid Big Box Stores, and Collectors. JK love you collectors, was an old Barnes and noble, just you got a lot of other stores ahead of you.

Initially, went in to purchase my Bog Shooting Sticks, and JDewey Cleaning rod, Blackpowder

and afterwards,

I intended to window shop, shelf shop the firearms, if they didn’t have the CZ 452 Jaguar Model, Ruger Mark IV Target 10 inch model, Ruger Mark IV. Never have I owned a 22
LR firearm, and the old quote and adage new year new me new guns.

Highly recommend the above firearms and accessories if you are not the best at off hand, don’t want to carry a gun cradle(tripod/quad pod with a gun cradle, and invest in a tool to take care of your firearms. Not paying for quality cleaning equipment while owning quality firearms, is as ill advised as having a brand new vehicle without having full coverage, or a cheap bike lock on an expensive bicycle. Cmon now!!

On both days Kian, Greg and Angel guided were beyond patient, kind, knowledgeable, and humble enough to answer my plentiful questions, even gracious enough to share their thoughts, opinions on their philosophy of purchase and use. Not only with myself but with other customer as well.

Greg showed me, like after I struggled to understand his directions where the black powder was, he walked beyond the counter and walked me to where it was. All the while being humorous and kind.

I did not see the CZ 452. Walked back and forth at firearms that were on the list of future purchases.

Came across the Winchester 69, saw the price tag, read what it could shoot, examine the bore, clean and bright, bam done deal. Did not see the 9 inch heritage rough rider but ordered one online. Bought a brick of 22 LR and 22 Short. Thank you Keon. At the register, Angel was again so kind, both really made my Thursday. On the way out, I noticed the Ruger 10/22 Takedown stainless model with Ruger bag. It was a “Used” but brand new firearms. Still had factory tags and stickers.

Since it was close to closing had to come back tomorrow.

Friday, saw Angel and Gregg. Glad to see that the Ruger was still. Gregg opened the bag, in it was a brand new scope, camera mount, sling, extra top rails, and extra 30 round banana magazine each in their original box.

Gregg man, lol what a character, ask that guy to come up with some bumper stickers. Like Keon, and Angel, professional, and knowledgeable funny and patient. After asking him and Keon to comment on my ideas on what I’m looking for and why etc, because I want to learn. They handle more guns in a day then I had, have and will ever carry. So they know a thing about some things and work at and for Carters for a reason. And I left happy both days not only for the new firearms, the knowledge I gained and the great experience I had.

I went gun shopping Friday... and I ended up going to one of my favorite places Carter's Country.. The staff was very friendly and helpful.... I ended up liking the new SDS 1911... what a beautiful gun can't wait to hit the range... well until next time signing off Two Peas..

Was helped immediately this Saturday afternoon by Bill, the manager. Place was somewhat busy. All the staff were very nice and helpful. Good selection of equipment, ammo, and firearms. Very clean inside and well lit. Best selection of safes I've seen around. I came in looking for a hard to find item, which they had. I had been around to several stores in the area and absolutely no one else had this in stock. Carter's did though. Price wise, they are comparable to many other places around town. I got what I needed and didn't overpay. It had been some time since I was last in here, but I will be back. The professionalism and kindness of the staff, selection and prices, really made a good impression on me. Thank you to Bill and everyone that helped me today.

Greg helped me get set up for my first hunt by boresighting my rifle and suggesting the proper ammo, as well as going beyond to give practical hunting advice. I like coming here.

A while ago I bought a purse for my wife and paid $250 because it has a leather tag that says genuine leather and they sold it as a purse made of leather. Turns out the purse is not leather, IT’S FAKE SYNTHETIC, these kind of purses should be sold for $35 not $250! What a scam.

I love Carters Country!!!! I was in there Yesterday buying a Fixed Blade Knife for my Buddy for Christmas. Drew him as Secret Santa. The Lady working the counter was super helpful. She let me look at a couple of different knives knowing that i was not ready to purchase. Aloud me to take pictures of all the knives i looked at as well, some places get weird about that. I went back to purchase the knife today on payday. I quickly looked at some competitors websites and they offered the Same Blade for a Discounted price. Same Lady helped me out and she Price Matched the price no problem. Total great experience, will defiantly be back!!!

I just purchased my 2nd S-W, M&P EZ from the store, I got this one, it was a sale called 'Range Pack' ear muffs, goggles, included, for the same price I paid about 8 months ago for my EZ, its a great pistol,
Robert, treated me really good, as well the check out Lady, they were super busy, but helped everyone. I didn't get the Lady's name, but she was fantastic. I've been there for other purchases and never have anything wrong to say. Thanks, for a great purchases experience!

The staff there were very knowledge about the weapons I asked about. I went to purchase another brand but after answering questions about the firearms use I was directed to checkout another brand and caliber. They were friendly and courteous. My purchase was made very quickly and simple. Thanks guys I'm very happy with my purchase.

Very good buying experience I was not going to purchase but to look around to see if they might have what I was looking for and they did. The gentlemen that helped me was extremely well aware of the rifle I was interested in and spent time with me therefore I decided to go ahead and purchase the rifle I had been wanting for quite some years. Overall a great experience.

Just bought a shotgun from Carters Country after I was completely ignored by the employees at Academy for being young. Walked into Carters Country and was instantly greeted by Richard the same guy who helped me with my first purchase there! He answered any questions I had like he did before and definitely cool person to talk to. Definitely know where I'm going and who I'm going to when it's time for a new firearm!

With their products in such high demand I get how a customer service employee or gun expert could get frustrated working among the new shooters or hectic work days in general - that didn't stop the employees at the Katy location of Carter's Country from going out of their way to help me! The Spring location discontinued their layaway but the Katy location and a team member named Glen B didn't hesitate to start the paperwork! He got me on the way to paying off/owning my most coveted AR (before Biden disarms his political enemies) and was helpful throughout! The young lady at the register went above and beyond also with an amazing attitude! Just a great buying experience!

Fast and friendly service in a laid-back atmosphere. Stopped in at lunchtime to make my purchase. Paperwork and all, had me out the door in good time. Rustic decor makes it feel like you're hanging out on your front porch. Good sales too.

I've been a customer of Carter's Country, (Katy Frwy) for 20+ years! Over the years I have purchased more than a few handguns and rifles, along with ammo and accessories. The salesmen are very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. They make you feel right at home! I have ALWAYS enjoyed every visit!

Very nice range and a pretty big store. This place can get busy so be prepared to wait if purchasing a firearm. Prices are reasonable they have a good selection. The range people have always been nice to me and I even watched them help a guy align his scope!

As usual a good experience . Very nice employees. Learned a couple things today . Got ammo it's actually cheaper then academy and was available came for the concealed carry fanny pack . Still outta stock.

After reading the negative reviews I was concerned also; however, Carter Country has been in business in Houston since I moved here over 35 years ago and I don't think they would have stayed in business if they treated customers the way some have indicated. I must say that the diverse staff was responsive, patient, courteous and very helpful. Rick, the sales rep spent a lot of time explaining the pros and cons of the rifles in my targeted budget range. I can be a bit exasperating with attention to detail and questions but Rick was very patient. The other gentleman behind the counter also offered helpful input when requested. I would encourage some who had negative experiences to give them another try. I visited 3 other mass marketing stores; absolutely no comparison in knowledge and guidance.

The sales person that attend to me and my son her name is Donna very knowledgeable very courteous and very accurate with her advice I was really surprised… I will definitely shop at Carter's country again and recommend you too my friends… Still hasn't been delivered but if the delivery and installation are as professional as a sales person... I had the pleasure of meeting that day ... I'm sure I will not have any issues.

I special ordered a pistol and it came in very quickly! But at no fault of carter's country, the magazines it came with were not the correct capacity. They happily switched out the magazines for the correct ones. They were very helpful and customer service was excellent!
