The Philly Game Shop

Just called the store for a game emulator not realizing that this was a board game store. The employee was super kind and actually gave me some recommendations where to go find them. Even if this company doesn’t have what I want. I can tell that they would be extremely helpful for their customers.

I just started attending One Piece TCG locals here after a couple of years of walking past without checking out the store. I've had a great experience so far.

It's got a great atmosphere with really friendly people. Good selection of product. Knowledgeable staff.

This store is also super clean which is a huge plus.

They also go out of their way to be accessible which is great for building a strong, inclusive community.

The events and prizing support are some of the best in the city.

No better way to spend a Sunday than hanging out here for a One Piece local.

Been here once so far at their new location while still remodeling. No complaints. My cashier, Taylor, was friendly. I only came in to buy a MTG LOTR Collector Booster pack. This is a Premium store, so they can sell them prerelease. Plenty of parking available, but on a busy road.

Their new expanded space is absolutely wonderful and the staff is always so friendly. I'm a huge fan of their rewards program and open area for game play. If you're into games and anywhere near south st this is definitely the place to go!

Definitely my favorite local game shop. I mostly play MtG, but they have a pretty thriving scene for lots of different games. Incredible community, and an absolutely beautiful space to shop or play.

This is a great shop! Today I went to their Sunday Afternoon Miniature Painting & Terrain-Making Social to purchase and paint my first ever mini. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I felt very welcomed as I entered and enjoyed the entirety of my stay. They gave me tips and encouraged me while I painted the mini, and it came out so good. I really love it and I will most certainly be back to purchase and paint another. Thanks, The Philly Game Shop!

Board game night here this Saturday was so cool. I got to play a board game I've never played with two people I'd never met.

One of the employees, Emmanuel, noticed that we were having trouble understanding the game. He set the board game up for us and explained the rules and checked in on us to make sure we weren't having issues.

What a great way to spend a Saturday evening. Thank you!

Please please please please visit this cute little game store! Please support them because, well they're awesome! Once i saw the unicorn knight logo, i knew I had to stop in while visiting. They have a nice selection of games, a demo room (whatttttt???) And a nice selection of demo games to try. Once we left, we noticed a sign on the next building, the store was moving to a larger space. So excited for them.

Every Saturday they do a free board game night, great turnout and lots of free games to try out

Premier game shop with loads of events. Welcoming vibes and very chill staff. If you’re into mtg especially, this is the place to go around here. I’m a beginner but really love coming here!

This new location is amazing! Visit PGS to browse hundreds of games and chat about them with the kind and knowledge staff, see the cool art and decorations, play with new and old friends at the tables, and shop the (INCREDIBLE!) sticker collection which features local Philly artists!

Very nice staff, they know a lot about cardgames, board games, and other stuff as well. They often have free stuff near the entrance. If they don't sell certain games they would recommend where to buy it, which I find extremely helpful and I couldn't even ask for something like this and I will go back to this place whenever I need something board game related.

The staff were so helpful!! We couldn’t have had a better experience. We asked for suggestions and they took us around the store explaining and showing us their favorite games for our requests. They were so kind and they had good selection, we will definitely be returning!

Great game store. Very clean and welcoming. They have back rooms and a large play room in the front.

PGS is one of my favorite game shops in the area. Very LGBTQIA+ friendly and inclusive. They've expanded their swag (pins, stickers, etc) offerings recently which I love and it's hard to resist buying things when I go there. They have a curated supply of games that always has something new. I've participated in some of their MTG events as well. I most recently participated in Friday Night Magic (FNM) in their draft. It's a fun way to play Magic. They also have a back room for folx who are looking to run longer games or other table top rpg style games.

This is a great place to play games and chill. The staff was super friendly and informative. The cost was $5 per person for playing the used games. I definitely recommend coming here. Heads up, face masks are required here so don’t forget your mask

They are very well organized when it comes to MTG games and tournament organization.

Also super helpful in tips for playing Dungeons and Dragons, And also miniature painting. Easy to get to the bus from here, and plenty of good eats around.
