Handy True Value Hardware

I live at Handy, between projects at home and doing side jobs for friends. Sure it's a few bucks more than running to the big places but saves me time & gas almost always. Also Nick does All my computer work and is awesome.

This is one is the best places to go to find your everyday house hold needs. The workers become like family, if you go there enough. They are always ready to help. They are never rude or aggressive. They don't try to sell you things you don't need. They listen to what you want and take you to it. They have more things than you would think also. They have products to rent to help fix up your home. I love this store and the employees.

This is a great hardware store to quickly get handyman supplies. It’s a bit more expensive than Menards, but the convenience is worth it.

Came home to a busted water valve under the kitchen sink and water spraying everywhere. Tim saved Christmas this year by not only selling us exactly what we needed in a single trip, but also walking us through the process to fix it ourselves. He saved us $370 or more, and I could not be more grateful or recommend this place any higher.

I can't say enough nice things about the staff here. Instead of searching for help, as I have to do at the other True Value store, they immediately engage me as soon as I walk in the door. They provide great advice and always help me load my car. Also, their delivery fees are exceptionally reasonable. Menards quoted me $450 to deliver a pallet of mulch (just delivery), Handy quoted me $25!

I've never had a problem at Handy True Value. The staff is ready to help. Inventory is varied, always useful items for home, lawn, garden. Great cleansers, keys made, scissors and saws sharpened. Helpful, knowledgable.
You can count on it, I'll be back!

I have used this True Value store for many years. Purchased paint ,tools , hardware and many equipment rentals. We have never ever had an unpleasant experience. Great staff and great inventory. Thank you to them for helping us like they do.

Just walked out of here after buying some hardware/tools for a brake job I'm doing this weekend and I'm thoroughly impressed. I've never been to this store before but you would have thought I was family, an employee greeted me, asked me what I needed and then actually took me around the store to find everything I needed instead of leaving me to wander aimlessly. A++ service, better than any other store I've tried. Made a lifetime customer today!

I love this store. It is our go-to place for anything we might need in the hardware category, plus some. All of the employees go the extra mile to make sure that we get what we're looking for.

Everyone was very friendly and Helpful For home repairs

Forget the big box stores, especially if you aren't sure you know exactly what you need or where it is! This place is fantastic. Employees came up to me asking if I needed assistance, I didn't have to chase anyone down from 4 departments away. Not only was I assisted in finding what I needed, but I was educated on different products and benefits/drawbacks for my project.

Always super helpful staff. They make sure they understand what your needing and help find a solution.

i love going to True Value they're awesome very knowledgeable and have just about everything today's trip was for having keys made one is a tough one which is my motorcycle key and they actually had it and cut it . great job guys thank you

This is one of the few real hardware stores still around where you get one on one service. Them hard times find hardware parts true value will have them......

Always a good experience here. Maybe some money could be saved at other places, but the employees here are knowledgeable and friendly. It may be a national chain, but it has the neighborhood feel & staffed by good people.

A very nice "Ma & Pa" type of hardware store. Had all my needs and very helpful employees. Wish they were in Galesburg.
