Longview Park

Longiew Park is wonderful.. at sunset it was busy with energetic young Rock Island families, moving around on the playground. Pet owners were walking the hilly paths with their dogs. A polite group of Teenagers were gathered around their parked cars. And a few older parents sat watching the younger ones.

The park grounds were well managed with clusters of naturalistic grass, mixed with squirrels, groomed grass and trimed trees. I could see the rest rooms appeared to be safe and open, but I did not go in. I think, Longview park is at its seasonal peak for maximum experience.

Then I searched for that one location, at this golden moment for the greatest long view. I found it.. I could easily see Iowa, Illinois and the Centennial Bridge over the Mississippi River. Centennial Bridge popped as it reflected the sun in this dry evening air.

The grestest long view location will change with each sunset. But if you have the time to search for it.
You may be rewarded with a present tense moment that is better than looking at a cell phone.

I did not take a picture of my greatest long view. Because, I did not want this memory in my phone. I wanted in my mind.

Well Done park department for Longview park.

It's a park😏...it's clean, spacious, picnic space & coverings. Pool wasn't too crowded, priced fare.

A great pool, great environment!! The water slides were a big hit with our group as well as the different areas for both children and adults to enjoy swimming!

Really nice park! Besides the disc golf course being a little messed up, it's extremely hard to find the markers on where to start for each hole. Some of the holes are oddly close to each other but that's probably because I can't find where to start! 😅

Longview park is a wonderful family park to visit have fun enjoy family and relaxation and also just to let the kids play and run. It has been a place that I grew up going to playing And going sledding down double Dutch Hill. I recommend this park to anybody who wants to see all nature's beauty in one place as well as give your kids a fun and enjoyable day in the park.

Really nice park with incredible views. Looking around you can see the splendor that this park must have had at one point. The features and views are still really good. The trees are magnificent even though they were not planned great as they block what must have been even better views of the area in the past. Some of the features are a bit run down but have been repurposed. The old fountain is now a statue and the old greenhouse is now a wonderful garden.

Great park! Take the kids there often. That is our go to park being it’s right down the street.

Nice park with slides,swings for the children several tree shades a beautiful view calm and serenity. Small green house with remember stones.

This is one of the better parks for frisbee golf in the Quad cities. Also, they have water park, which is well-kept, and plenty of room for individuals to enjoy.

A city of Rock island has a hard-working crew that keeps all of Rock island parks looking nice and Longview is no exception. As the name implies the views from this Park are amazing. Yet you do not want to ignore the up close views. Beautiful flower gardens, the lions, the greenhouses, and as I just discovered, this giant copper ball. A truly wonderful place to spend a few hours. It's also a great place to park your car and just take a walk around the city and enjoy the sights and sounds and delightful aromas that this fine city has to offer. Do not hesitate to say hi to the friendly citizens of the beautiful city of Rock Island. Truly a jewel of the Midwest.

The best memories of my childhood stem from this park, can see all over fron the high hills. Have overall great memories of the park and still making new ones.

Love this park for so many reason! My son loves playing Pokémon Go there, the play grounds are nice, we plan to check white water junction out next summer and I'm excited to check out the greenhouses some more throughout the year.

Great time at the pool, and there is lots for kids to do at the park.

Very fun place to take your kids. I took my niece and my great nephew from Mpls and she was very impressed with the waterpark and pool. Her son got to go on nearly everything by himself and he is only 4 years old. I even had a blast at my age!! The staff was nice and very helpful with any questions we had. I would highly recommemd White Water Junction above all pools in the Quad Cities.

Longview is a Gorgeous park. They have a Big area that has picnic tables. U do need to rent out this place. The view of the Centennial Bridge all lit up and night is soo pretty

Great playground, giant sandbox with "fossils" for the kiddos to dig. Both big kid and baby swings as well as slides of both sizes. Great park for all ages.

Company picnic.....pavilion, electricity, bathrooms, playgrounds, paved parking, ramps for handicap , trash cans, beautiful hilltop view of the Mississippi River, trees, nice place to be. It was 84* and we had a really nice breeze all afternoon.

This park is in my childhood memories for our school field trip to WWJ. We would eat here & play for a while before we would walk down to WWJ. This park is long enough to walk down the hill and up if you are looking for a cardio workout. It's also a nice view on 4th of July.
