Absolute 5 star. I was able to order over the phone, as I don't live anywhere near them. I bought some OP packs, and the packaging was amazing. The packs were put in solid plastic boxes, which are reusable, and completely protect the packs. This is my first order, but I will be a returning customer as often as possible. Amazing customer service, and Drew, the owner, is a really nice dude. Highly recommend.

Very impressive store. I went in looking for Lorcana and Star Wars Unlimited cards. My wife loves Stitch and is interested in the Lorcana game. I was told The gift set I was looking for is not worth the money and I was better off buying a starter deck. They gave me a couple stitch cards for my wife to build her set. Great customer experience!

Incredible inventory paired with excellent customer service! The owners and staff are very knowledgeable and and are happy to help you find exactly what you need. All events hosted at the store are well worth attending due to both the positive community and the amount of effort put into the events.

Lots of fun games, figures and trading cards including helpful people who explain what each card holder or card type for magic does.

Super fair in pricing as well since they go by tcgplayer for single card prices and round down to the nearest number. I just got 2 fun MTG cards for fun there yesterday.

As a local family owned business' owner myself I understand Drew and his Wifes buisness. They are amazing at what they do here in the community. I have been in a couple times since they took over the company and I will say things are great. Today Drew purchased some items from my personal sealed collection and he was very fair and honest. Matrix Cards and Games is a paradise for both trading card and board game enthusiasts. I still remember walking into this haven for gamers around 12 years ago, immediately captivated by the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. Alan and Terri, the owners at the time, were super helpful, inviting, and friendly.

One of the first things that caught my eye was the selection of trading cards lining the shelves behind the counter, from classic collectibles such as Magic the Gathering and Pokémon to the latest deck-building releases, from sealed products to binders full of singles. The organization of the card selection was amazing, making it easy for beginners and seasoned wizards to quickly navigate the plethora of options available.

The board game section was equally impressive. The shelves were adorned with an array of board games, ranging from timeless classics to the latest strategic masterpieces. Alan and Terri demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the games, always ready to offer recommendations based on player preferences and skill levels. They also offered store copies where players could sit down (Sometimes even with the owners) and try out a game before purchasing.

In terms of pricing the shop has always been competitive, and they often had special promotions and discounts.

Even with this amazing selection of products at prices, I think what truly set Matrix Cards and Games apart was its dedication to fostering a sense of commuting among its gamers. This is something big box stores can never accomplish. The shop regularly hosted gaming events, tournaments, and release parties, creating a space where players could come together to share their passion. The inclusion of dedicated gaming tables in the store encouraged customers to try out new games, learn from one another, and forge lasting connections within the gaming community. I have to say some of the best friendships I have were fostered at Matrix Cards and Games.

Recently the shop has been purchased by new owners, Kaylee and Drew. I was really sad to see Alan and Terri leave, I have established a great relationship with them and considered them to be one of those friendships I gained while coming to the shop. However, even with the recent purchase Kaylee and Drew have not only managed to maintain the greatness I mentioned above but expand upon it, and I'm looking forward to seeing what other great things they bring to the community.

In short, if you are looking for the best card and board game shop in Redding California then look no further. I guarantee you will not find another shop with such a wide selection of products and a great atmosphere.

Stopped in while visiting from out of town and glad I did! They have a lot of sealed product and a good selection of Pokemon singles. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I definitely would recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!

This place is great! Alan and his wife are so kind and generous with their time and knowledge. The selection is well curated and diverse, games, RPGs, supplemental materials, miniatures, paint and modeling supplies, dice, collectible card games and so much more. I grew up going to comic and game stores, this place is a slice of nerd nostalgia and it's served up with an ample dose of kindness and an earnest desire to help you enjoy a game or hobby. They offer a variety of discounts on items to allow for closer to Amazon pricing but honestly I would gladly pay full boat for the experience and customer service. Thank you for being part of the community and sharing so many cool things with us all.

Update 2024
Alan and Terri sold to an amazing couple, Drew and Kaylee. They kept all the amazing customer service and engagement and added new flare with a new website, a discord server and new events. I cannot say enough how lucky our town is to have entrepreneurs who care about the community and their business.

This is a jewel of Redding. They are incredibly helpful, very knowledgeable and their prices are great. We probably got better deals here than we could of on Amazon. And their MTG room…. Yes! Wish we had something like this in our town

Im happy to say that Matrix Cards and Games is my local shop. I've met friends and the owners are super nice. I play at all their Pokémon organized events, so should you. See you then.

This shop is amazing! The staff is extremely helpful and know what they are talking about. It was a pleasure to work with Kaylee, she took the time to talk to me about different items and helped me find the perfect dice for D&D as well as some other items. Very knowledgeable and a clean store. Overall great experience and I will definitely be shopping here again!

I intentionally buy as many games here as possible instead of Amazon or big chain stores because the owners are a wealth of knowledge and the customer service is exceptional. Go here. Support this business. Enjoy some awesome games you may have never found without their recommendation.

It's been awhile since I've been here, so to see the arm expanded store space was wonderful. If you're into desktop games, role playing games, collectible card games, or miniatures this is the place to come for Redding on north in California. The owners seem incredibly knowledgeable, and are very helpful and pleasant. They offer several discounts on their different products, and it looks as if these may change monthly (so if you're travelling a distance to get here it may be worth your while to give them a call).

An amazing store with an equally amazing staff. My family and I paid a visit and were treated very well, especially my wife, who was there to purchase new dice for her birthday. Drew and his staff were awesome and my wife's expierience was fantastic. The available games and extras are top notch and any folks coming in will be spoiled for choice. Definitly my go to spot.
