Natural Grocers

Natural Grocers is our go-to place for healthy supplements and organic food. They have a huge selection of vitamins, supplements, and homeopathy products, a bigger selection than any other store around here. From heart, wellness, cough and cold, and everything in between. Lots of fresh produce, frozen foods, and healthy foods, even for pets. This store is rarely busy, hardly ever a line, and easy to get in and out of. All the employees are knowledgeable about what they have in inventory. Even a decent beer selection.

I like coming here because it's a big store with alot of natural organic selection, kid friendly my son runs through curious about all the different products you don't see at a usual grocery store like Safeway, prices can be a bit steep but, if you download the app you can save quite a bit while accruing points to also add towards your bill later, staff is always ready to help, and you don't get a stuck up crowd like what I usually get from other places that are similar, I enjoy frequently going there and will continue to

This is where I buy fresh organic fruit and vegetables in Portland. Compared to Whole Foods - slightly better quality and about half price for avocado, apples, and kale. Their store brand of organic coffee/nuts/seeds/olive oil etc is a great deal and excellent quality.

I've been shopping here for a few years now. I actually prefer going here vs. the coop. It's a coop without all the meetings. However, I may have to reverse course. The security service must be bored or something because I get followed and hovered over by security contractors... going on about two years now. I work in retail, so I get why they have a security service, however one or two guards in particular act as though I'm a suspect. Maybe if I walk slower?? Sustainable products, good prices, just be prepared to be followed while you shop.

I'm plugging the Natural Grocers store on MLK and NE Alberta for product selection over New Seasons and Whole Paycheck - and I believe it's a Black owned business. Crazy large bodycare section, flavors of products you didn't know existed, great produce, not crowded. I went in last night and got wowed. Grassfed organic yogurt in beautiful glass containers? Yes, I'm *that* Portlander. 😉 I was excited to see more Weleda products sold than anywhere else. Ancient Grain GF pizza that is my favorite and discontinued elsewhere. Multiple flavors of the dairy free gf cheezecakes. Insanely large supplements section. It takes a bit to navigate a very different store and layout. Update: I wish they'd restock things before running out.

The prices are great here and they have many good sales. The produce is fresh and they only carry healthy product’s which I appreciate. The staff are friendly too.

Excellent prices on organic foods, including produce, dairy, grains, and meats. Huge supplement selection. Good wine selection tucked away in the corner. Spacious and spartan—quite a contrast from New Seasons and Whole Foods. Natural Grocers is all about quality food and low prices. Sometimes you will have to wait a few minutes in line to check out but it's worth it. They have no disposable bags so bring reusable bags, or you can take cardboard boxes from the cashier.

The people who work here are super friendly and the the groceries they sell are healthy. I like this store, a person who I used to date introduced me to these stores

My favorite grocer in portland. They refrigerate whole grain and nuts so they don’t go rancid. Excellent prices on kale. No BS ingredients in any of the food. Amazing staff, essential oils, wines, organic beers.
Should be part of everyone’s shopping routine

Pricy but great food very vegan friendly

A fave grocery store, but it would be better if I was much wealthier 😅 I would spend so much more money if I could cause they basically have everything I'd want from a grocery store. I mean, everything.
All of the food that I enjoy, all the supplements that I need, and even all the home supplies and beauty supplies that I would love to own (great skin-care brands too).

They have a beautiful selection of produce. especially mushrooms, which I love. The produce is very fresh and clean.

I love this store. They’re bulk options and prices are unmatched! My only critic is that they don’t play music in the store and most of the employees barely talk to you.

Do you ever just love going to a certain store and not really know why? This is how Natural Grocers is for me. They just seem to be so genuine in their offerings. I believe they are still family owned which I'm sure is part of it. Megaliths like Whole Foods and New Seasons have lost their appeal to me after frequenting them for many years. So corporate. Natural Grocers devotes too much space to vitamins in my opinion, but even that doesn't detract from the overall good vibe of this place. All the produce is organic and not always perfect, just real. I also never have to stand in a line out front waiting for somebody to leave so I can go in. Keep it real Natural Grocers!

Yes!!!!!!!. They have the tinctures I need/want in my life. They were quite helpful on the phone also. Knowledgeable staffing also. Good spot. Not too big and overwhelming either.

For what they have, they are great. It's amazing that some of the prices can be so much lower than new seasons, and I think that's what people who knock this story need to understand, they do a few things really well, but they can't do everything, especially with the cost of running a store in Portland. You can get your hot food and salad bar elsewhere. Often prices in supplements are better than Amazon. Great addition
