The Buzzed Word

On both of my trips to Ocean City, MD this winter, I visited this store. It is a wonderful gem!! There is an eclectic selection of books, wonderful wines, and a very friendly owner to greet you and make you feel right at home. There are handwritten reviews in many books which pique your interest.
I bought many for family and friends for Christmas gifts. Just today I found one which had me laughing out loud - had it not been displayed so well, I may never have found it.
If you are a book lover, a wine lover, or both, please give this nice young woman your business. It is worth the visit. You will find your shoulders relaxing, time moving a little slower and books awaiting a new home...and you can even sit a bit and sip some wine. It doesn't get better than that!

Thank God for this little paradise in Ocean City. It’s a wine bar and book shop all in one. I love The Buzzed Word for two really good reasons:

1. I love reading and the selection of books here are awesome. Such a wide variety, something for everyone, and most have a handwritten note from the owner on a little bit of what to expect about the book like a mini review or why it’s a great read and things like that. I LOVE that personal touch about this place.

2. The wine. I can drink wine anywhere…sure. But the wine selection here is SO good. Undoubtedly, the best wine selection in Ocean City but that’s just my opinion. Really delicious wines, organic wines, and unique wines that have expanded my horizons so much. And everyone there is super helpful and knowledgeable on wines, notes, and recs on what to drink which I appreciate a lot!

Come here to hang with friends and have some drinks, come here to sit and read with a glass of wine, pick up a new book, a bottle of wine to go, or find some fun little treasures to buy (so many cute things in there and I’ve seen some really cool retro / vintage things to buy too. Oh, and please please go to the bathroom (paying customer) when you visit and read the beautiful poems framed on the wall.

They have light snacks and other things to drink besides wine. Parking is never an issue.

Always an amazing time and experience at The Buzzed Word, no matter how long the visit! Easy for a quick stop for a book or a relaxing time unwinding with a glass of wine. The staff is always friendly and accommodating! The Buzzed Word has become a quintessential stop each time when being in OC. Can’t talk it up enough 👍

I love wine and I love books! The staff was easily accessible if needed but didn't interrupt my browsing. There are written recommendations from the owner/ staff in some books which was charming and gave a "small town" book shop feel. There isn't a more perfect place for a book lover.

The Buzzed Word, a new staple Natural Wine Bar & Bookstore in North Ocean City, has an outstanding product selection and a delightful atmosphere. This is the perfect spot to shop for books and natural wine, enjoy a glass while reading at the bar or lounge area, or host/attend a book club. Mickie’s wine selection is all natural, organic wines with no added sugars or pesticides used. An awesome must check out spot for locals and tourists !!!

Gorgeous wine bar and bookstore with some jewlery and chocolate as well as cheese boards to pair with the wines. The owner has impeccable taste in both wines and books from her time as a writer and reviewer. The ambiance is very chill and intimate. This is legitimately one of the most beautiful spots I've seen in OC and can't recommend it enough!

Second time here and I've found unique books each time. If you like wine and books, you can drink as you browse. They have some unique wines as well. Found a sangria for my dad with an interesting history. The woman that runs the place is always nice and helpful. And they have some banned books as well that I haven't seen elsewhere.

Worth the visit! Wine AND Books, what could be better? Nice selection of wines for the varied pallets in our party. Staff was knowledgeable about both books and wine. Comfortable seating groups around the store.

An amazing little spot for book lovers and wine lovers! They even have adorable little gifts, and local art! Great place to hang out!

A dream store! Incredible selection of natural wine and the owner knows so much about it. Really great books and recommendations of books. The snacks are upscale and delicious. Very cool, mid-century modern decor. Gold flatware and gorgeous marble bar with velvet seats. Perfect space for private events as well. Great, trendy place to hang out—much needed for Ocean City!

Awesome little book store with a limited but good selection. I loved how the highlighted staff picks with hand written reviews.

The energy level is great in this small space with people sipping on wine, while others scanning the bookshelves. The decor was fitting and I loved the wallpaper towards the back near the bathrooms. Very unique bookstore all around.

Such an incredible experience with each visit to The Buzzed Word! Amazing service, delicious food and a continuous variety of wines that never disappoint. Make sure to add this wine bar and bookstore to the list of places to go when visiting OC!

What a gem. If you're a lover of fantastic natural wine and great books, plan to spend at least a few afternoons here while you're in OCMD. Mickie, the owner, knows her wines inside and out, and has curated an amazing selection of bottles. Glass after glass (after glass) was a homerun.

My favorite part was the hand-written tasting notes hung from almost every bottle--the way she writes about wine, you'll want to read them all. On top of that, a wide variety of books and great snacks makes this the perfect hangout spot. A must visit!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I love this place and I wish I lived closer to OC so I could go more often. I think this is an excellent idea to be able to drink wine while you read/browse books and I can't wait to go back and enjoy the atmosphere of this awesome store ❤

A gem in ocean city. The owner knows books and wine. We did a wine flight and a Bordeaux. Found three great reads and will be back soon. So happy ocean city has the book store to visit now.

Walked down from my condo and was not disappointed. I didn't partake in any of the beverages but I did love looking around the shop. They have hand written reviews from the workers in a lot of the books. I ended up buying some used books outside but was able to make a list of books I want to read based on their recommendations. It's a must see if you are a female book lover!

This place speaks to two of my loves ... wine and books! I was going to visit a winery while visiting OCMD for the first time but found this place and was intrigued. Had a glass of wine and browsed the book collection. Also bought three books since I couldn't pick just one. Friendly staff too! I will come back on my next trip here.

This bookstore has an amazing selection of contemporary books! They also have several hand written reviews highlighting employee favorites and recommendations. Both of those two things separate this bookstore from the rest of them for me. Quite honestly, this is everything I always wanted a local bookstore to be. Definitely cannot wait to visit again during my next stay at OCMD, but will be following along social media to keep seeing their recommendations in the mean time :) (and probably shipping a book or two to Jersey!)

Great atmosphere and vibes. The owner was so nice🌹 and accommodating. This place is my kind of wine 🍷 down 😌. They had great book and wine options. I highly recommend visiting this small business. We were on a girls trip🩷 and this was a great addition to the experience ❤

Stopped in here after picking my telescopes up. Charming local business with great wines that each has a tag with a write up about the unique characteristics. Prices are very reasonable.
