Woods Hole Market & General Store

We are yearly visitors to East Falmouth from Canada and never miss visiting Woods Hole. We have lunch at The Market and General Store several times during our time here. We love this charming and friendly place and enjoy eating on the back deck. Absolutely the BEST lobster rolls very generous portion.

Hidden Treasure in Wood's Hole!! This is a fully stocked grocery store, the only one in Woods Hole or vicinity for several miles, with a great selection of fresh veggies and produce, drinks and snacks, and sundrys. There is a full deli with pizza, fresh homemade soups, wonderful fresh hot or cold sandwiches made to order while you wait. Fresh pastries brought in daily from Hyannis. The real shocker however is the doc and deck out back! Order your hot fresh food and pick out a drink and a side and then carry it out back to eat on the lovely dock or climb the stairs and there is an absolutely gorgeous deck overlooking The lagoon with local scenery to die for! You would never know all of this was here just by driving past on the street. I rented a bicycle in Falmouth and rode the four easy miles up the rail trail which comes out right at the woods hole steamship parking lot. Super convenient! if you are staying in Falmouth and want to take the ferry to Martha's vineyard, this would be an especially scenic, enjoyable, and convenient way to do so. there would be a much cheaper fair on the boat versus taking a car because you are considered a pedestrian. You can explore Martha's vineyard on a bike or by foot and then take the ferry back. Then go downtown and enjoy this wonderful dining experience or just pick up some provisions. I had a fabulous dinner for under $20 wirh an incredible view. Do yourself a favor and eat here. You won't be sorry. Fantastic selection and super friendly staff! Then go down to Rocky Beach to take in the sunset!

Such a great find! It’s a grocery store that also sells warm food. You place your order on a piece of paper and give it to the kitchen.
Wait 5-10 minutes and your meal is ready. They even have great seating in the back right by the water. What more can you ask for?

If you are in woods hole, you have to go here at least once during your stay. Surrounded by expensive, mediocre restaurants, the market is a no frills place for sandwiches and some great pizza. The best part is their back deck! The second level gives you the best views on the cove. And the pizza is made with fresh dough and amazing cheese.

After going with my family, we took the extended family the next night because no one else has tried the market for dinner before. We sat on the second level deck where they have an awning and gorgeous plants. We even saw a hummingbird coming for a sip from the flowers. We will all be coming back now year after year.

Hidden treasure for sure! They have an amazing menu of warm sandwiches and you can eat outside with a pretty view. Rueben and smoked brisket on a brioche bun were delicious!

I literally go here almost every day during the summer. They are amazing and every single person who works here is so nice. They make super good burgers and sandwiches and have a ton of snacks. On the top that have a really pretty place to eat. You should 10000% go here if you are in woods hole.

Being "a local" means, you live in our little Woods Hole community All Year, Year Round. Year, after Year, after Year...the WH Market has incredibly fresh ingredients that they turn into awesome Pizzas, Salads, Sandwiches, Subs & Wraps. Get a pizza and hang out upstairs and enjoy the view of eel pond, or get your order to go and take it home. $13 for a Cobb Salad, yup. The best you'll ever have! $11 bucks for an Italian Sub? yup again, worth it! $19 bucks for a giant 16" cheese pizza? yup, yup and yup again! My recommendations...The Philly Cheese Steak, Meatball, and Italian. The pizza is out of this world! Home made sauce and dough (not a joke, it is real home made). Crust is medium thin NY style and toppings are fresh. 100% recommend!!

It's a wonderful place with wonderful people. The staff cater to your needs with a selection that is by far better than anything you can get at woods hole. Great deli!! Awesome sammies!!!

It's a great little gem in the middle of the town. The produce is always fresh and the sandwiches are out of the world. Very inexpensive and filled with meat. The staff are very courteous and serve with a smile. You can find souvenirs here as well.

we get the chicken caesar wraps every time we go to the beach down here. always delicious! great stop for cold drinks and yummy pastries too.

Got the chicken parm sub that was top notch. They were very busy and it took about 20 mins. If you're trying to catch a ferry, ask them how long.

Great Menu. Year around. ACROSS from MBL. Friendly as well. Portuguese Linquisa & Kale Soup . Beans added. nice warm up on a midwinter day. Lunch with Rachel is always special. Somebody's Play List made for a musical ambience. The Help too 💥💥💥💥💥

This is what stores used to be. Everything you want or need in a small independently owned gem. Prepared foods are truly prepared before your very eyes by people who like to please the customer..Support individual owners and avoid multinational box stores. Buy Locally Think Globally.
