BEST FISH MARKET ON ISLAND!!! I can't say enough positive things about John's- the Obama burger is AMAZING, get it as is no substitutions, and the fish at the counter couldn't be fresher! These guys are a longstanding family business- It's hard to find a fishmonger that knows what they're doing and also are great chefs themselves, which creates an infallible skill set in a fish market- all the staff are so nice, have great sense of humor and I always leave there with a new tip about the fish im eating and how to prepare it. I've made the best bluefish dinners from their catch!!

Our first and last stop every season. Kindest counter service on the Vineyard matched with the best food. Must try the seared tuna sandwich. It's to die. Their single oysters are a treat as well. Love! Thanks Johns :)

Ok, so I’ve had lobster rolls all over MV and Cape Cod. Sandy’s lobster roll is by far the best! No fillers, perfectly toasted bun with an abundance of lobster! I may or may not have had 5 in my 15 days this year. And probably just as many last summer. Today I tried The Obama burger! I will say, Michelle would probably not approve but I did! Every single bite was perfect! Thank you to all the employees. Samantha is amazing! The food is all homemade, not frozen and heated. They are super friendly even when others are not. Be kind, people. See you next year, ladies.

Friendly and great product. What more could you want. They’re now my go to for fresh seafood, especially for off season. I went there the last two years before thanksgiving and got some amazing catches because let’s be honest, on the vineyard, turkeys can stay in the yard instead of going in the oven. It’s a fisherperson’s world here ✨

Great selection of fish, and their crab cakes are delicious! We got the grilled tuna sandwich and it was had a generous amount of fish. This was the best fish sandwich I've had in a long time, especially for only 11.50!

Excellent seafood market and food counter. One side for picking up fresh fried seafood dishes. The other side is the market. Nice staff. Probably one of the best spots to eat or shop on the island.

Now, I’m biased because New England seafood is ok at best when you compare it to the different fish down south, lobster aside. However, this is a place I would take my mother to eat. I’ve eaten all those seafood stores in the different towns in MV but they are overpriced, over cooked, and underwhelming. This little seafood haven is worth the trip. Ridiculously good prices, a huge selection of fresh fish AND prepared dishes, and the overall package can compete with the best restaurants down south. 15/10 I recommend.

This was our first stop off the ferry to Martha vineyard.
We met the owner Glenn and got a little bit of history about the place.
My husband came here for the whole belly clams and cohogs.
I had the salmon wrap with lemon dill sauce and crab cakes. Delicious

Amazing place for lobster rolls. This place has no frills. No bathrooms, no alcohol, no indoor seating. Just unadulterated great food. Nothing else beats it!

The onion straws were beyond amazing - I’d go back just for those! The flounder sandwich was a great value and the coleslaw was perfectly balanced and moist!

Jumbo lobster is good and with great price. People who work here are nice. Noted that the hot food section (Sandy's Fish and Chips) is not open on Sundays.

Excellent fried seafood, perfectly seasoned! I would say this is my favorite place on the island for takeout fried seafood. There is a small area outside to eat, if you can't wait to get home! Portions are great!

Delicious and fairly priced prepared food. They do a great fry job---probably the best on the island---but the tuna sandwich and the various dinners are delicious and a good deal. Good chowder, too.

As of Summer 2021, they---like everyone else on the island---were having trouble with staffing, so they were serving a restricted menu on Wednesdays (no fry). If you're jonesing hard for fried clams, maybe call first?

Ok- make your vacation and get fried fish here. Fantastic, fresh- great crispy crust, some oil but not in a bad way- generous portions - prices are fair. Make sure you tip- staff works hard!

We had a delicious lunch and ate outside. The Mahi sandwich, Tuna sandwich, Halibut sandwich were all fresh and perfectly cooked. After lunch we got crab cakes to go for dinner. They were full of crab, very little breading.

I LOVE their cajun fries 😍😍 Their cheeseburgers are great too, was actually medium like I ordered. Most places it doesn't matter how you want it cooked it's always grey in the middle🤢. They also have a great selection of fish sandwiches and fried seafood, as well as fresh caught fish. Great friendly and funny staff and very reasonably priced. Burger, fries and a ice cream cone for 15 bucks, and I was happy with everything I got! All around just a great place to grab some yummy food.

John's Fish Market gets high marks for the fish market and their take out restaurant. The fish market has a great selection of locally procured seafood, customers benefit from generations of knowledge in seafood, and I trust whatever I buy there, will be fresh and handled properly.

And let me say, John's has the BEST fried clams, hands down. I highly recommend the tempura shrimp with their Sunshine sauce - ask for extra sauce, you'll thank me, lol. Excellent menu variety and soft serve ice cream. Don't miss out on their fried clams!!!
