What a thrill! The whales were out in force, playing and bluffing each other. A Mama was teaching her wee one to breach. The crew could not have been nicer! They have water and snacks and drinks. We were able to hear them talking which was worth the price alone! #1 thing to do on this island with the #1 company. Once in a lifetime

Peak Whale Season - better than imagined!
Our 3-hr Sail Deluxe cruise had lots of whale sightings, plus a nice lunch. Sufficient room to move around catamaran for best views of whales. We saw lots of mother/calf groups, some with male escort. Also saw competition pod behavior (group of rowdy males following close behind leading female). Knowledgeable staff, environmentally conscious group, respectful of whales and Ma'alaea Bay.

10/10 would recommend this amazing tour. I did the Molokini Crater snorkel through our cruise ship excursion and it did not disappoint. From the wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable staff to the incredible views and bonus whale watching it was amazing. By far my favorite activity I’ve done yet on my Hawaii trip.

We had a great experience today on the 4.45pm small group whale watch trip. We had loads of whale encounters (and dolphins!), a gorgeous sunset and loved the information captain and his first mate Connor gave us! The hydrophone was so cool to hear the whales!! We were lucky with a less than half-full boat (even though we booked just two hours before). Highly recommend for a more relaxed and informative whale watch (in comparison to raft boat we also did).

Thank you to the crew, your care, attention to detail and expertise is very much appreciated! A group of six of us embarked on an evening sunset cruise that included cocktails and wonderful food. The cruise was smooth and very relaxing. We did see several whales while cruising. We had wonderful conversations with the biologists that are also sailing staff. This was a very well orchestrated event that exceeded all of our expectations!

What an incredible experience with knowledgeable people! I loved the education we received while on the boat watching whales.
I was very nervous to snorkel, but I was supported every step of the way, including a little run down on how to use the equipment and what to expect from the captain.
Thank you for a very memorable experience!

We had an incredible whale watching tour this week. It's peak humpback migration time and whatever direction we looked we saw whales. The captain followed a few groups, always mindful to move in and not stress the whales. We saw mothers and calves and small groups. Des dropped a microphone into the water and we listened to the whales singing, and our guide explained how they all sing the same song and add to each year. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Towards the end of the tour we stopped near a competition group of males showing off for a female and the group swam right up to the boat and we got a close up of them fin slapping, tail slapping and fluke waving as they dove. The highlight was when one popped its head out of the water right in front of the boat before diving to the side. It was truly incredible

We went on a whale watching cruise on Sunday morning. The staff and crew were extremely professional and friendly.

Water was pretty choppy but never felt unsafe.

We saw lots of momma's and babies and some breeching off in the distance. On the way back to the harbor a friendly humpback gave a great show of fin slapping to wave goodbye.

I highly suggest booking through PacWhale.

Water is provided as well as snacks soft drinks and alcoholic drinks for purchase.

We had great snorkeling experience. We visited two places (Turtle town was not spectacular, but second spot in crater was perfect!) The staff was very friendly, and we could learn something about underwater life.

This was the total package fun experience! It starts with a light breakfast.(fruit pastry, slice of banana bread, 5 slices of pineapple and 5 slices of oranges. Lunch was grilled chicken, hot dogs, green salad, Mac salad, a bean salad and a cookie. They cooked so much that 2nds was not a problem.

We took the sunset cruise. In spite of high winds, the captain and crew did an outstanding job. The views, food, drinks and service were excellent. The captain got us into a sheltered area where we saw an amazing sunset. The crew was attentive, informative and friendly. You need to go on this cruise. Support Maui.

Wow! Three hour whale watch tour on Dec 9 2023 had us within 100 yards of a group of 6 whales surfacing constantly from about 7:20-9:30am. A pod of maybe 4-5 dolphins were often right in the middle of the 4 large humpback males posturing and agitated with each other for the female they were following. December is the beginning of the breeding season in Maalea Harbor, Kihei, Hawaii. Captain Joe knows his stuff and Aaron is a naturalist with lots of knowledge. Ash was great, too. The Explorer was good for getting right up by the action, but there is no shade on this boat so wear a hat and sunscreen. Photographer takes cute photo right when boarding and sells them printed out in a cute frame for $25. Bring cash for tipping crew at 15-20 pct of the total.

Wonderful! Saw lots of humpbacks, moms and babies. February is THE time to see them, otherwise they are in the north Pacific

Great, kind knowledgable staff, simple plate lunch. We saw a whale almost immediately, which was amazing since it wasn't quite whale season yet. Water and shade were available the entire trip for those who needed a break from the sun. I have a gluten allergy and didn't have any issues with the chicken. I couldn't use the teryaki sauce, which was communicated to me while making the reservation. I doubled up on the papaya salsa, and with rice it did the job. I'd suggest packing reef safe sunscreen, upf shirt, hat, and sunnies so you can enjoy your day to the fullest! (Don't forget a little tip money for the great staff!)

My wife and I went on a PacWhale trip first week of Dec 2023. Weather was BEAUTIFUL but a little chilly on the boat as we set out early in the morning so wind-breaker/light jacket would be good idea. It's no problem to bring a backpack with keys/valuables/water/snacks. The boat is comfortable with ample seating and standing room. The boat staff were great at educating and explaining some of the landscape (for us first-time Hawaii travelers) and the ride was quite relaxing. Late in the tour, we did see a whale that actually went under the boat, jumped out of the water and gave us a show with it's tail!!! Was quite exciting. Talking to locals and other tourists days later, it would have been easy to spot many whales by going Jan-Feb. Crew were great and boat ride was fun.

Josh was an amazing tour guide for our whale watching tour yesterday. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Bob boat captain was awesome as well. Forgot cash for a tip but I thought a review would be helpful!

We had an amazing trip today. The snorkeling was good even though we only went to the crater because of rough conditions. Our crew was great in very rough waters; keeping us safe but also finding lots of whales. More than I would expect on a whale watch
