I've been there for dinner a few times. It's a nice place, friendly staff. I haven't seen the rooms, but have heard they're a little small, as it was converted from old condo units. Play at the beach, sleep in the room.

Amazing stay at this beautiful property. The warm welcome (with refreshing lavender lemonade), the comfortable room in the Tranquility wing, and the amazing staff all combined for an incredible stay.

Had a breakfast before and dinner there
Breakfast was great. Dinner so so with inattentive service. Nice beach and valets are cool about parking there

Went to Maui to relax and the Andaz was the perfect place to do it. Love the natural decor and open design. They host a luau every Sunday and Tuesday.

This is easily the best hyatt property we have stayed. Loved the infinity pools and getting a massage at the spa is a must which was excellent. They upgraded our room to an ocean view room and even gave us champagne and chocolates. The service was on par. Everything was luxurious and room was pretty high tech . I would recommend the luau at the property as well. Beach by the hotel was pretty good and we even saw turtles while snorkeling. We had a great snorkeling experience. I would highly recommend this property for relaxing or just experiencing luxury. Also get the shaved ice at the property. It's served in a coconut shell

I stayed here for a week and loved it. Everyone was super friendly and my room was very comfortable. The spa is so luxurious and was a great spot for my last day at the hotel. The food and drinks offered were always fresh and tasty, especially everything pineapple!!

The Andaz was AMAZING!! My husband and I went recently and everything from the food, to the room and amenities were top-notch. The pools were gorgeous and it even has a private beach. It was expensive but from my understanding, all of Hawaii is expensive. I would highly recommend.

This is the best hotel in Maui hands down! I felt so relaxed while here. Definitely a honeymoon hotel and not a boys trip hotel. But it was definitely one for the books. Has awesome pools with amazing views and great restaurants and very very friendly staff that is there to help with any needs.

This is a upscale modern hotel. Laid out perfectly...from the assortment of pools to access to a private beach.
Recommend spending The money on a full ocean view room...nothing like have morning coffee on the patio over looking the ocean.
Only down side to this hotel:
No real full service dining. $49 buffet for breakfast....meh
Pool bars only had 'bar food' at exorbitant prices.
No nice bar/lounge to enjoy a cocktail/ after dinner drink.
Lastly, your on the south side of the island...which means your driving .

Stayed here for my honeymoon. Used points to book my stay. I asked the hotel if they offered anything special for honeymoons and they offered the following:

-Free breakfast ($100 value a day)
-Upgrade to an oceanfront king room
-Bottle of sparkling wine and other treats upon our arrival
-Gift from the cafe, we ended up getting a bottle of sparkling rose

The breakfast was delicious. I have Celiac disease and was able to enjoy GF pancakes and omelettes cooked to order. Highly recommend the breakfast for those with gluten allergies. Staff is very nice and understanding. Plus the pancakes are to die for.

The number of activities that the hotel offers are numerous. For example: cocktail classes, kayaking, paddle boarding and bingo are all super convenient and fun.

The only downside in my opinion is the inconvenient valet parking. It's annoying to have to wait for your car and $45 is a sizable charge.

Despite booking this stay with points, I would definitely return and pay the hefty room rates.

We stayed here for 3 nights for our honeymoon and it was the best choice we made. The hotel lobby is gorgeous with the open-air design. There was a floral scent in the public area which made it super relaxing. The staff were also very friendly and helpful during our stay.

We were assigned a partial view room with perfect view of the laddered pool area and a little bit of ocean. The room itself was nice and the bathroom design was very interesting. (in a good way) The only draw back is that the AC vents was facing the bed so the wind kept blowing into our head when sleeping.

As for the amenities, the hotel has a beautiful laddered pool area with boudless pools where you can get a perfect view of the ocean. And one of them is open 24 hours a day while the others are open from 6 am to 10pm. You can also find another pool on the other side of the hotel which is for adult only. The hotel has easy access to the beach. The sand is softer here and the location is perfect for paddling, kayaking, and snorkeling. Among the beaches I visited on Maui, this is the one I like the most. Besides pool and beach, there were a lot of different activities (some with surcharges) you can sign up at the hotel concierge during your stay.

For dining, the hotel has several bars and restaurant options. However, the price is on the higher end. And there wasn't any restaurants or food trucks by the resort that you can get to on foot. But I think you can still order deliveries through doordash.

Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with great design and beach access. Will definitely choose Andaz again if we visit Maui again.

Note: We booked using Hyatt points and were not globalist member, so still need to pay parking during the stay, which is $50 a day including tax. The resort fee is waived, however, since we booked with points.

Amazing views, perfect location for our first visit to Maui.
Pros
Ideal location.
Staff super friendly.
The cleaning crews clearly work so hard to keep the place clean!
The beach is fantastic and long enough for a nice sunset walk.
My husband and I were able to snorkel lots right on the beach - we saw so many wonderful sea creatures snorkeling -- including turtles! Suggest taking the short, scenic drive to the Ahihi-Kinau Marine Preserve for some additional great snorkeling.
Cons
My main feedback is the none of pools were heated (except hot tub) and when we were there in mid-November the pools felt pretty icy cold. I still was able to swim, but noticed other guests were not really getting in due to the pool temp.

Stayed here with my wife for our honeymoon, and we loved the hotel! The facility was beautiful, the on-site restaurants had great menus along with delicious food, and the staff were accommodating and friendly. Our room was amazing and offered a fantastic view. The few pools on site were the perfect size and were very relaxing to sit at during the day. During our stay, we took advantage of many of the perks of the hotel, including the guided kayak tour, mixology class, and stand up paddle boarding lessons. We also attended the Luau offered by the hotel, and it was such a unique and special experience, while also being entertaining and enjoyable. Each morning we went to breakfast at the main restaurant, and the food and service were 5-star! The only two notable negatives were that everything is very expensive and I think the overall maintenance of the hotel, especially the exterior, could be improved. Overall, we had a phenomenal experience and if we are ever in Maui again, I have a feeling that we will be staying here again. I highly recommend the hotel!

We stayed her for our honeymoon and cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The room was beautiful, the pool and beach area fantastic and the service was spectacular throughout our trip. We took advantage of the morning yoga classes, paddle board lessons, kayaking and more. The breakfast at the hotel was delicious, as was dinner at Morimoto onsite. The walking path along the beach was wonderful and gives you direct access to hotels down the road if choosing to dine there. We also had massages and the spa was amazing - jacuzzi, wet and dry saunas that were well-maintained. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to Maui.

I just returned from my 10th trip to the Maui Andaz, so obviously I think it's a terrific hotel that I'd recommend.

One of the best things about it are the amazing team they have in place. Caroline, the Guest services manager did a great job of helping before and during the stay. Chili's an adorable dog that sometimes hangs out by the pool. Her caretaker Mary is the best and I always look forward to seeing her. Nelson, another person that works at the pool is a great guy. Other favorite's are Luana at the bar and Angel at the front desk. And of course there's many more to possibly list.

Besides the people and all of the obvious positive things to point out, I love the air conditioner units in the rooms. They're super consistent with noise level and are some of the best hotel A/C units that I've encountered. Along with the comfortable bed and pillows it allows you to sleep really well.

With all hotels there's both positives and negatives. The only negatives I can think of is they kept several covid cutbacks permanent such as disposable trays/silverware for room service. But, they've even done post-covid cutbacks which I despise. This includes less mini bar items in the fridge and charging extra for breakfast virgin bloody mary's and specialty coffee for globalists.

Again, it's a terrific hotel and my favorite hotel in Maui by a far. (and I've stayed at several). And did I say how adorable Chili is?

Absolutely gorgeous. Amazing grounds, beautiful pools, great food. Nothing to complain about. As I was at the bar, a band started setting up and I was worried that they would be too loud, but they were perfect and the lead singer was very attractive. Great vibes from the band, I believe the bar has live music often. Perfect place to watch the sunset

Love love love the Andaz! The hotel was built with clean contemporary design in mind and open airy spaces. Although fairly pricey, it’s worth the use of points for a special occasion. Take advantage of the activities, there are so many turtles on the kayaking tour and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The best part is the walking path along the sea, it goes up and down the coast to all of the other luxury hotels in the area, and you can even walk to Kihei to shop.
