Just went to the store for the first time today. Their staff is amazing! The place was spotless, the staff friendly and attentive. When they welcomed me it truly seemed they meant it. I am more than impressed, by a gas station!

The people who work here are very nice. Store is always clean, with a good selection of products. Hot food. If you see gas cheaper somewhere else, go buy gas there, but don't curse these people and have ill will towards the staff because of gas prices.

I've been going to this station for a few years without a problem. But this morning I had a discouraging experience. I asked the attendant for $30 regular. He repeated back to me "$30 regular" then proceeded to fill it up. My Total was $49.76. He apologized when I called him on it, but I can't help but wonder if was intentional knowing there was most likely nothing I could do about it. If this is an "accidental on purpose" practice, this gas station stands to skim big bucks from unsuspecting customers. MAKE SURE YOU GET ONLY WHAT YOU ASKED FOR!

I have been a customer of this gas station since we bought our house a few blocks up the hill in 2013. We come here daily to buy really anything, gas for our 2 cars, coffee in the morning, sodas, beer, lottery, chips, and candy for our children….it is our go-to convenience store in the neighborhood, where I know a couple of employees by their names (I checked on their wellbeing when they were robbed at gunpoint a few months back). Today I went on a morning walk and stopped by to get my coffee with my fillable cup. When I arrived there and was ready to pour, I realized I had forgotten my wallet at home, so I asked them if I could pour it, walk uphill and come back to pay them. To my absolute amazement, I was told “no” by an employee and the store manager (Angela). When I asked why, while she admitted she knew me, her response was “not all customers come back”. I pointed out I was asking them to trust me for one dollar and they saw me on a daily basis…I have never felt so insulted in my life!. I can’t get over this insulting comment, this terrible customer service, and poor business shortsightedness… And I really wonder…would I receive this lack of trust and type of comment if I didn’t have a heavy Mediterranean foreign accent? I really think I would not….So goodbye to our business, Chevron and Merritt #1 (name of the family who owns this gas station and a few others in Salem).

I stopped in to get some gas today and noticed that the one and only employee that was there running the store and the pumps was talking on his phone. He proceeded to come over to pump my gas and stayed on his phone the entire time. Told him I wanted $30 regular and gave him my phone number for savings....he started pumping the gas and went inside the store to help someone....since once again he was the only one there. So I noticed he wasn't coming back to finish my service, because he was still yet on his phone. I looked at the amount he put in and noticed it was still pumping and was at $65. I yelled at him telling him that I only wanted $30 regular and he said he thought I was talking about $.30 in savings and he stopped the pump. Most likely he was thinking that because he was on his phone the entire time. Finally got off his phone when he stopped pumping the gas. So he went back inside the store where I followed and told him I wanted to talk to a manager, he said the manager would be back in a little bit. I got into my car to leave, he followed me out and said the manager said he won't return until 3 o'clock today. So I left and returned a couple hours later (which once again he was talking on his phone while pumping gas) and asked if the manager was in and he still was not, so I asked for his name and phone number, he said I can give you his name but not his phone number. So I said then give me the store phone number and his name. He was acting kind of funny and said his name is Harry, and I said Harry?? He said yes, that is his American name. Still acting funny, he gave me a phone number which I later called and it was a personal number, not Texaco's number. Called the phone number that is here online and it went to a voicemail. Not happy and now I have to drive all the way back out there when I'm on the other side of town. Good thing is.....I have enough gas. But I do not feel I should have paid for his mistake.

With the inflation currently, it's appalling to see a price fixing; short of allies. Disturbing behavior towards your community and reputed neighbors.
Don't buy gas here if you want to pay $1 or more a gallon.

Gas is always WAAYY more expensive here than at other stations in town. Like a dollar more. Plus, the customer service is terrible. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
