The Texan

This place is solid. There is a hamburger and donuts that the convenient store makes when you’re on the go. I enjoy how helpful the employees are here at this gas station.

This place is very clean and has super clean bathrooms. The employees are very helpful and happy. They have so many different options in food, gadgets, jewelry, bbq sauces and marinade.

Friendly Staff and Amazing Tacos, lunch and Snacks. Came during Spring Break. Well Done to the staff for keeping the Restroom very Clean. Had Fishing Acessories and More.

This travel center has very clean restrooms, a great assortment of fresh made foods from pizza to kolaches, to donuts. I stop here every time I come to Port Aransas.

I have been a long time visitor of Port Aransas. When I saw that the Texan was being built I thought it is going to hurt some businesses. Well on New Year’s Day 2023, I wanted a drink. At 10:45am I drive through the drive thru of Sonic. I saw employees inside, well they didn’t bother to come and tell me that they open at 11. So we went to the Texan. Well we looked around and decided to get some tacos and a drink and other items. I went to where the tacos were and asked Melinda if she could make some tacos. Melinda said I’m closing it down, but graciously said , “I can still make you some”. We got 3 tacos and an apple fritter. They were the best tacos and apple fritter I have ever had on the island. We ended up spending $40. Thank you Melinda. Businesses will put themselves out of business if they don’t have employees like Melinda. Happy New Year 2023.

Great BLT! Fresh HOT fries! Husband had a brisket sandwich basket, and he loved it! Reasonably priced!

I shopped "The Texan" stores before and they do convenience very well. Great location and great options. 5 stars for Victor alone, their two register running cashier phenom. Keep on keeping on Victor.

Has everything you could ask for in a convenient store. Definitely was needed in Port A. It’s like a Buccees, has food, coolers, pickled stuff, etc.

Also, all kitchen items with bread are all way over baked, which makes them very dry and tough to swallow. Chicken in the chicken biscuit was way over done. I know it is hard to balance not undercooking them and then sit under warming lights that cook them more. They will find their balance eventually. But the kolaches do not look appetizing because they are dark brown, otherwise I would load up on them.
Very friendly and helpful staff. I will continue to go to this great store. It reminds me of a small Buc-ee’s.
