I got the feeling that they were giving advice because they genuinely wanted to, not because they were obligated to do so as employees. They had a great selection of rods, reels, live bait, tackle, clothing, tools, and more. Make this your one-stop shop in Port A.

Great little place that has all the tackle you need. Great bait selection and not overly priced. They have a good selection of rods and reels as well as combos. Staff is friendly and will guide you with advice if needed for folks new to fishing!

Nothing was overpriced here. Good service, good selection of fishing equipment. Had some good deals on reels. Will shop here again in future. Plus they sell live or dead baits too.

Bart was extremely helpful. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Helped me out with a “birds nest” on my reel and could have easily charged me for new line but he did not. He was honest and lended a hand out! For that they have earned my business!

Staff was courteous and informative. Bait was fresh, and I ended up catching the largest Red Drum of my life using one of their Mullet bait fish. I’ll be back tomorrow morning.

If the guy who sold me the fake bate works there forever I'd go bankrupt. Not only handsome but knows his stuff. Caught my first sting ray surf fishing♥♥

They sell bait right outside.

Great local shop with a very large selection of low-priced all the way up to premium baits and lures. Very polite and helpful employees that make you feel welcome regardless of your fishing knowledge or experience. Fair and competitive pricing as well so you can also feel good about supporting local small businesses instead of other corporate chain stores. We will come back again some day.

Best bait shop in Port A... they have the largest variety of bait along with gear and tackle...

Can’t recommend this place enough. Reasonable priced rod/reel combos, all the tackle you could need, clothing and fresh/frozen bait available. Priced comparable to big name sporting stores with service from people that care and fish themselves. If you wanna fish Port A, make this your first stop.

Always a pleasure stopping at Port A Outfitters. We have been stopping there for many years. Great bait selection outside so you can drive up and not worry about leaving your gear in the bed of the truck. More than enough tackle inside to keep you busy. Bought a couple of pints of shrimp yesterday and the guy working was very friendly. Will be back today for ore bait.

Great experience. Friendly and helpful staff. I'm a newbie to surf fishing and the lady inside recommended lures for me to use and even went and helped me find them. The guy at the bait shop was helpful also in bait recommendation and how to use as well as placement on the surf. He could have been a little more friendly in his delivery, but all is good. I will definitely go back for any other fishing needs.

Place has a great tackle shop with plenty of gear and bait. Live shrimp bait we got were in good shape and very active. Recommend looking up different ways to put the shrimp and other baits on your hook before you are just feeding the fish.
