Gotta hand it to Coach's... darn good breakfast! We stopped in about noon on a Sunday, not breakfast time for sure, but Coach's pounds out breakfast until 2:00pm everyday! It was great! Service awesome (Thanks Rokki!), the foo was delicious, and even Coach's signature salsas were a hit with this crew! BTW... Coach's serves bigtime burgers and lunch fare after 11AM!

Our first visit to Coach's, and the Yelpers' guidance was mixed. We're here "off season" so not really sure what to expect! Coach's out-performed our expectations... The place is so fun and cool, if you know anything about sports. I don't mean being a fan, but if you know anything about sports, there are memories on the walls... football, baseball, boxing, car racing... you know it, the sport is represented here! So fun to see all the memorabilia!

Next, the food... we kept it simple with a Coach's Original (an egg, sausage, biscuit, toast) and a Double Play (two eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, toast)(I had the Double LOL) and Rokki treated us with a side of a biscuit and gravy as a sampler... all of the food was off the charts good... yeah, a breakfast diner kind of place, I can only imagine how crazy the wait is "in season!"

The entire experience was so enjoyable... mostly locals dining this AM, but we fit right in. PS Coach's in-house salsas are awesome too. We'll likely go by for lunch this week for a burger/fry lunch combo and grab some of the salsas. Definitely and HIGHLY recommend Coach's Island Grill for a great breakfast and/or lunch in Port A ... get you some of that!!!

Prompt and attentive service. Fun atmosphere with interesting memorabilia (football jerseys and celebrities’ photos). Breakfast was good and cooked to order. Sausage and French toast are standouts; strong value for the money. TV playing college football on Saturday when we were there. We will return when in PA.

Very small breakfast restaurant. Waited about 30 minutes before being seated. Must order while or a little after putting your name on the wait list so that they have it in advance. So be prepared for that. Besides that, the food is good and fresh, and the portions are huge. If you're someone who eats little, order the French toast or something small. But it's definitely a really cool spot to check out if you're on a small getaway to Port A.

Update!!! They moved. It's just a block away. Nice location, with parking. Food is still delicious and affordable. Spent $38 for 2 people. Portions are still huge! The customer service is AMAZING!
It's a little understaffed, but with time, this issue will be fixed. I don't come to Port A. too often, but when I Coach's is a place, I'll always come for breakfast.

Steak and eggs breakfast was excellent. The homemade mild hot sauce had great flavor and so did the mean green spicy one. Servers were very friendly and efficient, especially on a full house. Definitely a great spot for breakfast!

So happy that Coach’s is back! Great new space with more tables and more jerseys. Coach is such a nice person that he whipped up some chips and salsa for me at 8 AM because I always have to have his salsa when I visit. Added on a breakfast taco and some coffee to round out my happy morning.

Fun place! Greeted when we arrived (love that-thank you:). Service was amazing, food was great and even Coach came out to check to make sure my fries weren’t too salty! Who does that anymore? You are amazing Roxy and Cindy & Randy from Corpus will be back soon! Thank you! Thank you! Highly recommend❤

Ps. Great tea! (and I’m a tea snob)

we went here for breakfast on my wife’s birthday (4 of july) and there was a wait but a sweet waitress with red hair brought us some water and we were great! the servers are very nice and tiffany, i believe is her name, even brought happy birthday pancake for her and sang happy birthday! the breakfast taco is so good (and huge!) and their hot sauce is great too.

The best biscuits and gravy in Texas! Excellent pancakes and great coffee. 5 extra stars for the Trump cut out on the kitchen door.

Coaches was the best, apparently March 31, 2023 was the last day of operation. Was sad to come today and find the place looking abandoned. We used to LOVE coming here for breakfast at any time of day. Does anyone know if they relocated or got bought out? Will they be back or are they gone for good. Definitely a lost Texas Jewel.

5 stars says it all. This little dive has the perfect balance of great food and great service. Coach cooks the food and most times brings it out to the table to tell you to enjoy. It's charming and tiny so if you have a huge party let them know in advance. The memorabilia on the walls is fun to look at and the food was everything I was looking for to appease a southern appetite for home cooked breakfast.

Found this gem by looking for local breakfast places in Port Aransas and maaaan! Let me tell you how happy I was! Greeted by sweet waitresses Tiffany and Kim was definitely a good first impression. Tiffany was my waitress and she helped me with popular menu options and omg the PANCAKES!!! BIG as a plate and portions a great hearty size! Fell in love with the sports memorabilia and even more so when I found out that the owner is the cook! Love supporting small local businesses like this! Will definitely be back again!

Do not miss Coach’s!! 5 star breakfast & 5 star service. How have we missed this great place all these years? It’s definitely our go to from now on. Everything tastes just a little bit better than your grandmas!!! Can’t wait to see the new location and hope it’s just as crazy & eclectic🖤

The breakfast is amazing. They just got a new location, so please be patient with the staff. The food is really, really good, though. Ask for the extra hot sauce!

Breakfast tacos are massive. Start with 1.

Don’t let the price of the Philly cheesesteak deter you, it was delicious! The fires were really good too. Be careful with the hot sauce though, it’s not labeled so ask which one is the hot one. The verde sauce was very flavorful.

This is the place you want to go for brunch, for breakfast, for everything!!!
The wait is worth it. If I lived nearby, I'd be there every weekend.
On top of the amazing, tasty and delicious food, their service is outstanding. Kudos to the ladies at the front of the house.

First time to Port A and found this place from Google reviews, and after having a Coach’s platter with eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, and 2 full slices of French toast...they deserve another 5 star review! Everything was cooked perfectly. The French toast was delicious!
