Chevy Chase Hardware is the place to go when you need advice and suggestions along with creative solutions to almost anything you can think of that a hardware and general store-type place might have. Staff are friendly, helpful, and eager to assist or just chat. Prices are great, too! This is my go-to place and neighborhood hardware store even though it is not in my neighborhood!

It's like the small town hardware store you read about in novels. Quiet and familiarly friendly. The epitome of bluegrass Hardware store types. This place has anything you'll go looking for at It's major competitor chains and Chevy Chase Hardware is gonna save you money, while you support local. Give this place a search, first!!!

Small enough to still get personalized professional help. Went in looking for 2 small nuts and bolts to replace in a DIY kit that they sent the wrong bolts for the size nuts in package. The gentleman looked at the ones I had and took me straight to their nuts and bolts and got the ones I needed to fit what I was sent. Yes, I could've just sent them back to get correct ones reshipped, but I'd still be waiting for them to get sent back out. And, yes I could've went to a big box store, i.e. Lowes/Home Depot, but I'd probably still be there looking thru their millions of small nuts and bolts to find correct ones. It was just so much quicker and easier to go to the smaller locally owned store and get friendly, quick assistance and left knowing that I had the correct ones to complete my DIY project without all the waiting on reshipping or the wasted hours sifting through all the nuts/bolts at the big box stores.

This could be one of the last true hardware stores left. You're treated as if your family right away and then there's a transportation that takes place. I was transported practically back to the 50s I couldn't believe it. Seems like a family-owned place I respect that. The young lady at the register was very personable and chatted me up although I have a tendency to chew people's ear off. These gentleman saw that I was in direst allow me to use their gas can and save my hiney. Thank you all God bless please support this business.

While I do not shop there a lot, I do drive out of my way to buy things there. They always have what I want and the service is outstanding. Anyone who has waited on me has always known where various products were located and has been able to recommend the best option. The staff at checkout do a super job--kind and professional

The young man at the counter was super friendly and directed me to the man in the back of the store that helped me find what I needed quickly! This will be my go to hardware store!

Had 5 window screens rescreened. They farm this out and the person that did them did a great and prompt (a couple of days) job. I was surprised to learn that rescreening 5 window screens would cost $120. Seems steep, but, then, so is everything else in 2023.

Went into the store needing help with reattaching a drawer face to my bathroom vanity. The service staff was friendly and most accommodating! But then I knew they would be - great reputation!! Being locally owned is a bonus!!

This little hardware store has everything you’ll need even the things the big box stores don’t have.

Locally owned which first off is a huge plus. Very helpful staff that are also very knowledgeable. If I need two screws I can buy them. At the big box places I have to buy a whole package. Chevy Chase hardware is my first go to place for things I need!

I love this place. It's small but they have almost everything I need and a help is always right there. I love the fact that when I need a screw or 2, I can buy exactly that and they make sure I get the right size. Sure, some things might cost a dollar or more but since this is literally around the corner from where I live, if I take all the driving time and gas into consideration, I am not losing much. It's so convenient for me. The guys are always so respectful and helpful. I wish they stay like this forever.

Super old-fashioned hardware store with outstanding service and pretty much everything you need. No need to go big box store - just shop here! Keep these places going - avoid the big boxes!

One of the best kept secrets in Lexington. The store has an amazingly variegated inventory, but often has only 1 or 2 of the odd items on your shopping list. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful. There is free parking in the front and in the back, but there are more spaces in the back. It is also far easier to drive out of the back spaces than out of the spaces in front.
