Foremost Liquor Uptown

Nice selection of liquor, and good prices for local, small business, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, which seems to be a rarity these days

There are not a lot of good liquor stores around anymore but this is one of them. The beer selection is unparalleled, but beyond that the liquor selection is so broad and deep it’s entertaining sometimes to look at the shelves. Anyone knowledgeable about Scotches, Bourbons, Ports, Liqueurs, etc. will likely be surprised and certainly be impressed.

I love this store!! I especially love Jim - owner/manager. He's so kind and knows everything about everything in that store and is always willing to take his time to help you make good choices. I also really appreciate that they carry a lot of things that most wine and spirit stores don't, like a Variety of non-alcoholic wine/beer. Most stores in the city do not. They do not price gouge like a lot of other stores in the city. And the staff is always friendly and helpful as well.

I've been stopping here on the way home for years and recently had the pleasure of moving within walking distance. This Foremost has prices at or below what Binny's and Jewel charge for the most part and the staff are super nice. They go above and beyond and remember what you like, what sort of things you've tried, etc. I would recommend this place highly.

Recently, I've noticed they're putting more things on sale, so the prices are getting even better.

Great selection, really friendly and informative staff. They're diligent about covid safety best practices, carry copies of the Reader, and have a good selection of cold mixers and checkout lane snacks. You'll find great specials on seasonal bottles, too.

I moved into the neighborhood a few years ago. I stop by once every other week or so on my way home from work. The staff is extremely nice, and they have a huge selection. Prices are cheaper than Mariano's (a few blocks away) for most things.

Excellent customer service!! We ordered from the Uptown location through Uber and received the wrong merchandise. We called the store and spoke with Ryan. He was extremely courteous and went above and beyond to make the situation correct. Extremely pleased with them and will continue to get them my business.

Always used to come here when i lived in the neighborhood years ago, i liked it then, but i love it now. wow have things changed around here since. The street looks completely different for the better. the store made some great changes too. The staff has always n i mean always been THE BEST, prices are great, n the selection is very plentiful, they even have my favorite stuff in stock every time i visit, my trusty RedBreast 15yr Irish whiskey plus all the other age statements. Love this place!

Although a small store, this place has a great variety of beers, ales, ciders, etc! Things that definitely wouldn't be found in the nearby Whole Foods or Jewel Osco's.
