The people who run this store should run the airports, the highways, the schools … you won't find a more efficiently run store with more knowledgeable and helpful people anywhere doing anything. When I was there, there were people from Connecticut and upstate New York who made the trip. Someone greets you when you come in, answers your questions, gets you started on the process of selecting a handful of bats to try. Then, while you take your practice swings—as many as you need—and figure out what you like and don't like, they circle back for more help. We went at peak hours (Saturday afternoon, during baseball season) and even though it was crowded we were in and out quickly with a bat we were very happy with.

Surprisingly, they are even more helpful in person. Not just great prices, but careful, experienced, knowledgeable, and most importantly, sales staff that listens. They respected our budget and I overheard them talk other shoppers out of unnecessary expenses. We have been more than satisfied in the past and will be back again and again.

Another great bat for a good price. This is the 2nd Ussa bat I’ve ordered and it’s great. This wasn’t my first option, but the original bat was no longer in stock, Roy called and said he had another bat for the same price and he was right it was another great bat. I also asked for the lizard skin and it’s on there perfect.

The shipping was absolutely lighting speed I figured the usually 2-4 days but I got the bat next day. Great communication, great selection will definitely by from again and refer people to Roy & Max !!!

So glad I found these guys. I had been looking for a Miken slow pitch softball glove for months and they were either left hand thrower or not in stock. Found this one for a great price with free shipping! Will do business in the future!

I went today and this place was great. The customer service was amazing. The workers were so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. They even have a small indoor cage where they let you test the bats. They also put the lizard skin on your bat for free when you buy it there. It really was a great experience. They have a huge selection of stuff too. I bought a beautiful Limited Edition Miken Freak Gold. I highly recommend this place. I drove from Staten Island (well worth it) and will definitely be going back.

It's not a pretty store, to be sure, but do you really want to pay extra for interior decorating at sports store? If you are looking for staff that know what they sell inside and out and will help you find exactly what you need and are looking for reasonable prices, then this is the place for you. I will happily support my family's sporting habits by being a repeat customer. I'm sure once you've visited you'll feel the same way.

I highly recommend going to Closeout. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have a big selection. I bought a bat there that broke within a couple of months no fault of theres. I was worried since it was expensive. When I got there Roy looked at it and said no big deal we will take care of it. I was worried for nothing. I went in the back and saw Max who helped my son pick out something more reliable. When I went back to see Roy he told me this bat was less expensive and gave me the balance on a gift card. I am glad that I found them if I would have went to a big box store I probably would have had to argue with some customer service person who doesn't care about there customers. I can't thank Roy and Max enough my son is very happy. I will shop no where else you have a customer for life.

Absolutely the best place! Have bought numerous bats and gloves here. Oldest daughter's Mantra was sounding and feeling a bit strange. Came to buy a new bat as we are leaving for camp at JMU this afternoon.. They discovered it had a crack near the head and replaced it immediately. Ofcourse I still bought another bat to keep it company. 🤪

We’ve ordered a number of bats from Roy and Closeout throughout the years. They usually have the best prices and they always ship faster than the big retailers. Highly recommend.

Customer service here is the best there is. Roy, Max and the rest of the staff are great. They try to provide your kid what is best for them instead of trying to make they most they can off of you. As many others have said, I'm a customer for life. Only place I buy baseball equipment from.

One of the best places to find a wide selection of quality bats (and other baseball gear/equipment). They offer a one year warranty which is incredibly helpful when you are investing so much into a high quality bat for your little leaguer.
