Scotchman

If anyone has the authority to review this location, it would be me. It's taken on so many changes since I first walked inside, summer of '86. Back then it was the "Majik Market". No typo, just ghetto marketing at its finest. In those days, you could hear poker machines taking some poor chumps money while the manager behind the counter sat smoking her cigarette. Fast forward two decades and the named changed to "Lil' Cricket Convenience Store", again with the ghetto marketing? I'm starting to see a theme here. Wishing to make a difference in my community, I stepped up to become an Assistant Manager. I finally saw the store from the other side of the counter. The experience was short lived and the extended version of it starts with, "I had 5 good days in 5 months." The short and sweet of this review is that I see the "Scotchman" as the best version this store has ever been. To appreciate walking inside today, would be to have seen it in every possible broken fluorescent light you can imagine. In defense of the associates working here, they are cool and laid back, so take it easy on them.

Friendly staff, clean store and store front, surprisingly because of the location. Products are rotated good, because there's not dust collected on them like some stores.

I like to swing into neighbourhood convenience store to this drop in grab a quick item and leave. When I 1st came to South Carolina I never tried boiled peanuts so this was my 1st exposure after say I really like them. I didn't have any problems with the staff they seemed welcoming in was able to point me to the right parts of the store so all in all They did their job

Convenient little convenience store around the little apartments in Oranto. And people that work there are friendly and will help you with anything you may need

I was in the store and i was looking for something and when i got the the register the manager Im guessing told me Are you ready lil girl or boy whatever i hope she gets fired cause you shouldn't say that to a 14 year old.

Normally I don't have an issue with this place but too many times they have the doors locked for seemingly unnecessary reasons. Once it was because the employee was in the bathroom. Why there was only one person working in a convenience store (not safe at all) I'll never know.

Just now they had the doors locked at 8:30 am for no known reason (no sign to let people know what's up) yet two employees were at the registers talking it up just watching customers try the door and wait outside. All I could see them doing was messing with some bags. Look, if there's an issue with your system (it's happened there before) just put a sign up. Don't waste people's time locking doors at regular working hours when your store is supposed to be open 24/7...

Some of the employees are actually really nice and come off as professional so I'm not saying they're all like this.

One of your workers is so rude. Store is supposed to open at 6. And if she's working it's no telling what time the door opens. It's Sunday August 6 715 am and she's playing with her phone and doors still locked. It's only when she works this happens. I guess she owns the place.

Anyway I think they need to start by restaffing with more courteous cashiers or either retrain the ones you have. OR just close because the employee this morning makes you definitely NOT want to come back. Still looking for corporate number to report as well.

By far the rudest cashier I have ever came across!!! Cashiers in the seediest parts of Charleston are nicer!!! Of course they don’t wear name tags Bc I pull surely call her out by name!!!

I am done with the inappropriate unprofessional use of profanity by the manager at this location, every time i am waiting in line she is just chilling and cursing with her daily customers she knows well, she speaks with a violent nature hateful mouth and knows nothing about my sexuality but i am done with her hateful comments about the LGBTQ community. Just because a daily customer makes the conversation doesn't mean she should back up the hateful words with more hateful words of her own that are in agreement with the conversation. If she has a problem with gays she can keep her stupid country mouth shut until she clocks out. I have been to scotchman that have great managers but either way if scotchman owned by little cricket is willing to employ people like her then they do not (in my opinion) deserve the business of the LGBTQ community at any scotchman or little cricket. Also even more importantly i can not recall anytime other scotchman sold me out of date products but it happened to me repeatedly at this location & though i was refunded they refused day after day to take the out of date meat snack products that got me sick off of the shelf. They have made it clear that they are trying to get them sold anyway and that makes me sick (literally) especially being meat (the slim jims) i reported her and when she found out she ran me out of the store with a very violent nature as usual. I ride my bike with a gopro session hero 5 on my chest almost every time i go into the store and if people don't believe me i think i have enough evidence to support that she is to hateful/psychotic to be employed in any customer service role. Also i want to note that i reported her twice to the company, you leave a recording about your complaint and it states that someone will contact you soon regarding the issue and at no point did the company return my call about the complaint but they made sure to let her know and get her panties in a knot about it. She doesn't even keep the shelves stocked properly if products are out of date and i know a few people who only put up with her crazyness for a specific price on a specific beer or the fact that they sell cajun boiled peanuts and have an ATM. It will only let me upload a photo otherwise i would just upload my videos and you would laugh at some and be angry at others..

Bad service worker said no dogs allowed but there was no sign out side that said no dogs 1 star

Just visited this store and was treated very poorly by the clerk working. She had attitude when I asked about pricing for items that were clearly marked 3/99 and when I asked about it again she copped an attitude, talking slang and snapping her gum as she said what’s wrong now lady. Her name is Earleene Small or at least that’s what she told me. Another employee was sitting out of site swearing up a storm because she couldn’t clock out. I will not be coming back to this store and will drive miles out of my way to avoid being treated like this. I have been coming to this store on an almost daily basis for over four years but you have now lost a customer. Oh and maybe I should bring up the drug deals that go on behind the dumpster on the side of the store. I’ve worked customers met service over 30 years and if I ever treated a customer the way I was treated I’d be out of a job. I am sitting in the parking lot as I type this.

THEY WILL SHORT YOU ON YOUR CHANGE WITH BILLS AND COINS. It's happened several times(don't pay with a bill higher then a $50). They are always rude And act like you are an inconvenience because they have to do their job They will lock the doors And make you use the window (and then they all of a sudden become blind)But yet they will have three or four of their friends inside..... HIRE PEOPLE WHO CAN COUNT , READ AND DO THE VERY SMIPLE JOB/JOBS THAT THEY WHERE HIRED TO DO, because the ones that are working there are ABSOLUTELY AWFUL In all Areas listed above, The entire store needs to be replaced With new employees

To the piece of trash working today who is black and had attitude who can't read a date on a I.D your a joke and insult to the work force please do something like yard work 🙄 lol
