Asian Food Market Plainsboro

As former veteran Plainsboro residents, we are well familiar with the Asian Food Market since its former location days, next to Crown of India.

The assortment is overwhelming. There are endless shelves dedicated to millions of varieties of ramen noodles only and crates filled with packages of unfamiliar (in the US) snacks and displays of exotic fruit. The section of the popular imitation crab sticks leaves you wondering about their differences.
The truth is, if you are not well versed in the Asian food and its intricacies, it's close to impossible to comprehend many of the products on the display. The translation on the store's price tags doesn't really help. The best possible shopping experience would necessitate bringing a friend with good knowledge of the Asian food. Without proper explanation, even the vegetable sections would be an unsolved mystery for you.

The prices are great for certain items and not so great for others, compared to the chain supermarkets.

The register lines are not terrible. The English language level among the employees is mostly acceptable.

There is a food court consisting of several vendors (Thai Gourmet, Gong Cha, The Pastry and Coffee Room, and Sol Pot, among other options), right before the registers.

In addition, there is an Asian gift and souvenir store right by the entrance area. It offers traditional ceramics, electric water fountains, "Hello Kitties", many arts and crafts objects, as well as all kinds of carved or glass figurines, decorative plates, framed art, Chinese vases, etc. We were told that the store is not a part of the Asian Food Market.

This aisle of bottles tells me that the staff here care about order and presentation and customer experience (or are just obsessive about making perfect stacks of bottles which is fine by me)

Just opened and SUPER CLEAN! I really hope they maintain it ( if you know Chinese markets, they get dirty fast)

Prices and selections not bad, between 99 Ranch and Hmart in prices.

Carry’s a good amount of Japanese and Korean product. A lot of south Asian ingredients

There’s a Chinese roasted food deli and bakery inside with Gong cha ( bubble tea) , a Korean restaurant and Chinese takeout in the outside corridor by the entrances.

Tip: can’t load up on produce and fruits if you don’t eat within 3 days, they Rot fast

Best one around, I came from south jersey to visit this one. I will definitely be back more often! I LOVE the bakery selection offered.🫓🧆

Finally found where to get my Filipino and Asian essentials all-in-one stop! 😊 So glad that this supermarket has a w--i--d--e variety of foodstuffs from fresh fish, meats, produce, canned goods, drinks, etc. And especially happy that they sell Jersey Condensed Creamer, here on the East Coast!! 🥰👍🏻👍🏻

Very nice Asian Food Market. Everything looks new and modern. Food court is lacking but I expect it to fill in eventually.

Good selection of hot food bar and BBQ meats. Veggies and fruits look very fresh as well.

Great selection of produce and Asian food! I'm so glad they moved to a bigger place with a much wider choice of products. It's also much cleaner.

A very convenient place to buy asian groceries. Seafood is good. Located at the Plainsboro plaza it is a to-go place for getting good quality vegetables!!

The Asian Food Markets finally moved from Princeton Meadows Plaza to Plainsboro Plaza, and it has seemingly doubled in size. Looks like there's also going to be a bubble tea store in the food court! This space is much nicer than before, so we'll be shopping here often for our Asian American food needs.

Great market. You can find a variety of Asian foods and ingredients. They also have restaurants serving several Asian cuisine.

I love the new location! It's easier to navigate and it feels brighter and fresher.
I really like the weekly produce specials. I also like the fact that I can get loose citrus here instead of having to buy like 3lbs of bagged tangerines at a time, like I do at most other grocery stores. And, of course, I love being able to get the unique ingredients I need as I learn authentic Asian recipes.
Definitely don't skip the bakery. Soft fluffy steamed buns, incredibly flaky egg tarts and crisp-chewy sesame balls have been my family's favorites.

Nice selection and fairly modern/clean for an asian supermarket. Ramen lovers need to check this place out!

Just like the super markets I'm used to back in NYC. Stocked with everything I will ever need, but clean and neat

Love this market! So pleasantly surprised to find such a well stocked Filipino section! Lots of Filipino baked goodies too. Nice Thai section as well. Great fresh produce and they can give you just the cut you need in the meat section. Tea section is lovely as well. Grab a boba on the way out! This place has everything you need!

This is a very nice clean store. They have so many items! It is much better than their former location. Seafood is nice, the produce is nice. They have a nice meat selection but we come for produce and fresh fish. We also like the Chinese bakery items. Large selection of Asian foods of all types.

We love this market so much that we will go there whenever we are in NJ. Everything is fresh and the price is reasonable. The bakery is really good too.
