Vin Chicago

I am genuinely surprised I haven’t reviewed them before. I shop almost exclusively at their city location. They do have four or five locations in addition to the city location. I love their reviews and their great buys on $10-$30 bottles of wine for everyday use. Additionally I love buying futures and wines that are scheduled to be delivered later. I have started building out my cellar. Additionally I love going to there wine tastings and the once a month introduction to all the new inventory they brought in. I’ve been shopping there now for 25 years. They’re brilliant.

Great place. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and just as helpful (cool for me being new to wine).
During our first visit, the owner walked me and my wife through, and we were impressed.
Every visit since was just as fun.

Everything you’d want in a local wine store. Big or small budget, no problem. Need that perfect wine for a specific meal—they’ll deliver.

Great variety of wines, a few beers & spirits. Staff is friendly and customer oriented. Prices range from low and reasonable to high end. Worth visiting and revisiting over and over again.

I recently did a tour of wine shops in Chicago, this place is my favorite. I don’t know how they do it but their prices are lower than anyone’s on most of the bottles I have benchmarks on. Also they have a very interesting and deep collection. Nothing against other well loved smaller chicago shops but unlike some of those I can go to this place in search of almost any style or region of wine and find a good example for a very reasonable cost, comparatively. I love Binny’s I get a lot of wine there. I used to live by warehouse and printers row wine shop. Now I live by white + red and all of those have good wines, but this place has both standbys and smaller unique wines across the spectrum for great prices. There are countless familiars and new wines I find here and also a better range on vintages here than elsewhere, I got some 2015 Bordeaux’s here on a whim. Before I came to Chicago I was in Berkeley and finding some gems from some of the small importers and vintners here like Broc Cellars was so unexpected and amazing.

Huge selection of wines, a solid shelf or two of premium booze and a small citation of craft beers. They’re eager to help offer suggestions that don’t necessarily break the bank even though they certainly carry bottles that would. First time coming in, and I will be back.

Fantastic selection of wines in many price tiers and global regions. Great in store, plus phone consultation and website for shopping options. Excellent gift giving wine shop, with strong variety, easy online platform, then they pull order for delivery with fee, or free pickup in store or curbside. Web has enclosure card note option and they even helped with a gift bag for our friend.

The only place I buy wine in Chicago! Great well curated selection. The staff are all knowledgeable and really help you find wines that suit your palate! Vin has gotten me to explore different vineyards and styles.

I love this place! It’s like the perfect size where you have a large unique selection but also not overwhelming. The staff is super friendly, always willing to help you find something good/fits your needs. I really appreciate the write ups they provide on nearly all the wines in the store. I’m looking forward to the wine tasting events post-COVID that I’ve always heard good stuff about. Easy 30min parking right outside too and they do drive up/pick up through their site.

This is one of my fav wine stores to shop at. If you get on their email list, you'll get all the deals which sell out quick. The staff is really helpful and knowledgeable, and always willing to help you find what you're looking for. I shop here regularly, attend amazing wine tastings and they also offer a free tasting every Saturday from noon - 4pm. I highly recommend this store for your wine needs!

Get on their email list for notifications of highly rated wines. Can’t miss. Read the reviews when they come and decide. If you’re not into whites, skip it and go to the red (one of the two in the email is usually a red). Some recommendations might be out of your price range. Fine. Look to the price range you can afford. You will not be disappointed. And the prices are always lower than anywhere else.
Or just stop in and go by their in-store staff recommendation. They are the best if you like trying different wines, at great prices. My store of choice is Elston Ave (stems from when it was Discount Wine Store).

Vin is great! Can't beat the selection, and have a wide variety of price points too. They've done curbside pickup during the pandemic which has worked very smoothly. Love their tasting notes in store and emailed upon purchase.

This is the only wine shop in Chicago for me. I usually drink under $20 bottles with the occasional splurge. Their staff recommendations in the store have never steered me wrong, and I can't remember the last so-so or bad wine I bought here. The Old World selection is well curated and there are great values here.

Great wine store! Formerly the Wine Discount Center. They have a really good selection of everyday wines but also some real gems that you won't find anywhere else. You can usually bet that if Vin Chicago has it, you won't find it anywhere else at a better price.

I had driven by this store several times and decided to stop by on a whim on Saturday. That afternoon, I enjoyed their free wine tasting composed of 5 whites and six reds. They were very friendly and the wines varied greatly in both style and price-point($13-90). Tastings are a great opportunity to learn more about wine and you can't argue with the free. I also found out that they have a much larger wine tasting the first Wednesday of every month composed of 20-30 wines.
