Giant Food

I am compelled to write about two superlative employees that should be recognized at the Giant at Mapledale Plaza.

The first is our online shopper, Ida, who is so exceptional and always has a smile on her face. She goes the extra mile to make sure the customer is satisfied. She is a main reason why my husband and I continue to shop at this store each week.

The other reason is Jack, the head of the meat department. This man went above expectations for our Christmas rib roast. Having a large family, he special ordered a large roast and also cut the bones from the roast and tied them back with butcher string as I had requested. It was perfect! It was a delicious feast thanks to a very caring man who truly cares about his customers.

As a business owner in PWC, I know the importance of customer service and keeping excellent employees. Thank you, Ida and Jack! Please keep up the great work. It is appreciated! Kim Carr

Super attentive staff. Wide range of food selection and super fresh. Neat place and super organized stuff. I'm a local real estate agent and I always love to stop by this store after a meeting with my client to buy some stuff for my house. I really enjoy going here!

This is our go-to grocery store. We ordered a cake today for our son's birthday with some vague instructions "make a place for a cheetah" and it turned out so cute! Really pleased with what they came up with. My kid is thrilled

I just wanna take a moment to appreciate the workers at Giant #741 in Mapledale Plaza. My husband and I live with in-laws who are immuno-compromised and high risk; so with Covid-19 still being a thing, I'm very grateful for the online pick-up and delivery option so we can get our groceries with minimum risk of bringing something home. Thank you Giant for that.
But what I really appreciate are the staff here. Even pre-Covid, they were always friendly, helpful, polite and I've never had any issues. The employees at this location have always been welcoming and helpful for my shopping experiences.
After Covid hit, things got nuts and, in general, retail, food service and grocery workers don't always get the appreciation they deserve. I really hope that Giant is taking care of their employees right now, because they are MVPs in my opinion.
Special shout out to the Pick Up Manager at this store: Jan. Jan and the pick-up staff members are always cheerful and every interaction is always super polite and super friendly. Jan always jokes about coming to my house (because I always order alcohol and ice cream, so who the hell wouldn't wanna hang out with me?), and always tells me to call if I have any issues with the order. The team goes above and beyond in my opinion and I really hope that they are treated like the essential employees that they are. At bare minimum, I want the entire staff at this store to know that *I* appreciate them and their service to our community.

Sorry it's such a long review! TL;DR- The team here is great, friendly and super helpful and I'm glad to shop here!

A little bit pricier than some of the other neighborhood options, but they have the best online ordering and pickup system I've seen. The folks who pack my car are always quick and friendly!

I go to this place a lot and just wanted to write a quick review saying how good it is. I know exactly where to go to find the things I need every time. They have great deals on some of their food and it helps save a lot of money. The self checkout line also goes by really fast except when people with 30 items try to self checkout and they fail so it takes more time but that isn't Giant's fault. Thank you for reading my review and I hope you also start coming to this Giant more often as they are great.

These five stars are for James, the manager at Giant. He is one of the most professional, excellent managers this store has ever had! I have seen him deal with the most awful people and situations in the last couple of years, and he is so patient, so kind, and so professional. This young man deserves one hell of a raise and one hell of a paycheck!

Recently started shopping here and have had great interactions with staff. They have a wide variety of items and also found out that they take some competitors' coupons.

Not my everyday grocery store. It is more expensive than other grocery stores. However, you can find more of the higher end products like meats and cheeses...on this end of Dale City. Their staff turn over isn't as high as other stores so you know the right people to ask questions to.

In visiting and needed groceries. Nice...clean..really friendly Employees. Coupon wouldn't work so the Cashier just deducted the amount. Great Service!

Please keep in mind that despite their name, all the items in this establishment are normal, human sized products.

This Giant on the corner of Dale Blvd. and Mapledale Ave. Is The Best grocery store in Woodbridge. The employees are ALWAYS helpful and kind and there is always a familiar face in the 2 years I've been shopping there. Even if you call to ask about a product its prompt and you get off the phone feeling as if they actually care about you as a customer! It's a very easy store to navigate and check out is always quick, smooth and easy! Go in the morning hours to have what seems the whole store to yourself. It doesn't smell and parking is easy too!

Love the pharmacists and technicians....they are very conscientious, detailed, and kind. Very friendly and trustworthy!!!

Please take time to visit this store, you are very fortunate customers to have this wonderful experience everyday. I visited this location daily last week (early in the morning) while visiting family, the SALAD BAR was my choice. There are other eateries in the area but the SALAD BAR presentation was so inviting, I asked to meet the Employee responsible (Ms. Jan) greeted me and I shared with enthusiasm how much I appreciated her attention to every selection on the bar. When I'm in the area again, guess where I'm headed to "GIANT". Managers please appreciate all this Employee contributes to the 5-stars this review received.

I shop at my Giant, the one by where I live, pretty much nightly. The cashiers ate always friendly and on the very rare occasions I need to ask for anything in the store they are always courteous and get me right to what I am looking for. The store I shop at is #741 @ 5469 Mapledale Plaza in Dale City, VA.

This is my neighborhood grocery store. All departments like produce, seafood and meats have a broad selection. They would even fry fish free of charge. The fish taste just as good as hone and no grease mess.

I love this store. I’ve been buying most of my groceries at this location since 2006. Fresh, clean food. Truly amazing staff too.

Giant has been around for decades. Consistently friendly, clean and reasonably priced.

Of all the Giants in my area this is the best maintained and feels like it’s the cleanest. The staff is always friendly and management has always been quick to resolve any issues.
