Mitsuwa Marketplace - Irvine

We went to the food court, there are not many options but the food was good with fair price.

The heart and soul of an authentic native Japanese dish at an unbeatable price. Look at the picture and be assured of its freshness and healthiness. It's self-service, so, do refrain from the unsustainable tipping culture. Resist those TV chefs who insulted our intelligence to pay for their restaurant employees. Tipping is an American form of gratitude - not a (tax free?) compensation of labor.

One of the best Mitsuwa in Southern California! It has a wide variety of groceries, fresh sushi, fresh seafood and pastries. The food court a good selection of Japanese street food. It even has a Daiso inside!

Simply amazing. Selection of authentic Japanese items and the atmosphere is friendly. Don't skip out on the food court in the back!! If parking is crazy, there's some in the back of the building as well that many are not aware. Highly recommend. (And Diaso is next door too)

The cleanest Mitsuwa I’ve been in. Friendly, excellent lighting and layout and super clean. Did not try the food but it was packed inside and everyone seemed to be loving the food from the different outlets.

Has everything you need for making a great Japanese meal. There fish is great. Nice sake selection. And the small food court is great also. My favorite Asian food store!

I only had taken pictures of the food court. They have soooo many different Ramens, stir frys, curry, Japanese food galore... I would highly recommend for a lunch stop. There's also a Daiso attached to the Mitsuwa store by the food court. The store was clean and everyone I came across was happy, friendly and helpful.

I will say parking was a little tight, I have a larger vehicle and both tires on each side touched the parking spot lines. Also, there was not a lot of parking spots to choose from.

One of the better Japanese markets. They usually have the items we are looking for. Condiments, sake, rice, noodles. We shops here frequently.

Great Japanese supermartket. It is not a big store but it is provide all you need for daily life: produce, fish, meat, condiment, souce, snack, species, beer, sake etc

The ramen and the rice was fantastic!! Santouka was the place inside the marketplace that i ate from and it serves excellent food!! Although its cash only!! The ramen is slightly salty yet it fitted my taste completely!! It is perfect for someone who would love a simple food that fills your belly entirely... ♥

Great market! Lots of food and random fun things to shop for. My family and I ate from 2 different restaurants. I had the smoked salmon plate which turned out to be huge, so I shared it with others in my group. It was clean, plenty of seats to choose from. Absolutely want to go back to see more!

They have a great donut place inside with fancy frappaccunios. Their bakery sells non dairy smoothies. We picked up artisanal soy sauce here, the kind made in old fashioned wooden barrels, as well as Ramune, Pocky, and other the usual things. There's a Daiso in the same parking lot, too, which is great.

Never disappoints, beat Japanese grocery store in Orange county. Costa Mesa location is way bigger but the essentials are there

Great place for sushi supply's, like real wasabi, ginger and anything else that you would need for making sushi at home.

Great little store, all the items you can't get at a regular grocery store 😀

This market is a bit expensive compared to Tokyo Central or Seiwa marketplace
They have a bakery inside but kinda limited options compared to Mitsuwa in Costa Mesa
The pancake at the food court is really good though

Best place to buy Japanese grocery. They have Japanese melon and specialty Japanese spices. Everything you need to cook a Japanese meal.

Love the food court! Given how little square footage it is compared to the other locations, they sure know how to pack it with a punch. Suntouka Ramen is always a crowd favorite. There’s tonkatsu, a Hamada-ya bakery and a donut shop. It can get quite crowded during lunch time so make sure you find a seat before ordering

Maki rolls are a perfect example of simple and affordable sushi – a single ingredient is used in the centre of the rice and can be anything from salmon to tuna to green pepper to mushroom. Stepping up to futomaki which is essentially the same only a little larger need not make a big difference in price either. Wow. Cheap!!!
