Good this is a recent 2020 review. I grew up here, moved away and moved back. They've been helpful recently and kind. The only thing that I've noticed is impatient customers when there is clearly one other in line. They always greet the customer. Great staff

The staff here is always as friendly as they can be while often having to rush around, especially at the pharmacy. The company does not give this store enough help in the pharmacy or the rest of the store to be very honest. It can make things take longer than ideal but it’s due to no fault of the employees. They are always nice, greet me when I come in, etc.

Great place to buy a birthday card or shampoo but the pharmacy needs more staff so I can't recommend it.. I RARELY get a prescription, so I was surprised that it was not ready many hours later from when it was supposed to be ready. I had to wait to be served despite no one in front of me?Then told as I am paying, that my insurance would not cover it, so I ended up paying cash. Shame really, when your a customer based business, you should try to give them a better experience because your competition will.

This pharmacy is a hot mess. Last time I was in, I had to write down my meds for the clerk who didn't even know the generic for plavix. I told her I needed it for the holiday. Today a different clerk said it wasn't ready. I also needed an OTC that should have been readily available for purchase but apparently was not ordered. Additional questions arose.. If this was just a one off it would be excusable but the problems with customer service are frequent. It is a shame to see a once good pharmacy ruined by corporate decision making, bottom line thinking, and chronic understaffing and turnover. It is sad to see so many bad reviews and a corporate culture that doesn't believe in employee support and professionalism or in customerservice.

Picked up one of two prescriptions. Was told that it'd be an hour before the second prescription would be ready, that they just received it. DON'T BELIEVE THAT FOR ONE SECOND. Why would the same doctor send the second prescription at a different time. I believe that I was lied to. I live too far from pharmacy to return in an hour with my 88 year old husband. UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE, YET AGAIN!!!

TL:DR version: Due to this pharmacy causing insurance issues they cannot fix (meaning I have to pay out of pocket for medications instead of using my insurance) and being understaffed, I can't recommend this location.

Details:
In December, this CVS automatically filled one of my medications. I never picked it up because I still had medication left, so it got returned to stock. Early January I decided to switch to Publix Pharmacy because it would be more convenient and I had some minor issues with this CVS that made me want to switch pharmacies once my prescription plan changed this year. I requested to refill that medication at Publix because I actually need the medication now, and they told me my insurance said I filled it in December and won't cover it. I can see the claim on my insurance, so I called CVS to have them reverse it. They said they have no record of the claim, could not reverse it and to call my insurance company. So I called my insurance company who said that they can't reverse claims from outside pharmacies such as CVS, that CVS needs to do it. My insurance company confirmed they could see the claim and that it was sent from this specific CVS. So I called CVS back, there was nothing they could do because somehow it's not in their system. They said they were going to transfer it to the CVS help desk but I am not sure if that will result in anything. This got so frustrating, that I'm just going to end up paying out of pocket for it at Publix Pharmacy because I don't want to have to deal with it anymore and I need the medication. Luckily, it's going to be $14 for a 90 day supply….. But still, if this didn't happen I wouldn't have to pay anything (or very little) for this medication.

I used to work at a local clinic and a large part of my job was calling various pharmacies to work out patients' medication issues. I know for a fact that this SAME EXACT thing happened at another CVS in Gainesville, and that that CVS was able to fix the problem.

To make matters worse, they were understaffed today so all calls were going directly to voicemail meaning a game of phone tag.

I feel bad for the employees at this location. The woman on the phone was kind, but honestly did not have the time because she was one of two employees there.
