Metro Diner

My husband & I ate here this morning & it was super busy which is always a good sign. We decided to sit at the counter & the kitchen staff was definitely on point, very focused & working hard. They were pushing food out so fast even though they were absolutely packed. We could see all of the food coming out of the kitchen in the window and there was not one plate of food that didn't look absolutely perfect!! The portion sizes are perfect as well! Our server Samantha was absolutely amazing! She was very sweet & gave us amazing service! I highly recommend requesting her when dining here! This will now be our go to breakfast place when we come this way!

A little cramped but we can see why. Once you sit down the experience is excellent. We were greeted promptly by both hostess and server (Christi). Drink flew to the table with the quickness. Christi answered my question, was super helpful, and made suggestions that amplified the food like Cajun mustard! Being our first time I feel the red carpet was rolled out. We will be back and recommend this gem fully!!!

Really busy especially for weekend brunch, so there will likely be a short wait. But great brunch food. Strawberry shortcake pancakes were really good. Chicken & waffles and omelettes were great as well.

This little spot is very welcoming. As soon as we step through the door we were greeted with a smile. Our #1 Katy was on fire made sure we were satisfied and continued to check on us throughout our meal. Great hustle and kind, thank you again Katy. FYI food was fantastic enjoyed my Cinnamon Bun Pancake were Delightfully filling..thank you for the advice Katy.

For a real diner experience, come enjoy the fast, fun, and friendly crowd at Metro diner. Speedy service with charm and delicious Americana await! The biscuits and gravy were rich and flavorful with a fantastic texture. A+!

Went with my daughter on her recommendation. My first time. Our server, Cora, was so attentive, sweet, friendly and cheerful. I had the Avocado Breakfast Bowl...OH MY!! SUPER DELICIOUS! Very well prepared and simply tasty. The biscuit was devine. I was told the BLT was also very good. We were very satisfied with the outdoor seating, the delicious food and I would be remiss if I don't repeat how kind our server, Cora was. A+

if you have never been to the metro dinner in gainseville Florida before i higly reccommend that you check it out because the food is really amazing and the service is really out standing.
one of my favorite things on there menu would have to be the steak and egg scramble bowl it is really good and one of my favorite things on metro Diner's menu.
the reason why im giving this place five stars is because the atmosphere is really amazing and overall its just a wonderfull place to enjoy a great meal with family and or friends.
i will deffiently be returning to this place nextime when im in the gainseville Florida area it's really one of my favorite breakfast places to eat at when ever im in the gainseville florida area.

Metro Diner was a great place to eat at right after visiting the Florida Museum. They accommodated our large group (8 people and a baby), and our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The fried chicken Benedict is one to not miss out on. The egg was cooked perfect and the chicken was tender and juicy. Highly recommend Metro for an affordable, laid back, delicious dining experience.

The salads are fresh and crisp with good lean chicken and not too much breading. Philly Cheese had nice tender meat with no fat pieces and fresh delicious bread. Not too pricey but getting there. Service was professional. Only negative is the whole place could use a good cleaning.

I came in to eat something after a long night of work and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at this location! I am allergic to dairy and normally I have to be really picky about what I get and it's usually bland or messed up and still covered in butter. The staff actually even pulled out a brand new pan to make my food in to be sure of no dairy ending up in my food at all. This is the safest I've ever felt eating at a restaurant. I am so thankful for them doing this for me! They asked questions and everything possible that could be important. I just appreciates it so much!

This places success is held up by the fantastic people that work here. We sat at the kitchen counter and Josh was running the kitchen like a conductor of a symphony orchestra. It’s a diner with perfect food execution. We ate everything and didn’t have a single thing we could say could’ve been better. Loved how even when customers had unreasonable requests, the staff pivoted fast and delivered. You must visit and we highly recommend. Side note- we went to a food festival where Metro Diner participated and received a $5 off coupon. Just want to let you know the marketing works and we were impressed.

What a cool little diner. Service was great, and their speed is impressive. My wife ordered the chicken salad croissant with fruit salad. The croissant was light and buttery, and the chicken salad is delicious and has fresh grapes, too. Fruit salad has a mixture of melons, pineapple, grapes, and strawberries. All fresh. All wonderful. I ordered the beef tips with green beans. The beef tips smothered in brown gravy, fresh mushrooms with a line of mashed potatoes in the middle and fresh crisp cooked green beans on the other. I expect food to be overcooked at diners, and I was pleasantly surprised when all of our food arrived fresh and cooked perfectly. Stop in for a bite. You too will be happy you did.

Came here for a weekend brunch. This place was packed but the food was worth the wait. Got the fried chicken benedict and it was amazing! The cook on the eggs was perfect the chicken was hot and crispy. Home fries were alright though, they could’ve been a bit more crispy.

We visited today while it was quite busy. We come here often, as this location is the best! You can not find a better manager than Josh, the lady managing the food orders Teeda, is excellent! The highlight of our meals was cooked by Melvin, known as "Old School". This man is fantastic in all aspects!
If I could give more than 5 stars for each category, it would definitely be 10 or more. This Metro location is the best!!
My recommended dish is my old favorite called "The Breakfast Pie".

Isabel took great care of us. She gave great recommendations and the food was spectacular! I would have added a photo but I ate everything so fast that I forgot to take a picture. Highly recommend the country fried steak.

First time eating here. The meatloaf was great, and the omelet that my sister had was stuffed full! Always to happy to find a place that serves breakfast all day😊

Man. Metro Diner is one of my favorite places to hit up: good old-fashioned American comfort food and diner food. The one in Flagler was easily top 3 best fried chicken ever, I even made. I made it a point to personally tell the manager this. In Gainesville, i tried the meatloaf, and it is actually very, very good. If there's one near you, between Tampa and Jacksonville, definitely need to give it a try.

Highly recommend!! Came down for a rugby game and after seeing reviews on this place, had to try it out. Boy was i glad we came!! Food was amazing especially the chicken and waffles! The service was also pretty awesome. Our server Anna was very friendly and attentive. Stop reading this review and go see for yourself! And GET THE CHICKEN AND WAFFLES!
