I had an ugly experience with the Asheville store yesterday. I called Greenville with no further intent than asking for a phone call from the owner to make a suggestion about her POS machine in Asheville.

I was impressed by the manager on the phone. She genuinely wanted to help me. She could have just decided I wasn’t her problem but she went way over the top and above to not only listen to my experience but fix it. I was in genuine disbelief she was going to actually FIX the problem. This amazing manager bent over backwards to make things right. We rarely see this in retail, she is a true gem.

After helping me get my problems in Asheville squared away I promised to drive all the way to Greenville and start from scratch with my needs. I’m driving all the way from Buncombe County to Greenville because they are great. I could order whatever I need but I want to do business with this store now.

I hope the owner reads this and realizes we need this level of good service and good business etiquette in Asheville. We want a dance store we can feel happy doing business with. I’d prefer to support small business rather than the big online stores or Amazon. Now I’ll drive to Greenville when I can but I won’t always be able to do that.

We drove two hours and it was well worth the visit. My daughter needed new pointe shoes & we scheduled an appointment. When we got stuck in construction traffic and were going to arrive late, we called and they were able to accommodate us. They held the shoes she wears & made sure they fit properly. The staff was kind, had a sense of humor and were friendly.

They had a huge selection of black leotards as well as gorgeous colorful ones. An excellent selection of skirts as well. Sizes range from child through adult. There was a great selection of warm ups, and all the much needed accessories—bun holders, Bobby pins, toe pad, sewing kits.

We’re sadly at the end of my daughter’s dance career, but I would highly recommend this store.

Always receive excellent service there! My granddaughter is a dancer and we have been going to the Sock Basket for years!

The owner was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. We were buying point shoes for the first time and followed her lead. Our dance instructor was very happy with the fitting of our shoes. I had no idea what was involved in getting a good shoe but we were definitely treated right!!!

Lovely local dance store! Very helpful staff, nice selection and very clean. Staff is very knowledgeable about shoe fittings especially and take their time to make sure you are happy and safe.

This is a great place to get ballet shoes and more. I’m a first time dance mom and actually had no idea what to get. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about sizing and what different dance levels may require. I was on my lunch break and didn’t have a lot of time but the ladies took great care of me and quickly.

They have excellent products and a highly knowledgeable and friendly staff. I have been going to the Sock Basket for over 18 years, and they are the BEST!! They have the products you need for your dancer, and if they don't, they will quickly order them for you.

This place was wonderful. Everything was so neat and organized. It had wonderful people working there, they was ready to help find things, and just to answer questions if needed. To be honest, I can't find anything bad about this place. I will definitely be going back for all my dance needs.
