Old Town Oil

Wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised during my visit. Staff are helpful and take time to explain the intricacies of olive oil and what's on offer. These make quality gift ideas for friends and acquaintances you 'kinda care' for.

If memory serves, Old Town offer sit down tastings with bread and dips on certain days.

We always pass this place, but my partner and I finally stopped in recently. I am so glad we did, because it has changed our cooking! We went in just expecting to peruse and ended up leaving with oil for us, our friends, and as gifts for Mother’s Day. Sandra was very knowledgeable and friendly and even had some great recipe recommendations.

We had a great time sampling so many delicious options. Sandra was so helpful and just a delight to work with.

I am a customer and have been since the very first time I tasted their Balsamic vinegar at a street fair in Chicago back in 2006. Now I'm a mail order customer and I have never been disappointed in what they produce. This has to be my fourth or fifth time I have reordered.

8/7/2023…. I just got another order from Old Town Oil and I can’t begin to tell you the many recipes and uses I have invented with their wonderful vinegars! Try the fig balsamic and the jalapeño lime balsamic…. Excellent stuff. Champagne vinegar… wow it works in so many of my recipes with watermelon and basil… I use it to pickle jalapeños as well… great stuff! Love this store!

I loved this store, and Michael went out of his way to show us the various oils, and vinegar's. He had some great suggestions on how to use them as well. He had ideas on pairings that were so delicious together. Not only did I leave with some fabulous purchases for gifts and myself. I gained some knowledge to renew flavors in the kitchen! Thank you!

I first experienced Old Town Oil at my cousin’s home. It was the best olive oil & vinegar I have tasted, to my surprise, she sent me a box and the rest is history. I will not cook without my Old Town Oils. Looking forward to visiting the store.

The lady in this shop is so helpful. We purchased more than we planned to because she showed us so many interesting vinegars. Highly recommended

I have been buying oil and vinegar from OTO for a couple of years, and I love it. I can't eat salad with any crappy store-bought dressing any more. I placed an online order this week, and they had it shipped out within a couple of hours, and I received it the next day. I was not able to find their custom pour spouts on their online store, so I wrote a message to them in the "gift message" text box requesting that they add a couple to my order. They included them at no charge, along with a hand-written note thanking me for my order. Excellent customer service! I hope to make it to the physical store sometime when I am in Chicago, but I'm afraid of how much money I might spend.

Old Town Oil is a must stop place to go when strolling down Wells Street. You will leave with a new view of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. the expert pairings by the employees and the samples could keep you in this little shop for hours. I have become an oil and balsamic vinegar addict thanks to Old Town Oil.
If you're looking for that gift for someone who has everything a bottle of balsamic will blow their mind and make you their favorite son-in-law.

I was there with a friend and though I did not buy anything I felt like I should give the place a review. They were so nice to both of us, the service was impeccable, and I truly have to go back there as I live so close. I feel like I have to support small businesses, so, here it is! Way to goo Old Town Oil!

Delicious oils and balsamics and a great variety!

You'll never buy store brand oil again after shopping here. It isn't too pricey either, about $17-18 for a half liter bottle. They have nice gift boxes too (mix and match).

Stopped in to pick up a bottle as a hostess gift and purchased a bottle of the Tuscan Herb olive oil for our house too. We sampled a variety of oils and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Visited here during the Old Town food tour and came away very impressed. There were several variations that were provided that were incredibly tasty. I plan on coming back to purchase some of the oils and vinegar that we tried.

I'm so glad the shop is open for tasting. I love the variety and the staff is wonderful and give great advice on trying new oils.

I dont live in Chicago, but my daughter bring me a wonderful gift, a set of two kinds of oil, an two of balsamic. I recomended all my friends. The taste is delicious . I live in Lima Peru

Absolutely great store. Diverse olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Tremendous variety. This store has improved my cooking as well as increased my desire to cook.

Great selection. I did a pickup order and the hours listed on google do not match the actual hours. When I called the next day, the hours were correct on the automated answering service.

Amazing oils and vinegars. My one recommendation is the Picual Olive Oil. Otherwise, you can't go wrong and the brothers who run the shop is knowledgeable and will not steer you wrong.

It was such a treat and nice experience to learn all about oil and vinegar. Will definitely go back once I finished my bottles.
