il Mercato Holmdel

I’ve been wanting to try Il Mercato for awhile since it has been fully renovated. I’m so glad I finally made it in, and I’ll be back tomorrow! We got a sampling of everything from sandwiches to pasta, roasted veggies and deli options for home. All of it was delicious, reasonably priced for a specialty Italian deli and the staff friendly & helpful.

I see they have an extensive catering menu too- Sunday football, Sunday sauce and holidays. That will take some of the work out of special occasions.

Great place! We went here for lunch after a job and it was a great pick! The inside and outside are completely updated and it look amazing! There is a little picnic area in the back where you can go and eat your lunch or breakfast. We got “The Classic” sandwich and spinach roll, they were both phenomenal. They have our business!

What a beautiful shop!! The minute you walk in you are struck by the architecture. From the classic black & white floor and the crisp white food cases.. All food displays were immaculate, neat & tempting.( food displayed on large white platters is so tasteful )
I don’t write reviews often, probably because there aren’t many places that have impressed me with such detail. As we tried to decide on lunch, I was praying the food was a good as the place. It was delicious!!! We had lunch and brought dinner home. I was hoping the food was great so I could look forward to coming back to this charming place….it’s the whole package! Owner and employees were so nice, food was delicious and the place was fabulous. Take a drive over you won’t be disappointed 🤩

The food is so delicious and the staff are wonderful! Check out the stuffed rolls (great variety and price!) and the various salads and sides really are terrific. I’ve stopped by to grab an easy side dish for dinner, a roll and some salad for lunch, or get a few items for a complete meal. The prices are extremely reasonable and I am so glad I stopped in for the first time a few months ago. It’s a favorite spot of mine. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

I needed 5 orders of the Sunday Sauce for 20 people. I called this morning and spoke with Mark who was very pleasant and helpful. The order was made fresh for me and ready by 1:30. It was perfectly prepared and everyone loved it! And the price is so reasonable. il Mercato has both quality food and superior service!

Out of this world delicious!

Truly some of the best food we’ve had - everything we’ve tried has been as special as the last. Christmas catering - crab stuffed mushrooms, pasta purses, and charcuterie - was all unbelievable. Breakfast sandwiches are the best we’ve had locally by far!

Today is the third time I've gotten a catering order from il Mercato and it is consistently excellent. The food is high-quality and delicious and the team there is great.
Each time my guests have raved about the food.
I also love the 'lunch box' small sandwiches which I've brought to the beach, race track and tailgating and each time they have been a hit.
I would highly recommend il mercato and will definitely order from them for my next event.

The Il Mercato salad is my favorite. I get it every time I visit. My son enjoys their hot sandwiches. Today he got the Ruben.
They have a lot of premade salads, wraps, sides, and even entrees. As well as fresh and dried meats, and desserts.
They also have gluten-free pasta!

Today I stopped in on my way to a job just to get a quick bite and I was amazed when I walked in and saw all different types of food that all looked amazing. After looking at the menu I chose the RB sandwich and it blew me away it was the best roast beef I’ve had in a long time. If you are in the area this is definitely a place to stop

I never have had Thanksgiving catering done before. I have to say this is a great idea if you don’t want to cook and have a mess in the kitchen. Il Mercato Holmdel prepared a delicious meal from turkey to dessert. Pasta, mash potatoes, sausage stuffing, string beans and apple crumb pie.

Had a pork roll, egg, and cheddar. Everything was delicious. Fresh sliced pork roll. Kaiser bun was excellent. Eggs and cheese were perfect. Lots of drinks. Can't wait to try more.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone 💓 I can't brag enough how amazing was the food that we had ordered for Thanksgiving dinner. My kitchen is clean lol and belly is full. Food was very fresh and very tasty. My fav place to order from. Definitely coming back for more delicious food.

il mercato deli is the BESTt deli around! The food is fresh and delicious and the menu is extensive. We are also catered our first party and EVERYTHING was just perfect!! A BIG THANK YOU!

This area has gotten quite the upgrade with Il Mercato. I was on maternity leave when they first opened. Shortly after returning, I forgot my lunch, but remembered Il Mercato had opened and the rest was history. I think I'll forget my lunch tomorrow too!

We finally got to stop in after passing by and wanting to try it so many times. Cute Italian deli, family owned with excellent homemade food. We got the CPV sandwich (chicken cutlet prosciutto and fresh motz with vodka sauce) absolutely the best sandwich. The bread is fresh and tasty, just enough vodka sauce and the house made fresh mozzarella was a perfect combination! We can't wait to go back to try other tasty treats. Plus the friendly staff and helpful young man working was a nice welcome.

We LOVE il Mercato and are so happy they are here now! The food is always fresh and delicious, the prices are so reasonable and everyone is always so friendly and nice. A must in Holmdel!

Fabulous local deli! We have used Il Mercato numerous time for catering and are always impressed by the taste and the quality. It gets rave reviews from our guests. We also go weekly for their chicken cutlets!

Highly recommend Il Mercato!

Went in for a pork roll egg and cheese. Was delicious. And the prepared foods looked amazing.

Stopped in for lunch! So many FRESH options…loved the spinach roll and chicken cutlet sandwich…delicious!!! We will definitely be back!!
