Bergdorf Goodman's Men's Store

One of the best shopping experiences ever. With a dedicated men's building you feel welcome on every floor. The sales staff are attentive but never pushy. Each floor offers a different style with the third floor being the most contemporary. The second floor also has a restaurant/bar that is outstanding. I know it sounds strange but it's true. It was a true joy to shop there as well as getting a bite to eat. This is the best men's luxury department store that I've ever had the joy of purchasing from. Take your time, visit each specialty department and listen to the staff.

If you want the elite shopping experience in New York City, this is the place for men. The staff are spot on. The selection is curated. And the setting is embracing.

Bergdorf Goodman's Men's Shoe Library is a world-class purveyor of luxury footwear. They maintain the finest department store dress shoe selection when compared to Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Sax's Fifth Avenue (Exception - Corthay). Bergdorf house's brands such as Stefano Bemer, Bontoni, Santoni, Berluti, Kiton, Salvatore Ferragamo, and many more. Furthermore, their customer service, ambiance, and décor are unrivaled. It was a pleasure shopping here and I shall return.

There are a lot of comments about how “1%” this place is. It’s true that the products aren’t cheap. But, as a counterpoint, I just want to explain how this store is the very opposite of elitist. I am young and a person of color. I am usually ignored by salesmen at midmarket places like Brooks Brothers unless I walk in after work wearing business attire (once, someone ignored me until I picked up a shirt and started walking to the fitting room; at that point, he literally sprinted towards me as if I were going to stuff it into my pants and take off). Anyway, I only tell this anecdote because, perhaps surprisingly, Bergdorf—which is substantially more upmarket than BB—unfailingly treats me with respect and, even more, with an obvious eagerness to keep me as a customer. Once, there was a small altercation between two customers and, if you could have seen the way all of the staff reacted, you would think they were Secret Service agents rushing to guard me and the other patrons. I know, it’s another extreme anecdote, but it’s a true story, and stands in stark contrast to my treatment elsewhere. I truly hope this establishment remains a New York staple forever.
