Lucas Pipe & Tobacco

It was such a great relief finding this place. Since moving to Las Cruces last August, I have not been able to find (until now) a decent seller of pipe tobacco. There seem to be numerous tobacco shops in this town, but the others that I have visited all sell the same, very bland, brands of tobacco that have the look, feel, and taste of dried grass. The selection provided at Lucas Pipe and Tobacco is reminiscent of what I used to find in my favorite tobacco shop back in the East Coast - very flavorful and aromatic. And the proprietor was very friendly and helpful. I expect that this will now be my regular "go to" place for pipe tobacco and cigars.

Great service and broad selection of custom pipe tobaccos and decent sized humidor and cigar selection! I didn’t have time before my flight to pick up my custom pipe tobacco. I told Louis what I liked and he made an excellent custom mix for me that was excellent! Louis knows his blends!
This was the only tobacco shop I found in the Las Cruces area. Oh yea, located inside Ramada Inn.

Always a great little place to visit. I believe the fact that it’s small and intimate allows them to keep their cigars super fresh and their prices reasonable. The staff and owner are always super friendly and will go out of their way to find a cigar that you might like. This is a great little gem of a cigar shop.

First time cigar smoker and owner was more than happy to help me with everything. He explain everything to me without hesitation, from size to shape and strength of the cigar. I never realised how much of an art cigars can be.

Visited here briefly from out of town. Guy working there was very helpful and friendly. Gave me a good recommendation for a cigar I've yet to try and looking forward to it!

Been smoking cigars for about 2 1/2 to 3 years now and I've only bought my cigars here. Wyatt usually attends me and we go on about coffee and cigars plus he's always recommended good cigars. I've been helped by cliff a few times as well and he recommended a Kendall 720 lancero that is very good👍 . Plus the other day I went in with my wife and I believe it was the owner and cliff and the owner recommended a very nicely aged tatuaje that smoked beautifully. Best cigar shop in town and never been let down recommended to all cigar smokers👌

Many years ago this was my Go-To place to buy cigarette tobacco, but I switched to vaping and hadn't visited in about 10 years or more. I recently visited to get some cigars for myself and a friend. I think I'd only smoked a cigar once before in my life! I told Lou what I was looking for in a cigar and he came up with a couple recommendations. Lou could have pointed me to a pricey cigar, and I wouldn't have doubted him. Instead he recommended a couple very reasonably priced cigars, and his recommendation was perfect. If you're shopping, I couldn't recommend a better shop. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and seem genuinely interested in finding the right cigar for you.

Best cigar shop in town! Always helpful , friendly , and definitely are appreciative of a good stogey ! Don’t go anywhere but here when in cruces ! Would give a 10/5 stars if I could ! The way every business should be ran !

I live, literally, 100 miles away, but this is the ONLY place I'll go for my pipe tobacco. Wyatt and the rest of the staff are phenomenal. Really down-to-earth folks that give you that true brick-and-mortar store feel. They really know their stuff on cigars, and pipe tobacco. As a daily cigar and/or pipe smoker, you couldn't ask more more friendly, knowledgeable people!

Located inside the Ramada, this place is an Absolutely phenomenal store! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and got me squared away for all my pipe and tobacco needs. Friendly and warm atmosphere. If you’re looking for a cigar or a pipe for tobacco this is your place.

My experience here every single time I’ve been here I’ve had such a good experience! The young guy, gave very good recommendations! He’s is helpful and knowledgeable with cigar! I would recommend this place 100! Percent!

I was in Las Cruces dropping my son off at NMSU for the spring semester. I stayed at the Ramada (decent place BTW). I was unaware that there was a cigar shop at the hotel. I bought a cigar unknown to me (Umbagog) and very much enjoyed it. Great place good people. Stop by when you are in town and get a beer at Bosque!

The owner is very friendly and helpful. It's a small place but definitely to best anywhere near Los Cruces.

Great little shop. I've been in a few times, but this time had a different feel. I'm not yet an aficionado, but I do know cigars and what kind of cigars I like. The owner is very knowledgeable and takes pride in what he does. I normally drive to a shop El Paso or order online to stock my humidor, but I think Lucas will be getting more of my business. I’ve been wanting to try and get into cigar smoking after having been introduced some years ago. I decided to check out Lucas P & T. I went inside the Ramada Hotel and in the lobby I found just what I was looking for. The Shop was attended to by Wyatt that day and he turned me onto the Fuentes I was looking for and another time steered me into getting the most for my money. On my last visit I had the pleasure of getting to be in there while the owner was in the shop. I have to say that with Cigars and my novice level of knowledge it would be easy to upsell me. I was surprised when the owner basically suggested a more reasonably priced cigar as opposed to my initial selection. I meant to go into spend a little because I THOUGHT it always equates to quality and the owner showed me a San Cristobal - Revelation and it was just that—-a revelation. I appreciate the advice and suggestions and I would recommend this place for any and all a persons tobacco need.

This is by far the best place to buy cigars. Knowledgeable and friendly staff will point you to the best cigars for you based on your taste. I come here every chance I get when I'm in town and have never been disappointed. Do your self a favor and come here for all your tobacco needs.

My father, David Ackerman, was one of Lou’s friends. I remember going into his shop and picking out Goobers and Lucerne while the horse races played on the tv and my dad and Lou went into the cigar room. I am happy this place is still there!

I've been doing business with these folks for over 3 years. Customer service is always excellent and friendly. They have everything for the pipe tobacco smoker including a great selection of tobaccos that they will even blend for you! My favorite is Cherry with Juan-Q (sometimes called Kiva). This is my favorite blend as the Juan-Q takes away all the bite that you get with the sugars in Cherry alone. They also have a really great selection of cigars from all over the world! Great place!

I've been going to this place for over 12 years for all my pipe tobacco and cigar needs. Lou is always a pleasure to talk to, takes the time to get to know his customers, and offers unvarnished recommendations. Never tries to upsell you on anything unless he knows your tastes and thinks you'll really enjoy it, often asks if you're sure about buying something if he thinks it's subpar. The honesty of a salesperson willing to talk bad about some of the products he carries and ask if you're really sure you wanna get that particular type of cigar is refreshing.

Can't recommend the place enough.

Best tobacco shop in town! Lucas knows his stuff and is great at explaining everything, so don't be afraid if you're new to the hobby! Great selection and prices. If I could rate more I would. I will definitely be going back and I encourage anyone to go support this great locally owned shop!
