Have you ever seen two life-sized mooses built out of chocolate well if you visit the village chocolate shop you will be able to see not one life-size moose built out of chocolate but two of them: And what's even more exciting they are an officially married couple with a marriage license from the state of Vermont to go along with it!

But it's not just chocolate mouses to get you all excited to come into the door they sell the world's most amazing and delicious gelato Yes that's right gelato ice cream from the gods that was bequeathed to the Italians by Zeus\Apollo himself!

I had the pumpkin flavored and it was spun into The most delicious milkshake I have ever drank in my entire life

It is almost an overwhelming experience all the different varieties and choices to choose from but as the saying goes you'll be like a kid in a candy shop

The Village Chocolate Shoppe draws many people into town with their large variety of amazing handmade treats. Fudge is available in many flavors as well as the traditional chocolate candies one would expect. They also have many decadent chocolate creations that you can't find anywhere else, the peanut butter Oreos covered in chocolate is one of my favorites. There are many seasonal items at great prices for all of your holiday gifting and they also have Vermont themed items. It's a warm and inviting environment as you watch the owners and friendly workers making their products. They also have gelato and ice cream available, so make sure to stop in anytime of the year to satisfy your sweet tooth. I will never forget cheering the crew on when they set the world record for making the largest Peanut Butter Cup a few years back!

So much chocolate! It was very yummy though and beautiful on the inside of the building. Owner or lady who worked there was very nice. And you can get individual chocolates too for only 65(ish) cents! And it's well worth it! Loved this cute little shoppe

Also the maple milk chocolate buttercream truffles are to die for!

My daughter visited there and brought me some amazingly delicious chocolate. I loved the lemon and olive oil dark chocolate bar!

Great chocolate shop on Main Street. They always have a variety of things to choose from and you can see the chocolate mooses in the store.

Chocolate...need I say more. Just the scent alone is intoxicating.

I mean, WHOA! BEST. GELATO. EVER! I had a chocolate dipped waffle cone with a scoop each of their homemade chocolate and maple gelato and they were both AMAZING. So much flavor and great texture. I also got a cup of pink grapefruit gelato to go - uh-maaazing! It’s a perfect balance of sweet, tart and refreshing. And, Booonus - they also make delicious homemade chocolate with so many flavors…AND creative “candy bar” squares layered with different combinations of yuuuuum! I can’t wait to try them all. Lastly, they have nostalgic candy and an array of other fun and delicious things. Definitely worth the trip!!! It will bring a lot of joy and delight to your day!

Absolutely lovely candy shop! The staff were soooo friendly and sweet! The prices were extremely fair and the chocolate is phenomenal (especially the chocolate coveted Blueberries!)

I really enjoyed my trip to the village chocolate shop! So many cute festive themed homemade chocolates for people of all ages to enjoy! They also have great homemade gelato in the back of the store and lots of candy if you’re not a chocolate person! Highly recommend!

Great shop with so many delicious options to choose from. The staff is very friendly and eager to help. This shops takes me back to my childhood. The fudge is simply amazing!

I wouldn't miss this if you're visiting Bennington. The diversity of treats is amazing! Tons of hand-made chocolates with a huge assortment of external products to boot. We bought a birthday medley and would do so again. Chocolate is chocolate, but being able to support a local business with great quality makes it superlative. The owners were also lovely to chat with. We'll be back! Also, don't skip the dark chocolate.

The most amazing and delicious chocolate you can find outside of Paris. The staff were pleasant and everything was wonderful!!! Not to mention the seasonal window display! I love this shop! The special Fridays are a treat all in themselves, like the make your own candy bar day.

Stopped here for ice cream and was glad to see they were open on July 5th. Nice clean shop and smiling faces. The homemade ice cream and chocolate peppermint patties were outstanding! We will be back!

I adore this place. In the fall and winter I like to walk over for a hot chocolate and then walk around our tiny downtown with Kris. The hot chocolate, no matter what flavor, is always perfect -- a real treat. A decadent treat.

I have yet to try the gelato (it's next on the list) but the array of flavors is impressive and spans the standard to the seasonal.

The shop has a great, and diverse, selection. There are retro candies, gift items, bagged house specialties (like the popcorn and malt balls), fresh fudge, and the amazing chocolates. Truffles, bars, chocolate covered everything... everything is gorgeous and delicious.

A great spot for tourists and townies with which to fall in love.
