California Organics

The cafe is a true gem in this wonderful little Northern California town which is my favorite getaway place. I always love discovering new places just when I thought all possibilities have been exhausted. The menu offerings are so original, the ingredients so fresh and the portions so generous, how can such a combination be surpassed? By the friendly service and smiles all around, that's how! Highly recommended for a healthy meal and a hospitable welcome.

Really happy we have something like Cali O in town. My partner and I go here often to grab a bite to eat. We love their burgers- from the black and blue, to the portobello burger to the kale salad, curry coleslaw, curry fries, chicken wings... it’s all so good & made with quality ingredients. The staff is super nice too.

I bought the meatloaf dinner and it was so good that It brought tears of joy and memories of my childhood! Thank you so much.❤❤❤❤❤ I give you five hearts on top of the five stars!

I've been shopping here since I moved to the area over a year ago, but have never eaten at the restaurant. I've gotten grab and go sandwiches and deli items; they are always tasty and fresh. We ate at the restaurant and got a burger and fries and a club sandwich with gluten free bread. They have a ton of GF options, just about everything on the menu. The meat is absolutely delicious, really high quality, and the fries are indeed fresh! Service was friendly and efficient. I honestly feel like for the quality-to-price value, you can't beat it. I'm sorry I didn't eat here earlier but I definitely will again!

The grocery coop was absolutely charming, with its quaint and inviting atmosphere. The staff, particularly the delightful woman working at the deli, were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of local, nutritious, and innovative food choices available.

This is my second time being here (and second review of being here). I love this place! It was just as great the second time as the first. Our waitress was training a new waitress and they were both amazing. I ordered the vegan power salad and a mimosa. Both crazy delicious. My daughter got the cheesy garlic twists and onion rings and loved them! I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in Nevada City, thanks so much!

This is such a great little store. I have been going here for years and they have a little of everything you need!! Fresh organic produce, deli, vitamins, herbs, chocolate, health and wellness supplies and much much more! The have plenty of parking and now Sushi in the raw is attached and just an all around little gem for NvC!! I love California Organics!! Many Mahalos!! 🙏🏼✨😋

This organic focused grocery is my go-to. It is so convenient and never has any lines. They also have a unique and extensive wine and beer selection, as well as a lot of products for specific food preferences. They've even added sushi to go in the front case!! The experience here makes grocery shopping fun!

Came for sushi at Sushi in the Raw and it was delicious! Atmosphere I'd obviously different but it's not enough to change my opinion of the establishment. Food was on par with every previous experience and I will absolutely be back!

Review for Sushi in the Raw: We went to Sushi in the Raw's new location at California Organics, unsure of how it would be or if the quality of the food would be the same. Rest assured that the menu and quality of food and service is identical to the original location. We had a completely outstanding meal. We had shooters, miso soup, edamame, nigiri, and rolls. Everything was to die for. The setting was pleasant as well and basically separate from the grocery store, with its own entrance. Can't wait to go back.

I have been here to shop and eat at the cafe. I love the atmosphere and the food is so tasty. My favorite is the Thai wrap with sweet potato fries it's amazing. My 2 year old likes it too! The staff are all very friendly too!

I love shopping here. The knowledgeable and friendly staff are always attentive and quick to tend to any questions or requests. I have worked in the kitchen and can personally attest to its cleanliness and the quality of the prepared food. Additionally, the cafe items are delicious and prepared fresh. Great vegan and vegetarian options. Once, while vegan, I nearly cried after finding their many affordable vegan options.

Love the mellow vibes here. Great organic food and deli with restaurant as well. People are wise, friendly and free from the propaganda machine that has made so many minds unhealthy. I only shop where they don’t impose on my personal freedom. The place has really taken on a special role in the town. Taken plenty of heat for their courage too. Support these great people!

SOOOOO good!! Highly recommend anything with the Pineapple Salsa. Everything is so fresh and elegantly presented, it's easy to forget that you're in a quaint, little cafe. The service is great and the food is outstanding, especially if you're looking for Vegan options.

Incredible food from the restaurant and selection from the grocery store. My coworker had an amazing burger and I had excellent tofu tacos, this place has got something for everyone and is all as fresh local and organic as can be. If I could give my experience 100 stars I would. The staff and owner remind me why small businesses like this are essential for the character and charm of the Nevada County community.

My partner needed some specific, medicinal herbs. I had never been to California Organics before, so did not know what to expect. What I found was a very friendly staff, easy self serve and a good selection of quality bulk herbs.
I have been back twice now and the place is calm and friendly. Not as judgemental or egalitarian as many organic stores are. A nice place to shop. Will try their lovely deli, soon. Clean and friendly, no hassles at all.

I've only visited here a few times but plan to more. I first had brunch at their Cafe and it was excellent. Fresh healthy and tasty. I like the slower-paced atmosphere over the local co-op though their prices tend to be a bit higher on certain items. They do have good deals on other things. overall a nice mellow place to shop with all the natural foods that you could want. The staff are friendly and unpretentious as well.

If it's good for your health you'll find it here. Strolling through their produce section is like being in an art gallery- it's stunning. Their deli/cafe' offers pure deliciousness. And the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Just ask. You re gonna love it 😊

After my second visit here while once again in the area for work, 1.5 years after the first visit, I am still thoroughly impressed with California Organics. This is one of the best, most friendly, and coziest places to get a truly delicious meal made conscientiously from sustainable ingredients. The staff are wonderful, and the food reflects their skill, attention to detail, and care they put into their work and customers. Highly recommended!
