SPD Market

In a time when everything is so expensive due to the record breaking inflation problem in recent years, I can go into SPD Market and get a hardy breakfast for $3.50. You can't do that anywhere else. Nevada City is lucky to have such a Market run by people who care about their customers and community.

Wonderful locally owned family grocery store. SPD has the best quality produce around and you pay less than chain stores for several lettuce varieties. Also their Butchers are knowledgeable and stock very high quality meats.

Love the Nevada City location better than Grass Valley. Much more grocery selection and less crowded. Big produce selection! Top knotch butcher block.

Great place to shop. Fantastic selection that includes the local favorites South Fork Vodka and GM/GN Gin, showcasing a commitment to regional favorites. We also love the deli. Best sandwiches in town.

I grew up going to SPD born and raised in NC, so watching the store evolve is amazing. There are too many people, but that isn't their fault, and they always treat everyone with respect. I love the deli and meat counter

I bought a flank steak from the SPD butcher (grass fed beef), marinated the meat about 26 hrs, cooked it over a rotisserie, and it was best steak I had tasted in a very long time! I baked some hassleback potatoes, too. Excellent!

I love SPD

We've been shopping at the store since 1977 when my parents moved up to Nevada county.
At one time you could buy shoes clothing auto parts fishing supplies camping supplies you name it.
It still has quite a wide variety of items and possibly the best butcher shop in the county.
was happy to see that not much changed when my family moved back about 8 years ago to Nevada City.

Wide variety of items. Cashier was very friendly. Much better than a big box store. Will definitely return.

Nice small town store family owned and run. They have a great selection of produce and a real good deli. You have to try the SPDsandwich and the SPDsausage

I love this market. The meat counter was well stocked with beautifully marbled steaks and the pork chops were perfect. The bakery goods were fresh, and don't forget to check out the pastries at the back of the market.

A friendly little grocery store.

They have a nice selection in the produce department, and the meat department is accommodating and was able to meet our customized needs. On my last visit, they were able to make us 10 pounds of italian sausage.

Their cheese selection is a bit small.

The cashiers were friendly and pointed out that that my soup container was leaking, then they replaced it with no fuss.

Pricing on the groceries is fair.

Overall, I recommend coming here. See the difference.

So willing to help, I appreciate their customer service. Prices are high on most things except their spices. The SPD brand they are amazing bargain. Wonderful sandwiches and delicious meat department with old fashioned service.

Still love this store. One appreciated but easily overlooked thing: they have enough checkers and baggers! There's almost never a wait for more than one customer.

Hands down the best place to go to get your meat's. Try the bacon burgers they're delicious.

Grass valley spd has the best meet department that I've seen in the state. Excellent tasty cuts. Deli is good too and has big tasty sammiches for good prices

I love the SPD Meat Market they have I consider the best meat in town there prices are standard to other grocery stores.they do have sales that are always good deals . 70/30 bugers 299 a lb standard better then most
