High Sierra Electric & Generators

We have had an issue for over two months to get someone to actually show up to do the first service on our Generac. Three appointments booked weeks in advance and then no one showed up and meanwhile hours were collecting on the generator. We called several places yesterday again and they were booked out for months. High Sierra returned a call and I explained the situation, our frustration, the hours on the generator and they agreed to try and fit us in. They called this morning and were able to fit us in early this morning before they started their normal day. Edison answered every question we had, walked through the service and what was being done, and suggested a change out for a better battery. Could not be more happy with the prompt service that we received and will be using them in the future.

Edison responded in the same day for my request to service a severely neglected residential generator. He and his team travelled to our remote location and fixed the generator in a short amount of time. They even brought propane as there was none available onsite. And since I couldn’t be there for the call, Edison emailed me a video of the generator running. All in all, excellent service and well worth the money. Not cheap, but thousands of dollars cheaper than a replacement!

I needed help with my new generator. When I called High Sierra, they returned my call right away. (I had been calling my original installer for 2 weeks. They had not called me back and another power outage was happening that afternoon.) A gentleman named Edison took the time to talk me through how to open the generator, check the oil level, and how to add oil to get me through the next PG&E power outage which was to happen in a few hours. I can't thank him enough. He was so nice and patient and clear with his instructions. Huge thanks.

High Sierra Electric installed a home standby generator at my house. They where very professional and I'm super satisfied with the install. The owner of the company walked me through how to operate my unit and the install looks absolutely wonderful! I've had a few other companies do a walk through and HSE was by far the most knowledgeable and thurough. They know what they are doing. I would recommended them by far to anybody. I've got nothing but good to say about this company. I've recommended them to several of my friends.

We recently purchased a used motor home from a dealer who misrepresented its condition. It turned out that it had some serious problems with the generator and house charging system. By sheer luck, we found High Sierra Electric not only serviced generators, but they were very experienced with many aspects of RV repair. The problems were rather complex, and probably beyond that which most RV service providers could diagnose, let alone rectify! We wasted a lot of time and money elsewhere, before the most knowledgeable and friendly people at High Sierra Electric solved our many problems, and beyond those electrical. On many occasions, we have called on them for practical advice concerning the care and maintenance of our motor home, which we now use with great confidence that we have such great great support from HSE. They even repaired our home generator free of charge, when gasoline poured out of the carburetor at a most inconvenient time, in snow, rain, and without power! These people are great.

Highly recommend HSE for your whole home backup generator needs. Edison is always very responsive and highly safety conscious. He came to our home, assessed the options for us, and laid out a plan to ensure our home is never without power when we need it. The final written estimate was clear and simple (and lower than the initial verbal estimate). The work was delivered and installed as promised. Our 22kw Generac generator looks great and Edison and his team clearly showed my wife and I how to operate it. HSE works with many of our neighbors in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area which makes planning any regular maintenance calls convenient. If you need a generator, call HSE!

Absolutely on point and professional! We had lost power to our home do to a problem in the main electrical panel, and Edison and Russ responded very well to our needs. They had already fixed our generator so it was reliable to provide us with back up power in the interim keeping my grandfathers oxygen machine working. Not the cheapest outfit in town, but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for.

I highly recommend High Sierra for any of your electrical needs including servicing and maintenance of generators. Edison is professional, polite and responds quickly when messages are left at his office. Plus he knows what he is doing! In addition, If you hire Edison you may get to see his beautiful dog which sometimes goes on calls with him.

I highly recommend HSE for all your generator repairs and services. I have worked with Edison for several years and he is reliable and knowledgable . Recently I needed a small but hard to locate part for my Generac 17 KW generator and after calling multiple places in town only Edison was able to easily locate the part and give it to me! Totally helped me out in a pinch. I will definitely continue to use HSE for my generator needs as we all know how precious are generators are !

We are first-time generator owners. After Volz Bros. gave us an excellent referral to a Honda eu7000is, and a brilliant referral to an electrician, we began learning about our new device and preparing it for operation. It made more sense for us to assemble the wheels, and to get the oil and fuel ready, instead of paying the electrician to do the simple stuff. Plus we don't want to take him away from all the other people who need him during fire season.

Motor Electric referred me to Edison, and Edison gave me some excellent advice free of charge. He said 20 minutes operation a month would keep the battery charged up, or I could trickle charge the battery. And then he referred me to the airport for aviation fuel, since the fuel is already stabilized and has a minimum 5 year shelf life, and probably more. Getting the fuel couldn't have been easier, considering I had never been to the airport and had never pumped fuel there.

I am very grateful to Edison and to divine providence. The entire process of preparing the generator for the electrician could not have been easier. It runs like a champ, I'm doing the break-in right now.

We live at the end of a dirt road and depend on our large generator through many winter outages. We've used Ed several times to fix things when it's had problems beyond my ability to troubleshoot, and he's always been easy to deal with, fast to return calls, and shows up the same or next day at the agreed time.

Edison and Tim responded immediately to my need for a complex soaking tub installation.
Every aspect was attended to in the most efficient way possible, including improvising when there was a
very complex situation. My job got priority until it was completed.

I am very pleased and can't imagine that anyone else could have done this job so well, or maybe at all.

I had promt, quality and professional service. I needed a quick tune up and maintenance on my grandmother's unit. The whole team was marvelous! I have read some of these bad reviews and now see these people were probably the horrible ones not the business. I highly recommend High Sierra!

High Sierra Electric, a VERY, VERY GOOD firm, Edison is very good with the knowledge he has on home electrical problems ( also a Christian), I would highly recommend him @ his staff.

These guys came out to service my Kohler generator for a specific problem. They charged me around $300 for a standard service check but did not remedy the problem. I called and talked to the owner and told him that the service techs knew ahead of time why they were coming out but instead of addressing the specific issue they simply performed a routine maintenance service. He said he was not responsible. They failed to notice that one exhaust pipe looked completely new (paint not burned off on an 8 year old genny) and that this would indicate the generator was running on only one cylinder. When asked about this, the owner said it probably needed a valve adjustment but my genny doesn't have adjustable valves. When I brought up the idea of providing quality service as good business practice the owner replied, "Are you threatening me?" Woah! Steer clear of these guys.

I had difficulties in scheduling over the phone, and encountered a surprisingly unprofessional attitude by Edison, who in my opinion, should not be doing customer service. I went with another local company who has a delightful person handling scheduling and billing, and was much more upfront and reasonable about what to expect. The call fee or minimum fee is $68 instead of $240.

Pay for a year of service on one day, then HSE are never to be seen again. About a month after HSE did a routine generator maintenance and signed me up for the year maintenance contract, we had a problem of the generator not turning on. HSE wanted nothing to do with our problem. We had to call someone else that fixed it in no time. Do not recommend

Crook!!! Did 650.00 in repairs on generator in brand new RV without calling to let us know what he found was wrong. And the generator was just running a little rough.
no old parts, no phone calls, no written estimate, overcharged, and the nervous vibes he was giving off..He may not have even worked on it...got nothing to show for 650, runs the same. Then he freaked and stalked us on the phone just because we had to wait till the next day for payment and pick up to see if DeMartini was going to cover the repair. It was like he was so nervous he needed gas money now to go see his meth dealer.
Was acting sketchy the whole time but we left it anyway based on DeMartini's referral.
DeMartini's RV Sales told me they are no longer referring this company either because of the way this guy treats their customers and the only reason they referred him in the first place was because there is no one else up here and one of their staff told me "Oh, that guy? He's nuts"...which was upsetting after they referred me without warning...Since then I have heard the word around town and unfortunately it matches our experience...So much for shopping local.
