Haggen Food & Pharmacy

I have shopped at all the Haggen markets, particularly at the Brdwy/Camino Seco location. Honestly, I have not seen any difference in my average grocery bill. The meat/seafood department is excellent and offers higher quality meats and fresher seafood than I have seen in a long time. The beef is harvested from sustainable ranches, and seafood is flown in fresh. Here is one example. When I purchased some salmon from the case, it had a price card with, of course, the price, but the card also had, specifically, what river in Alaska the salmon was caught. Nice.

Haggen meat cutters are also more than helpful, knowledgeable, and are more than willing to do any specialty cutting for you.The produce is wonderful and fresh with several hard to find fruits and vegetables. All departments throughout the store have terrific weekly specials and sales as well.

Haggen may not have a store card or gas savings, but truly, if you think about where all those good deals come from, you may not be getting that "good deal" after all. Marketing can be sneaky.

I believe if you think about what you are preparing for your family and friends, wouldn't you want to know you are buying a great product? Or do you just want to go with what you consider, and ultimately tastes, "good deal cheap."

If you really think it is a little more expensive than other markets, then don't buy the trinkets and baubles you don't need, and certainly can't eat, and purchase what you do need, and want, which is good food.

So, go out of your comfort zone and routine, change is liberating. Try something new with an open mind, you just might like Haggen, and you just may find yourself staying in for dinner more often.....talk about savings.....
