Other Indian grocery options in Madison are fine and dandy unless one is as persnickety as I am about wanting to shop in a well-organized, well-stocked, well-managed environment where one is not tripping over items scattered on the floor; where shelves are not haphazardly stocked; or where, in some instances, what you need is unavailable. Equally important is the helpfulness and friendliness displayed by whoever is seated behind the counter. That sure makes all the difference and is one of the many reasons I opt to shop here over and over again! May Maharaja Grocery always maintain these high standards!!

We shop at this store a lot because they’re very nice friendly humble people that greet us with smile, amazing customer service, every one of them are very helpful. Also great price in the whole town. The owner Mr. Rohit has earned great respect and managed his business’s reputation with his kindness.

Been shopping here for years. Store is always neat, clean, well organized and well stocked, and yet the owner is open minded for reasonable suggestions about layout, product placements, and adding new products. Always very freindly and helpful with a genuine smile. Considering that its pretty much a one man show, it's commendable! Highly recommend this store.

We love being next to this place! The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Always have interesting things! Great place to stop for a soda or candy. Samosas and other fresh Indian dishes available for a quick lunch too!

They have a good selection of items. Good Indian food and treats and fresh fruits and vegetables and lots of rice to choose from and different selection of flours, desserts and drink items and those friendly customer service. Freshly made curries or dishes upon request that is available.

Once a month, we make a stop and pickup up delicious Indian cuisine that is already pre-made amd absolutely delicious! Owners are fantastic!

The two people that checked us out were very friendly and helpful. We grabbed some hot samosas to go that were a delicious snack. Very happy to find some of my favorite products there along with fresh okra in the middle of winter.

Cool! Neat little store, they pack a lot of varied items into a small store footprint. Just wandering the aisles looking at all the neat items makes me want to cook more. There were very nice looking fresh vegetables and fruits. They had frozen chicken and goat meat, looked very good. Nice bright store. Many different food and sauce mixes available. I also noticed they had beer, wine, liquor and cigarettes.

We are shopping at Maharaja grocery since we moved to Madison area. The store is well stocked and clean. All items are fresh and store is well organized. It is probably the best place for Desi items in Madison area.

Great store. Very helpful. Needed help on how to make a curry for two sets of people in our family. Some like spicy, some do not. How do you add spice after you've made the dish? This way I don't have to make two separate batches. They had an answer and the products to help. Also needed to know how to make a Mango Lassi. They had the ingredients to help and gave me instructions. Prices are a tad high, but I got a ton of value out of their hands-on help and advice. Well worth it.

Owner is very friendly treats customer with great respect. Some times if we are not able to locate an item, he will quickly stop by the customer and will help finding the things. Get good deals on festive items during festival season like Diwali, Dushera etc.

I've visited Maharaja grocery multiple times. The store is set in a great location. There is a variety of items. They have fresh vegetables, rice, flour, snacks, spices, lentils, and even fresh homemade curries and samosas. The customer service is very kind. They are always helpful and offer the best prices.

Maharaja is my go to place for all my Indian food needs and I am very happy with their service. Even when I haven't found an item, they've gotten it for me in their next supplies every time. Very accommodating owner and their staff.

Been going to Maharaja for a while and it has always been a good experience. Both the owners are very friendly and helped me find what I was looking for. The selection of fresh vegetables and frozen items is very extensive, they also bring in specific items ahead of corresponding festivals. While there, do not forget to get some home cooked food which is really tasty and healthy!

I have been living in Madison for 20 years, back in old days there were no Indian grocery stores in Madison at all. After few years we got this Maharaja Grocery store. Since then I am a regular customer to that store. I see the progress of the store when the ownership got transferred to the current owner. Ever since the current owner, Rohit, took up the store, I see tremendous improvements customer service and quality of products. Rohit and his family is very customer service oriented people, they give utmost respect to the customers. Personally I am impressed with quality of product they sell, and that too for that very reasonable prices.

I have been to other Indian grocery stores in town, but none can match Maharaja's quality and customer service. If you are looking for quality Indian products for a reasonable prices, I STRONGLY recommend to go to Maharaja Grocery store.

Very clean and nicely organized store. The store has a lot of Indian grocery varieties at truly reasonable rates. Owner is very caring, never lets you feel neglected. Every time I go to this store, I love it more.

The service is usually friendly, the selection is wide, and there are so many amazing spices. The typical reason I come is to buy paneer - they have a frozen variety which is flavorful but thaws very slowly, so I typically buy the refrigerated kind. However, the frozen stuff is the owner's favorite - on one visit into Maharaja he told me all about how it tastes exactly like paneer he bought in India as a child. Great place, be sure to also check out the wide variety of Indian breads!
