Best record store I've been to. I've probably spent over $2,000 at this place and I'm gonna spend more. Some of the nicest staff I've seen in any type of store and the staff really remembers you if you're a regular. It's amazing they remember me since I've had to go less and less lately. But they are so nice and have always helped me get the records I want

This store has a great selection to pick from, I never leave empty handed even when I go in to just look. The staff is always so willing and happy to help each time I come in.
I even came here to participate in my first Record Store Day this year and it was great! They had a ton of stuff from my wishlist. A wonderful store!

Absolutely my favorite record store in Milwaukee. The only place I can ever find any Goth or Post Punk music. Great selection, always finding new and interesting things there, and a good place to get a shirt too. I have to come here every month or two, and always end up buying way more than I told myself I would. Go in here, buy a bunch of music, then go next door to Half Price books and buy even more.

Nice range of music selections on vinyl and CD, movies on blu-ray and DVD, and the Metal Haus offers metal up the wazoo. If you’ve been to this store when it was the Exclusive Company you will find not much is noticeably different besides the carpeting.

Just love this place. Volta, formerly The Exclusive Company, carries an amazing selection of vinyl, CD’s and accessories for both the avid collector and those just starting out. A large percentage of my nearly 6000 vinyl records have come from Volta, and I continue to shop there on a regular basis.

Talk about selection! There is seldom a time when they don’t stock something I’m looking for, and of course crate digging and coming across some oddball record by accident is the best feeling. Their selection is just incredible, consisting of new releases, used records that are fairly priced and not graded below very good (VG). You’ll never pickup a used record and worry that it’s going to be unplayable; they clean and inspect everything that they take in, and only put out for sale records worthy of purchase. And finally, the pricing is fair for what you’re getting. New records are expensive compared to the old days when new releases were $3.98, but that’s not something they control. They’re as fair as possible with prices.

The atmosphere at Volta is one that focuses on the music and the music only. In my experience at the combined Exclusive/Volta stores, the workers have been friendly and sincere, even occasionally commenting on something I’m purchasing in a positive way. Without any of the holier than thou attitude of record store employees of yore.

I give Volta five stars because they deserve them, and I’d give more if possible.

Big, huge, clean and inviting record store with a humongous diverse selection including an entire room of METAL. Owner is very cool and super nice. Excellent shop.

I’ve come here consistently for about a year now for CDs and vinyls. The staff is always so friendly and it’s such a nice environment. They have excellent product! Would definitely recommend this place!

I loved my first visit to Volta! I have been to this store many times back when it was an Exclusive Co. location, but I love what they’ve done with the place!

As a pretty picky collector, I was ecstatic to leave with a hefty selection of gems for such a reasonable price!

Always a good experience. Most of the time they have what I'm looking for. I really try to avoid Amazon for hard to find music. I will always patronize local first. Exclusive is my zen place.

I really enjoy coming here, there's always a massive selection of vinyl and a section exclusive to metal vinyl. The really hard to find CDs (like records from international artists) also be found here too. It's really great and I highly recommend checking this place out.

I was really glad that I made the hour-long trip to visit this store. There is so much great stuff to dig through and the metal room has an excellent selection as well. Will definitely be returning soon!

It's basically Exclusive Company with a new name. It's still the most high quality store for buying CD's and DVD's. Everything is catalogued and categorized so perfectly. Eric is a really cool guy too. Make sure you visit there on a day when he's working. Great guy to discuss prog rock and experimental music with.

Volta Records is the old Exclusive Company which (thankfully) got bought out by a local couple. The Exclusive Company's Greenfield store was BY FAR their best remaining location before the franchise was liquidated in the spring/summer of 2022. Volta Records inherits a lot of titles, new & used, and often can order what you want. They have an interesting 45's bin, which is always nice. Staff is friendly & knowledgeable. My criticism is that Volta Records could stand to freshen-up their inventory of major rock & jazz artists in new vinyl. Volta gets a lot a new arrivals in used vinyl. For vinyl heads in the area, it's definitely worth a stop.
