LifeSource Natural Foods

Lifesource is one of my favorite places in Salem. Sure they have great snacks and food - most grocery stores do. There is something special about lifesource though. When you walk in the door there’s a smell of all the tasty deli food they have made that makes me feel like I’m home and I never want to leave.

One time I was in line and an older gentleman in front of me was having a conversation with the cashier and he told her how much he appreciated her and they had a moment together that was really touching and I was standing there like a weirdo nearly crying trying not to obviously listen in. It was a sweet moment that I’ve felt many times while I’ve shopped - thanks.

I’ve also met some neat folks at their bike rack. it’s one of the only places in town that always has more than one bike parked at the rack so chances are you’ll get to talk to a fellow cyclist. And I should say, they sure do have a giant rack.

Kudos for having a separate systems for bringing in your bags/jars credits and rewards for shopping so I can donate and get a cheaper price.

We absolutely love this store! Locally owned, not a chain store! Lots of organic products to choose from when shopping. The bulk food section is amazing. The best part of the store is their "pharmacy" section. Not a true pharmacy, but lots of vitamins, supplements, etc., staffed by very knowledgeable people.
OK, their cookies are pretty good, too!

Salem, Oregon - Saturday (7/20/19) hit a high of 87* today and I decided to ride my bike to the best Natural Foods Grocer in the Willamette Valley. I am a big fan of LifeSource Natural Foods and love to hang out on the patio during the warm sunny days of summer. However today my mission was to eat a healthy dinner and was in the "Grab N Go" mode. My GNG selection was the Beet & Feta, Quinoa and the Oregon Kale Salad - Organic locally sourced produce that is super nutritious and heart healthy. Super Quick checkout service and friendly staff. Amazing selection of delicious prepared entrees / build your custom salad bar plus everything else you would expect from a top shelf Natural Food / Organic Grocery Store. The artisan pizza is super delicious and made with the freshest ingredients. Bicycle parking near the front entrance. *****Ten Stars*****

Great selection of primal/paleo options for folks like me and all-around awesome independent health foods store. Kind, helpful people work there and I love that it’s spacious but not overwhelmingly big like a lot of the massive health food stores out there. There is a loyalty/points system that gives you money back after so many purchases, too, which is nice. The hot foods area always offers a variety of healthy and delicious fare - on nice days, it’s great to sit outside under one of the umbrellas, have a meal and take a beat before continuing on with the day. I refill my big 3 gallon water container occasionally there, too. Great place. Highly recommend if you’re shopping in the area.

My favorite store in Salem! The staff is always friendly, helpful, & fun, the store is clean & comfortable. The store always supports an underserved community with their optional bag donations and it feels SO good to support small business!

My favorite store in Salem! Vegan pizza tempts me once a week (at least)… The staff is friendly and helpful! It feels like a true community and serving place. 🧡 Have you tried the brownies? Fresh baked goods? I am frequently impressed. Delicious!

Happy national pizza day! I’m a vegan 95% of the time and I love enjoying the buffet and salad bar plus their Togo items. But today I’ll sacrifice a huge belly ache rest of the day for this non vegan slice of pizza. It’s so yum!

What an oasis of yum! We stopped here for lunch and had incredible gluten free pizza, kombucha on tap, and loaded up on snacks while we were road tripping through salem. My son left his jacket behind, and the kind kind folks at life source sent us this package that we received today including his coat. What great folks and incredible care they give to their customers. Thank you!!!

Absolutely love this place. I enjoy walking here and browsing the aisles. I absolutely love the new expansion and wider aisles. Everything is always well stocked and there are always friendly staff nearby if you need help. They truly care about their customers and staff safety and I super appreciate their dedication to safety during this pandemic by following simple guidelines that are state mandated for the last 2 years. It is reassuring that they have not relented or become complacent like so many other places. Seeing comments like below just make me want to shop here even more and tell my friends, knowing people like that will NEVER shop there again makes me so much more comfortable! Thank you for always have a great selection of fruit and vegetables, bulk food items and delicious local honey also. I also like their customer rewards program and that I can donate my bring my own bag credit to charity! A+++++

I can’t believe the negative comments and I respect that everyone’s opinions should be valued. My experience with life-source is yes it is spendy so I shop around - they have the freshest sweetest fruit and items you can’t find anywhere else and amazingly generous sales - samples to try - the staff has never in possible 500+ visits have always gone above and beyond and been kind and Lifesource has the most generous easy return policy they stand by their products and no questions asked- I love you guys the whole Lifesource family and last and not least they give back to this community in beautiful ways…. Just another view of this community store - in gratitude thank you everyone for all you do to service your customers - from bulk foods - deli to cashiers ❤

LifeSource is an amazing local health food store. They have a wide variety of products. It can be your one stop shop for everything or provide a complement to your other grocery shops with their great selection of products. It’s great for those gluten and dairy free or have other dietary needs.

Thank you to all the employees who are so helpful and kind when I shop there. Yes, things are a bit pricey, but I am happy to pay a bit more for the service, knowledge, and selection that they offer. Keep up the great work LifeSource!!

I absolutely love this place. The quality of the food is always amazing. Everyone is so friendly, they really care about what they’re doing. LifeSource has honestly changed my life, I am so much healthier after discovering them. I always feel safe to ask questions or just look around and learn about new ingredients and dietary options. I’ve gone mostly plant based (and 100% ethically sourced) since I started shopping here, just because of how accessible and delicious the plant based options are. My body and mind are very grateful! Also, BEST TANGERINES IN TOWN!! ❤

Been shopping here for over a year now, and I have to say, the quality of the food in general is always consistent and excellent. The employees are helpful and friendly, the expansion and new layout makes it easier for people to shop around. Best organic store in Salem hands down!

Hands down the best natural food store I've ever shopped. Huge selection, good pricing, and very helpful staff. If they don't have what I need, they're very good about special ordering items. In the pandemic, it's one of the safest places to shop in Salem! This is my appreciation post!

I have no idea what it is about this place, but their customer service, friendliness, helpfulness, and overall atmosphere is top notch! Just walking into this store and breathing in the aroma(s) makes me feel healthier! This is my favorite place to go when I am craving unhealthy foods. Browsing their deli immediately helps me make better sustenance choices. Love this place!!!

Best beef in town! I eat a lot of beef and I only eat the best grass-fed beef. (Grass is what cows eat - simple fact!) This store has everything from affordable flank steak to pot roast and ground beef for some superb hamburgers. The prices are great on the quality meats too! I went to a different store and had a sad-face when I left. Whenever I leave LifeSource I have a great big smile! These people are pretty fun and they sure know their stuff too! They helped my wife find her local honey for her allergies and my son got an energy drink that had him bucking hay until the job was finished! I love this place! (Great Pizza by the slice too!)

We've been going there ever since they opened. Love the bulk food section...they recently started carrying my favorite coffee beans (Mocha Blend... that I could only find in Corvallis.... thanks Joyce 🥰). Always get almond butter too! If I'm looking for something in the supplements aisle, someone always asks if they can help!! Doing great job controlling social distancing... number of customers allowed in!!👍

Absolutely fantastic store. I recently moved to Salem from Portland and was worried that the health food stores here wouldn't be very good. Not so! Lifesource is the best one I've EVER been to anywhere. I always find what I'm looking for, and they also carry so many unusual/uncommon products that I haven't seen for quite a while. It's also very vegan-friendly, which is important to me. Great store and the people who work there are very nice, too.
