Our kayaking experience was amazing thanks to Jessica, her safety briefing was thorough, informative and entertaining! She made sure we knew what to do if we encountered bear sharks. The store was nicely stocked and her assistant Sophie made sure everyone was well attended. We will be coming back!

Emerson & Jessica are amazing! Rented a kayak from them and will do so again in the future. They have a great assistant named Sophie as well!

Awesome team there that helped us out (especially Jessica when we our canoe overturned in the lake). Super bonus on free bottled water with rental. We will definitely rent from them again:)

Great small little business we rented two paddle boards to paddleboard on Horsetooth reservoir very friendly. Don't just drive by stop in rent from this small business. This convenient store offers ice cold beer potato chips and has an ATM if you need cash. They also carry camping and boating supplies as well as milk and cheese.

My wife and I rented one of the paddle boards and launched from Little Biggs into horsetooth. Jessica was very helpful from the get-go. She really helped us know what to expect and where we were allowed to go on the paddle board. She walked down to the lakeside with us and made sure we didn't step in any muddy holes. She also made sure that we had plenty of supplies and sunscreen before we took off. The facility itself is a quaint little family-owned place that has a very homey feeling. The paddle board and all of the equipment worked very well and it was overall a wonderful experience. I would very highly recommend Little Bigs!

My boyfriend and I camped at Horsetooth Reservoir last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the service we received at Little Big’s. They had everything we needed all in one convenient location, and even had kayaks to rent! Jessica was exceptionally kind in showing us the ropes as it was our first time. I would highly recommend checking this place out!

This store and rental ship is fantastic! They have a great selection of items and their customer service is superb. Jessica and Patrick were very helpful getting us our kayaks. I’ll definitely be supporting this shop in the future for my rental needs. Highly recommended!!!

My sister and I came to rent two kayaks and a canoe, and it was a great experience! There were a few issues but nothing severe. Renting was a very easy process and Jessica was super friendly and informative the entire time. She seemed to really care about us having a good time on the reservoir, making sure we were all prepared, and that we understood all the safety issues. The rentals are actually pretty cheap compared to the actual rental place on the reservoir- the only issue is that you have to carry these heavy kayaks / canoes to the water, which can be 20 minutes or so (more on that later).

If you can carry moderately heavy stuff, would like to save some money on renting a canoe / kayak, and don’t mind doing some physical labor for a small amount of time, I would highly recommend it. For me and my sister, it honestly wasn’t too bad carrying stuff, and we’re in decent shape. For the heavy canoes and two person kayaks, they usually have wheels that will help you drag it to the water way easier.

If you are not physically able to carry moderately heavy stuff, I would not recommend this particular rental company,

Before you rent though, just a few things:
- the rental store is part of a convenience store, so it can be a bit easy to miss - it’s right next to a crosswalk though
- the rental store is roughly 15-25 minutes walking distance to the actual lake. Walking the kayaks and canoe is a long distance - it’s not too bad on the walk to the water. But after a few hours of rowing, swimming, and getting on to shore, you will be pretty tired so carrying the rentals back to the store might take longer.
- You should plan on returning to the store earlier then the expected return time... just because again, carrying the boats back when you’re tired up a hill is pretty exhausting.
- If you rent a canoe, Jessica recommended you need two people to properly handle a canoe. We were able to fit a cooler easily, and pack it full of snacks. A kayak doesn’t have a lot of room to carry stuff, and you might get away with a VERY small cooler. Be sure to bring some snacks and food though (and a trash bag). The cooler in the canoe was nice as it helped balance the boat - just make sure it can close and seal tight in case your canoe tips over.
- You will start in the no wake area of the reservoir. It’s relatively calm. Once you pass that, you should stay close to the wall of the reservoir away from the boats, as the waves from the motorboats can be a bit intimidating, especially for a first timer.

Little Big's is the go to place for rentals at Horsetooth! The most friendly service around. I've rented paddleboards and canoes here throughout the summers. I have always had an excellent experience and they are friendly and service-oriented. They're also great to your furry friends! My dog loves these folks and their water crafts are pet friendly.

Great little place that has everything you need for fun on or around the reservoir. Handy location for those items that you want without the hassle of driving all the way into town. You will be surprised by all the things they have. Everything from milk and eggs to snack foods and cold drinks. And this year they have full beer including a nice selection of craft beer. There’s plenty of firewood for the evenings, charcoal, lighter fluids, even propane tanks, and of course ice for the coolers. Folding chairs, blankets, flip-flops, towels, sunscreen , a wide variety of floating devices for bobbing in the water and life preservers for the boats. I could go on and on. Don’t miss their cooler full of ice cream and other frozen treats. Grab something refreshing and sit out on their back deck to relax and just enjoy the day.

I know what you're thinking. Why would I never need to come here? Uh, because it's hands down the best convenience store in Fort Collins. The owners are some of the most amazing people you will meet, and the selection of product for the area is unmatched in quantity and quality. If you want an awesome experience, you have to check this place out!!
