Main Street Books

Very quaint and cute bookstore. All new books and lots of little extras to peruse. They have cute stickers, bookmarks, candles, cards, etc. This is a great place to stop in and wander around. They also do prepaid book orders, and they'll leave your book with your name on it right outside the door. Very thoughtful and convenient as you're on the go.

Super cute standard bookstore. Clean and set up nicely. Offers some range of gift-able items to go with your book if you plan on buying as a gift. Not much for sale items. Has a good section for kids.

Loved this downtown book store. The interior was so cute and well laid out. I loved browsing all the sections of books as well as other local goods. They do book events which I’m very excited about attending.

I love bookstores. The more charming, the better. This bookstore has all the charm. It’s independently owned and has such a vast array of unique books! I love that they put staff yearly picks and suggestions along with the books. During the time I went they also had Galentines surprise books. It’s located right across from the college where you can wander and even hangout and read whatever you buy. Everyone in the store was so nice as well. Taking everyone I know back.

Anyone who loves independent bookstores has to visit this sweet store in the town of Davidson. The employees are nice & helpful. Neat gift items, unique greeting cards, classic books & kids department. Check it out!

This independent bookstore is a must see if you're ever in the Davidson downtown area. I was pleasantly surprised with the large selection of African American literature. The children's section was pretty impressive as well. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Such a cute store. The girl at the front was so sweet. I got one of their "Blind Dates With A Book" and I'm so excited to read it. Will definitely come back here!

Main Street Books is such a cute nook to find some great reads! It’s in the heart of Downtown Davidson. The staff is friendly and they have a cute little sitting area to read. We would highly recommend for a great place to stop to find some new reading material.

Stopped in for a quick visit while waiting for the play, my goddaughters were in, to start. I was in love with the store before I walked in! From the window display, Blind Date with a book options, variety of genres throughout the store, the friendly/knowledgeable staff and everything else I LOVED this store. If I’m ever in the area again I will stop by!

I love this bookstore! You can tell that the workers care about the customers and put in effort into making the store beautiful. Not only do they have basically every genre of books, but they also have knick knacks like socks, journals, postcards, puzzles, reading lamps, handmade soap, etc. They also have great events, I went to one of the author talks and it was greatly organized! 10/10 would recommend to stop by.

This gem of a store is always a Must when I am visiting friends in Davidson. It is a place where I feel like I could spend an entire afternoon!
Their selection of books is vast…the sprinkles of staff suggestions throughout the store are so helpful and really shows how much they love what they do and where they work!

Every time I go to Main Street Books (which I find an excuse to do anytime I pass through Davidson), I find myself absorbed by all the tantalizing books I’ve yet to read arranged with so much love and artistry. The ambience of the place and the shared love of reading demonstrated by the excellent staff make it the best of book stores. It is my happy place!

Main Street Books was greatly renovated this year, and I just visited the other day with my family. I am greatly impressed. It has everything a fantastic independent bookstore should have: a unique and beautiful interior, a curated selection of the best new and classic books, an amazing selection of greeting cards, bookmarks, and other book-related items, and an incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful staff. And a GREAT kids section, which my two girls (and myself) enjoyed. I will be back.

Owner of the bookstore graduated with our daughter from Davidson College! We love to support independent book sellers-and understand how critical they are to the economy of communities! Super selections and staff is very helpful!

Main Street Books has a great balance and selection in their stock and I always find something new I haven't read yet. My kids (age range 1 to 9) also love her welcoming touches for younger readers so there is something here for all of us. I always give Main Street books gift cards as birthday gifts as well. It never disappoints.

Such a gem of a bookstore! Great selection for both adults and kids. I found so many things that I wanted to buy. Finally had to narrow down all my choices and will be back for more in the future.

This wonderful store evokes a time long past, where you could receive help from knowledgeable people who love books. The owner is helpful in a way that searching online never quite captures, when you can’t quite remember the author or title. Main Street Books is an adventure and a journey into a bygone time. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

They are open and require hand sanitizer as you walk in--a good idea.

Great customer service from a friendly staff. We purchase our middle schooler’s ELA books here, and I always bring them along to show them what a real book store looks like!

Not enough of these anymore...fortunately my daughter loves book stores and reading!! Awesome store. Thanks for being there.
